Buber was right. Israel cannot control what Hamas & Palestinians want and do. There is such a thing as free will. Israel can protect its own citizens though, that it can do. Palestinians always can make a choice in what they do and what they support. True peace requires a partner willing to live in peace, a partner willing to accept peace and take actions towards creating peace. Hamas and all the other Palestinians that entered on October 7 did the best they could to kill peace metaphorically and literally. This does not remotely only rest with Israel.
