Interesting notes et differences between you 2 there....for the record, in my "Highlights of the year 2023" video I named this blended malt my "Blended Malt of the Year" (os I'm with you Dustin) and I found it more interesting than the 25 yo same range, mind you, alas I couldn't get a bottle of it yet as it is not for our market unfortunately....I'll buy 2 or 3 if I could....Slainte !
Just got my bottle today and have rewatched your review. I’m with Dustin! It’s all the descriptors you mentioned which helped me isolate some of the complex notes. Fantastic guys. Cheers!
Dustin was right. We do these blind, but after the review when I checked the cast maturation and other info, Dustin was dead right and I was completely wrong.
Good timing guys! I just cracked mine last night and agree with your notes. I got a kilkerran 16 2023 when I got this one and will have to compare them when that gets cracked. Wish I had got a couple of these though.(I had to do an order fast as springbank and co sell out so fast)
What an excellent whisky treat. I am going to have to seek out a bottle of this. Nice review guys. Thanks. p.s. found a bottle and I also took a chance on the 1998 Cadenhead's Enigma 25 Year Old Refill Sherry Blended.
I have a hazelburn 21 yr old I’m afraid to open…because once it’s gone it’s too dam expensive to replace 🙈 I am picking this one up tomorrow along with the blend 25 yr and speyside 16, excited for all 3
Superb whisky for the price. Mine continued to improve since buying it last October. Bloody delicious! Picked up a 2nd bottle upon recent release here in Sweden... was for a planned tasting I'll be hosting, but honestly tempted to keep it for myself for a backup 😅 😏😉😋
So happy that I just found two bottles of this for $120/piece. Some stores are asking $180! Can't wait to try this new Cadenhead blend with my Springbank buddies 😁
@@topshelfwhisky I did! I cracked it open the day it arrived on my doorstep...lol I also made my own blend with the hazelburn 10yr and the kilkerran 8yr cask strength (bourbon matured). I did a 50/50 split and it turned out fantastic. I like both blends, they both have their own uniqueness. You should try it out if you have a couple bourbon matured hazelburns and kilkerrans. 😁👍 Cheers!
first time I saw the Enigma labels, I guessed Dustin was responsible for their design. They must have seen his RUclips thumbnails and gave him a good price for it :)
@@arnoldbanderas1595 there is a 16 year enigma that's lag. I know someone with a bottle. Mike and I haven't owned an adelphi yet, but we obivously need some.

RISE OF THE MALT BLENDS ! great review, one for SPRING and SUMMER i am sure.
No doubt!
Beautiful whisky, good balance between cask and spirit. Perfect the way it is, wouldnt want to add anything.

When you give it a try. Let me know what you think.
Cheers guys. It’s good but I’m with Mike on this one -high eighties for me.
You gotta be in love with that hazelburn finish on this one, and I am!
Mike! Shipping this week.

@@jeffreykasel3387 nice!!! Whenever I get a bottle in the mail that’s the perfect time to open it, too.
Always a good day when a whisky hits home.
Always!

Professionals know good work man!
I really liked this one. I got two $135 each I didn’t pull the trigger on the 25 year enigma let me know if you guys got that one? Cheers
I'm debating that 25....if it hangs around I'll get it.
That’s sounds good, there is a 16 year old Islay (Lagavulin) I’m trying to source.
Is it by chance an Adelphi I just picked up a 16 year old of isles not sure where it’s from some say it could be Laga
Cheers
Sorry mine is most likely HP but they also make Islay one
