As someone who was born and raised in the Seattle area… it was beyond cool to see people experience their first piroshky and beechers mac n cheese. Seattle classics for a reason!!
I lived near Seattle for 3 years, and I still crave Beecher’s mac&cheese and the Daily Dozen donuts. Ugh, and the oysters! Seriously my favorite city and I miss it.

Honestly one of the best eat the menus i've ever seen. I really like the vibe of everyone hanging out and trying different things and having a wander around. This is a nice change of pace from the food coma hell keith puts himself through in the usual ones 😅
Come on up to Seattle and walk Pike Place. Makes for a fun day trip--but be warned parking is frustrating.

I hope he didn’t get super sick! But he really just at small bites and mostly fish from what I saw, I was just worried about his tummy, lol. Though when I quit being vegetarian I think I went crazy and got a steak and all the bacon that first day, maybe even fried chicken? And I was fine.
I’m a flexitarian bc if im traveling im eating meat I want to try different foods and if something looks good and smells good anywhere I’m gonna try and flexitarian could be what he meant when he said it I say I’m a vegetarian if I don’t want to explain flexitarian to ppl bc then the “so you’re not a vegetarian” conversation happens and I’m don’t feel like explaining(also if It’s local like this stuff mostly is I’ll absolutely eat it)

I really love this style of video. The free advertisement for all these different places, the boost for tourist if they don’t know what to try or where to go, and the appreciation he shows for each restaurant is very heart warming.
It's a boost for locals, too. My mom and I watched this and were like, "it's been a while since we bussed down to Pike Place, we should really go more often".
Yup totally refreshes the eat the menu brand. Lets hope this video is the first of a long successful series... Eat the market!

some general advice for travelers and locals alike about Pike Place
1. Seattle parking is free on Sundays and Holidays.
2.Piroshky Piroshky has multiple locations throughout Seattle and the greater Seattle Area.
3. Pike Place Chowder on the otherhand has only 1 more shop in the Seattle area. it's within walking distance (or at least for me).
4. Pike street (hence the name Pike Place) also has the Seattle convention center and the Starbucks Reserve Roastery
5. (really for tourists) but Beecher's cheese is available in most grocers in the Seattle area (Costco, Safeway, Target). I recall the price being better but they only sell the more generic and basic cheeses. you have to go to the actual cheese shop to get the more unique products they offer.
6.Pike Place Nuts rotates their menu on an inventory basis, meaning that if something ran out, it will be replaced with a new product. If you found a flavor you like, you're honestly better off ordering online as the product may not be available at the store (They also apparently have other shops in the greater Seattle area)
7. if you go down the road in gumwall, there's a restaurant called the Skillet. It's a bit pricey but food is really good.
8. RGB, or Ruth's Ginger Beer has 2 other locations, 1 near the Amazon Spheres, the other in University Village
Pike Place is the street name for the road that runs between the two side of the Market...

The "lemon" and brightness from the filipino food at oriental mart is actually a kalamansi which is between a lime and lemon in flavor. They're tiny, like the size of a silver dollar. Also, the sausage was langunisa which is a breakfast sausage you'd have with garlic rice & a runny egg in a breakfast bowl. Would love to see Keith do a trying filipino food video sometime! Tinola, karekare, bibinka, halohalo, etc

I loved Keith's excitement over catching the fish. 😂 And I loved this version of Eat the Menu. It didn't seem as rushed, so Keith didn't get the food coma sweats as much.

It's nice to see Keith actually enjoy the food on this show. Keith always seems so disappointed by the end of a fast food/chain restaurant.
It probably helps that so much of this is fresh, good food and even the sweet stuff is more homemade style and not just mass produced grease.

I feel like half the point of the other Eat The Menu videos is watching him endure the mediocre food marathon. This was more like a nonstop tasting menu. Different vibes, but I definitely enjoyed the second half of this video more than I do the fast-food ones.

As someone born and raised in Seattle, at 37 years old I've been to Pike Place more times than I can count. This whole video I kept wishing " Please lord let him find the Hum Bao shop.

I go to Gatlinburg every five years or so. I'm absolutely aware of how much a tourist trap it and Pigeon Forge have become; the important part is having fun, worrying about being tourist trapped comes second.
As a Seattle Native, Pike Place Market is the tourist trap that even a local doesn’t mind hanging out in.

I work at a hotel a few blocks from Pike Place Market, and guests regularly ask if the market is a must-see or just a tourist trap and I always tell them that it's a must-see. If you had a whole week you could spend it there and still miss stuff.

As a born and raised Seattleite, this video was the best! I was definitely dying with the Pike's Place for the whole video so I'm glad he got corrected, even if it didn't stick. One thing I wish they could have tried: Simply The Best dried fruits and veggies! The beets there are a classic- my family puts them in our Christmas stockings every year!

Watching Keith have the same revelation of every out-of-towner at their first Beecher's was a delight. It's totally worth the line (which I guess he skipped this early in the morning)! I've also had that same salmon sandwich, and it was gorgeous.
I love how the titles in this series make Keith sound like an Eldritch Diety that descends upon unsuspecting locations and devours them in their entirety.

Oh man! I know there are a lot of places to try at Pikes but you all missed out on the Uli's Sausage experience! Choosing the sausages you want them to grill up, and them serving to you on a wood platter with an array of mustards, bread, and sauerkraut is LIVING!

I love this more gorilla style way of filming. Just walking along and eating food and having genuine interactions. Don't get me wrong I love all the other way the menus just fine but this is like a sub genre. And I'm into it! Would you ever consider walking down bourbon street in New Orleans, or Broadway in Nashville?
This has got to be one of my favorite Try Guys video. I love when Keith and Zach are out of the studio, and there is something very fun and cinematic about walking through and taste testing and interacting with these vendors. I love it! More non-chain eats please :)

I'm from Seattle, born and raised. I still say "Pike's" sometimes. I'm so sorry, I know I'm a disgrace to my fellow Seattleites, low-key blaming my dad because he's from Minnesota, and I developed a lot of his speech patterns.
I’ve only visited Seattle, once over 25 years ago. It was even bothering me! 😂

FUN FACT my stepmom used to work at the store called Bavarian meats that 3:24 was two or three stores down from the “original” Starbucks and the reason why I put quotations around the word “original” is because actually the very first Starbucks burned down somehow and so the one that you guys went to was actually the second one. Thank you to my step mom for giving me that cool little tidbit about Starbucks there
Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

@jj-if6it oriental generally means east or southeast Asia, though many people at least in the US tend to use it to reference China more. I only really knew it because there was a small Asian mart in my town called Oriental Store and it had foods from various Asian countries but was mainly for Filipino goods.
As someone who has worked a few blocks away from Pike Place for the last 10 years, this video gave me such a "you idiot" feeling for all the food I've never ventured to walk over and try. Now I'm excited to fix that!
Of course Keith's the one to make me appreciate a place I already live.

This is my hometown, I was born and raised in Seattle (Capital Hill) and you are correct, Pike Place is not a tourist trap, it's the heart of Seattle. ( Now, when the cruise ships bring in over 5000 people, THEN and only then Pike Place turns into a tourist trap, worst time to go to Pike Place)
All the places in the market are the places I visit too. Some places that I thought I would see is Matt's In The Market (great salads), The Albi Room (might be closed-Tom Skerritt use to go there a lot), Kell's Irish Pub (Post Alley) and the Virginia Inn.
Some local favorite dishes to go for next time are Teriyaki (beef, chicken, salmon or veggie), salmon candy (not a dish but an awesome snack), Molly Moon ice cream and a "Seattle Dog" (a Polish sausage (hot dog) in a sourdough bun with cream cheese and deli mustard, topped with grilled shredded cabbage and Walla Walla onions) SOOOOOO GOOD !! I used to have this after any music show I went to at the Showbox or the Pink Door
This video took me down "memory lane", I miss my hometown very much.

The market is confusing. My first visit I spent just walking around trying to map it. Pirozki place and Beechers (AMAZING!!!!) are my go-to. Luckily they are next to each other cuz...parking.

NOW I REMEMBER RACHEL!!! I kept wondering why does she look so familiar to me. She has twins! Very cute baby girls with super cute names!! Who I am sure are 3 or 4 years old by now. Eugene babysat her twins...in a suit! Her snapback after birthing two babies was tremendous!! There really should be a follow up video where Eugene watches the girls again just before they start kindergarten. June and Poppy! 💕

I’m glad Keith had a better experience with the fish throwing than I did, I was standing behind the guy who catches it on the other side of the counter and it ended up slipping out of his hands and hit me in the face 😂 I ended up getting a free t-shirt from it though!

My favorite eat the menu that I keep going back to is the one where he eats a ton of cheese because of all the emotional phases he goes through when trying each one. That liquid cheese definitely looked challenging lol

I think I've watched this a dozen times. The whole vine of this video is just so great. As much as it's fun to see Keith trying something terrible, seeing him try a whole bunch of stuff he loves is way better. And his willingness to try everything the workers gave him was awesome.

As someone who grew up an hour or soup into the woods outside Seattle and has done lots of trips to Pike Place specifically, this video is amazing and makes me so homesick and it's awesome. Also, dungeness crab is the best crab in the world. Harder to eat than snow crab, but the flavor is so much better. (The gum wall is a horrifying monstrosity best ignored)
The spice store behind Keith when he is dying from the samosa is amazing, too! This entire experience is straight up what it is to walk through the market, except there's all sorts of other shops they aren't going to because it isn't prepared food. I love it so much.
I think this might be one of my favorite eat the menus... seeing keith try such a huge variety of food and him and everyone else having so much fun was a treat!

Beecher's mac and cheese is actually my life. I live in Washington and we had a Beecher's in the mall that I worked at and it was the best lunch food ever. And yes, I would finish the whole 16oz container of it lol. Also le panier macarons are heavenly!!

Keith's descriptions of foods is probably the best ive ever heard. He puts any food network/cooking channel food description to shame. I just can 100% imagine all the tastes he is tasting, its the best part and I could honestly watch him eat food for hours.
The best way to do it is 3 girls bakery for a sourdough baguette and then beechers cheese curds aka "squeaky cheese" and order Mac and cheese and eat the bread with the cheese and Mac and cheese. Its a tradition in my family and I never miss it any time I got back.
I want to live in a world where we all have never ending pockets like Kieth to put all of our snacks in, that would be heaven

As someone who lives only a couple hours away from Seattle, it makes me feel so happy to know that eat the menu was shot so close to me, makes me feel like I was there with Keith😌
one thing I appreciate about this trip is that Keith was involved with everyone, he had moments alone and all together, he truly is an awesome person to be around
