That 80/20 approach really clicked with me. I wanted to try an animal based diet as well but was hesitant because i was in a perfection or nothing mindset. Great advice!
YUMMY DESSERT ALERT 🚨 With the kefir, a great dessert is to put some frozen berries in a mason jar and pour the kefir over it. Then stir it real good. The kefir turns to an ice cream texture and the entire dessert tastes like a berry sherbet ice cream 😋 if you like it sweeter, add some honey or stevia or sweetener of choice and some no sugar chocolate chips and I promise it’s so good 🤤🤤🤤 I usually go for the frozen wild blueberries or an organic triple berry mix

Ryan. Thanks for your service. I must admit I was a bit skeptical about your initial plan and approach. But as I listen to you more and apply it to my own experience I get it. I was on IF and Keto for 4 months and did great. But I realize for me, it wasn’t sustainable. When I started watching how you did it, I realize there are comprises that can be made. “Don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good.” Well said. Now I have reduced carbs but don’t go hardcore keto. I do harder exercise and stick to a 16/8. This I feel will allow me to have longer term success. Thanks Ryan!
I love that you can not go all in right at the start. I have been very intrigued with an animal based diet and have been watching @carnivoremd for a while. I was bummed out when I couldn't incorporate everything for myself and my family. I'm going to try and take your outlook on it and not stress about it! I've already got fasting down... the rest will come.
Ryan, love the videos. I followed a similar path to you in recent years and found little tips and tricks along the way. i lost 130 lb's using intermittent fasting and exercise. For about the last 5 months or so i have been on a animal based diet and i feel a lot better overall. One of the biggest tricks for me to eat more organ meats is to grind up the liver and beef hearts and then mix them into the ground beef when i am cooking. You can't even taste it really. A slightly more iron taste to the meat. My normal meal prep is ground beef/liver/heart in a egg scramble with kimchi on top. Costco brand greek yogurt on the side as a sour cream substitute (more volume and taste close enough) and some pork rinds. keep it up man.
I dig it. I’ve done daily OMAD, and now also do animal-based maybe 5 days a week. I find that I was able to drop weight with OMAD, but when I took up animal based my athletic performance improved. I also feel better. Though I include sweet potatoes, which I don’t think is Saladino approved. But it works for me.

You’ll want to be sure to get about 1g-1.2g protein per pound of lean body mass and then add high quality animal fat to this until satiety. This will usually end up being about a 1:1 protein to fat ratio in terms of grams. Remember that 1 pound of meat has about 100g of protein.

I do keto and intermittent fasting. But you might consider following Dr. Barry who does carnivore as does his wife who is a nurse. Their kids are kid of war. He has lots of good content. I know you said you are slow and steady when it comes to food. But you might make that a 90/10 thing. I just did a 10 day no sugar challenge with Dr. Eric Westman. I learned that there’s a lot of carbs and Sugars in fruit. So you may want to look at that. Also, you mentioned at the beginning of the video that a high carb diet would work for some. I was a little confused by that. Usually it’s the standard American diet of lots of carbs and sugar that make people gain a lot of weight. I hope that the carnivore diet works for you. I am sure it will.

I respect it but I still believe all carnivore and dairy is not good for the heart or arteries in the long term if you want to stay with the kids as long as possible. I also don’t trust all these carnivore and liver guys that also sell their own supplements a little suspect to me. Good luck on your journey you have a good setup going.
Your honesty with knowing what works for you is refreshing.. The amount of money and energy spent on fad diets or what the Jones's are eating and exercising can be so wasteful for many. Being in tune with what your body, mind and emotions are telling you is definitely key. One step at a time, not overwhelming your self all at once is the key to maintaining healthier habits. I always remind myself.. eat to fuel your body, not because your in your feels.. This instant gratification society we live in will kill ya just as quick as that fast food meal takes to order (and let's be real, do they ever get the orders right? Nope🤣) Keep up the good work Ryan, you have a beautiful and loving family, your realistic about your goals and that's a recipe for success.. Haters guna hate especially when they realize you don't give a crap about their hate 😋 Do what's right for you 😉 Thank you for sharing your journey, you are very inspiring to watch. ☮️💟🤗

Love the slow and steady mentality and 1 change at time. I don't buy the carnivore diet though. "Carnivore MD" gets recked in any debates he has with legitimate doctors. The diet is bogus and only helps in the short term. His debate with a vegan doctor was pretty illuminating that the long term effects of so much meat and fats are potentially extremely harmful. Maybe you might consider switching to something else!

How is your digestive system? I need to go to bathroom everytime after eating breaking the fast
Do you still plan on doing Fasting/OMAD while going meat based?
Hi Ryan, is there a reason why are no longer following this diet? I have been considering doing it
@Ryan Johnson will you ever take a break from fasting to let your body break from the routine
I just switched to this diet too 💪 I'm having a hard time NOT eating a rice krispie bar pre workout
I love cereal and milk🙏
90% of what Paul eats is ground beef 80-20 Walmart sells pound packages for 5 bucks
Be careful. Continue to eat fruits and vegetables. Most humans can't live off of just meat. It's like people are forgetting about scurvy.
No for sure. I’ve been getting down in some fruit.
Isn’t drinking diet soda still breaking a fast ? Due to the artificial sweeteners?
Your honesty with knowing what works for you is refreshing.. The amount of money and energy spent on fad diets or what the Jones's are eating and exercising can be so wasteful for many. Being in tune with what your body, mind and emotions are telling you is definitely key. One step at a time, not overwhelming your self all at once is the key to maintaining healthier habits. I always remind myself.. eat to fuel your body, not because your in your feels.. This instant gratification society we live in will kill ya just as quick as that fast food meal takes to order (and let's be real, do they ever get the orders right? Nope🤣)
Keep up the good work Ryan, you have a beautiful and loving family, your realistic about your goals and that's a recipe for success.. Haters guna hate especially when they realize you don't give a crap about their hate 😋 Do what's right for you 😉
Thank you for sharing your journey, you are very inspiring to watch.
☮️💟🤗
I do carnivore/keto. Best decision
I've lost 82 pounds in 4 months doing animal based and it doesn't feel like a diet. The fruits make it super easy to kick junk food cravings. I do still enjoy a coke zero here and there and at the end of the day I am not trying make myself hate life I am trying to keep control of the foods I intake, I could probably stop the coke zeros but enjoying a coke zero once or twice a week I am willing to do.
It's good to have friends in the meat market 😋
New life new body new wife 💪 you motivated me to switch my life completely! Broke off a bad relationship that was ruining my body and mind . I am healthy found a new women and better then ever !!
What about pizza Fridays?? Lol
Need to get a Costco membership and cut your own prime ribeyes for $10 a lb
Watch Dr Ken Berry. So much great info on this way of eating. Grass fed meat not necessary for awesome results
Good golly, Miss Molly we’re all stupid look at his eyes tell me differently
Love the slow and steady mentality and 1 change at time. I don't buy the carnivore diet though. "Carnivore MD" gets recked in any debates he has with legitimate doctors. The diet is bogus and only helps in the short term. His debate with a vegan doctor was pretty illuminating that the long term effects of so much meat and fats are potentially extremely harmful. Maybe you might consider switching to something else!
I’m not sure how meat, dairy, fat and fruit is somehow unhealthy.
@@thezu9250 probably because you don't read any research
@@thezu9250ed meat causes cardiovascular problems, humans aren’t even meant to drink milk and fruit is loaded with sugar
