- Honestly - this was the part of this build I was most looking forward to. I've somehow managed to combine all of my loves into one place - audio, the garage, cabinets, it's all stuff I've obsessed over for years. This speaker setup right here is no different, and man is it incredible.

Stay tuned for more crazy!
You can tell the brad has been telling uncle matty to be nicer in videos haha. The rare occasion Matt says “I’m probably wrong” is hilarious.
Perfect setup for a Dream Garage!
Office theater...!!! Hahahaha..!!! 10:35
Burn the fireplace! Another T-shirt!
So dope 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I do own the NADc658 & the 77”A80J excellent choice.
I bought oppo enco x headphones which are partly made by dynaudio. Fits that budget bro, we are not a Porsche household lol.
I can't wait to see that mini-split evap. To start dripping down the wall.
Ha, ha... What do you think is going to happen then. They don't gush water. A few drips down the wall isn't even going to hit the cabinets. It will run down the wall.
Hey Matt, sick set up the number on the on the LG TVs CX is 2020 c1 2021 and so forth I have that Sony 77 inch 0LED and it’s fantastic The position of the television whether it’s stand or wall-mounted is for the sound calibration purposes and I’m with you Google is terrible you can set that up without the Google TV and it’s basically a regular TV with only the basic smart features and I’ve been saying that for years the Apple TV is hands-down the best streaming box I don’t know how people use a Roku it reminds me of os 9 anyways have a great one always enjoy your videos.
Matt 100% the American version of me… OCD, Audio Nut, Car Nut, Tech Crazy, Detailing Crazy, ex home cinema background…..
As a previous sound engineer and music producer, I am seriously playing with room acoustic concepts in a garage.
so sad no sound test, i was waiting for it even if a know we couldnt see the quality but its always good to hear a sample
It makes zero sense to do that.
All of the new higher end panels will do optical pass through from HDMI. All you need to do is run HDMI from your Apple TV to the panel and then a single optical cable from the panel to your audio device. It will even pass through an Atmos signal on the high end Sony or LG panels.
I wasn't sure about that. Good info.
DO NOT USE AUDIO PASSTHROUGH.
VERY UNRELIABLE IN THE LONG RUN!!!
@@v13audio I've been using passthrough for multichannel audio for 5+ years in this configuration and never once had an issue.
@@v13audio maybe if your tv is shit
Loving the Core series, considered it for a build here but went Genelec "the ones" and their active sub in a 7.4.1 Atmos setup.
Should install an ir extender so you don’t have to open the sonic cabinet to control the audio system. Another epic install by og.
These both operate without IR, so the door can be closed.
As John Hammond says in one of the best movies of all time, “Spared no expense”.
He did not say that
Reflections would bother me too much. Matt, look in to a short throw laser projector for your place
Professional installation Required... "Just put it in and shove it in." That is technically correct and professional terminology and process.
“Hey Sri, turn on / off the garage TV” it’s that’s simple and HMDI turns it all on or off
Feels like a showroom garage rather than a working garage
You can have both 🤷🏻♂️
Fireplaces are nice to have at middle winter in arctic circle. But floridians probably dont know winter wonderland and snow.
I lived in the PA mountains for half of my life. I would aspire to have the money available to not need to split wood and make my whole house stink. I'd want geothermal or some other version of efficient heat pump to heat my house.
But you want still a backup for power outage. And the house wont stink with proper fireplace. You should take a look at scandinavia house construction and how finished they are. Even thing like dish drying cabinet and other things.
I’m triggered by the lack of wall plugs and the tool cabinets that aren’t book-matched. Otherwise it looks sweet.
Don’t rcas use the outer shell as a ground? How are the XLRs better because they have a ground if both have grounds? Car audio has ground loop isolators or just wrap wire around your rcas to help with grounding problems all the time.
XLR has two equal length wires and a shield/ground. The dual equal length wires allow for the DACs ability to filter out noise.
Actually it’s not the length it is the 2 opposite signals on the wires. They are compared at the input and that is what cancels the noise.
XLR uses 2 pins for ground/neutral, with one of the pins being a reverse polarity (or an inverted version) of the ground signal. Normally, combining a signal with its inverse cancels it out, but with XLR, the receiving end flips the reversed polarity back to normal polarity so the signal is audible again.
The whole point in this is any noise that gets introduced into the cable/signal path exists in the same manner across both pins, and when the receiving end corrects the polarity, it brings the signal into phase (i.e. doesn't cancel out) but in doing this, also removes any noise since the noise will now be out of phase and cancelling itself out.
TLDR: There are videos on RUclips explaining this, but RCA is not as good as XLR for noise reduction.
I'm also terrible at explaining things, so stick with my TLDR and watch a video to get a better understanding.
Thanks for the info! This is pretty fascinating
Genelec!
What can be done to lessen the reflections of the overhead lights?
They aren't apparent in person. You could do LCD instead.
I understand your hate about fireplaces 100%
When I as a German look at houses in America, I feel the same hate as you do
Every house has the fireplace exactly where you are then unable to reasonably mount the TV because everything revolves around this stupid fireplace in the room
I also do not understand why everyone loves granite countertops and dark brown colored wood 🤢
I have looked at so many houses and have come to the conclusion that I am looking for a nice plot of land to build a house according to my own "European" ideas.
What brand of interconnects are you using Matt?
Mostly Metra.
I guess you never heard of Wilson Speakers!
Wilson doesn't make studio monitors.
Matt, you still need to run RG6 in homes, you do not just use it for cable tv anymore. you can use coax to run networking as well with adapters and run 10 GIG networking without rewiring you home for cat7e.
also RG6 can be used to send subwoofer signals over long distances by installing RCA ends. 100' is easy with no noticeable loss in clarity or volume.
What if this John guy you speak of wants to use the counter top to works on shit and he's using his Milwaukee grinder, throwing metal bits all over and it fucks up the tv.
He has three other work benches to do that.
Should paint all exposed wood black
1st
Come on bro did you really just pause an OLED?
It takes hours and hours to burn in.
Woodglut plans are amazing!
Beautiful setup. Sad you're an "Apple" person though. But that's ok, we have those that can think for themselves and those that use "Apple".
Pros use Apple
That's nonsense.
Hope your battery falls out lol
I agree. Nonsense.
Get them devil products away!
Ugh all that money on the cores and the sub and you’re running monoprice cables 🤦🏼♂️cmon OG! Monoprice is not OG spec.
For XLR, it really doesn't matter.
@@ObsessedGarage Highly debatable! Been a professional audio engineer for 15 years, having been part of building many studios and installing and wiring most. High quality XLR makes a difference. Especially when talking about the build quality of those cables. Crappy connectors and horrible solder joints!
The cheaper the cable, i.e Monoprice, the more capacitance in the cable. Higher capacitance equals signal loss. Cmon uncle Matty!
I've tried it many times, and have sold/bought fancy cables for most of my life. I've had to admit that I have never heard a difference.
@@timpannella9795 he would've taken those core 59s to the next level with some solid power cables and audioquest mackenzies.
I honestly thought Sony went out of business years ago! Seriously. Wasn’t aware they’re still around. 🤷🏻♂️
