I remember sitting with my feet on the edge of the stage in a little jazz club and watching as Joe Pass played solo. He was playing one tune, and after the bridge, he came down on another tune with the same changes. He looked surprised, and told me later, "I played some weird shit up there tonight." Of course there are so many tunes that share progressions, so it's easy to hear. But _"Donna Lee"_ is always presented as an independent melody, never as "Parker's take on _Back Home In Indiana_" so...
