    It was clear it was a gimmick people only watched because it was brand new.

      Yea, I think it felt a little bit like a kid who made a rushed school project before midnight, just so that he can pass class. I think if they flesh it out more and incorporate it better it could be something interesting !!

    There’s no stakes in the nba cup. The winner of the cup should get one extra win in the win column on their record. It could end up being a tie breaker for them in playoff seeding. Also they should use it as experimentation for rule changes. Allow things like no defensive three seconds and increased physicality to the games or even just do fiba rules. Also I think people are turned off by the idea that these guys get paid more for the games too

      exactly, the NBA thought if they just give it a name and a little trophy that it would suddenly matter, when competitions don't really work like that in real life

    What are your thoughts on shortening the nba season to 56 games?

    • @HoopNuke
      @HoopNuke  14 дней назад

      I am kind of for that, I think that the NBA would benefit from increasing the quality of the games instead of the quantity. You can make up the lost revenue in other ways if the games are captivating to watch, but that's just my opinion

      @@HoopNuke I just feel like every game would have more weight, stars sitting wouldn’t be as much of an issue with the extra rest, and more time in between games builds more excitement for the fans imo

      Exactly, and if a star decides to be lazy and sit out, it will cost their team a lot more than it does now

      @ I meant 58 also. Cut 24 games out. So 1/3 of the season. Hopefully Adam sees this convo 🤣🤞🏼

      I'm sure that Adam Silver has nothing better to do than to read the comments on my first ever video 😂

      100%. I'm a fan of a weak team and watching other fans actively root for losing in hopes for a good draft pick is absolutely bizarre to me.

    cool video. The one thing I disagree with is the lack of good story lines in the nba. I think there wre plenty of really good story lines, the real problem lines in the nba’s inability to promote them. How is the most hyped prospect since lebron not a great story line 😭🙏. or the okc vs cavs rivalry that is building up not a awesome storyline in its own right. right now there are two teams on pace for 70 wins and it feels like the nba has been to slow to capitalize on not only THAT story line but other story lines in the nba the past few years. its literally exactly like the mcu post endgame where there are multiple directions to go the nba just has to pick at least ONE

      @HoopNuke  13 дней назад +1

      I would actually agree with that, all of these are amazing storylines but to me it seems like the players aren't buying into them, like Wemby, SGA and Jokic are all just chill guys, very normal and nonchalant, I don't think this is a bad thing btw they are just being themselves which is cool. I think with all the previous storylines in the league there was a certain emotional intensity from the players that's maybe not cool anymore

    Dude just bring back division championship so that the regular actually matters. Youre "explanation" of why the regular season is unexciting is BS. People watch the MLB season all the time and they have a 100+ regular season games

    • @HoopNuke
      @HoopNuke  14 дней назад

      I didn't go too deep into the viewership problem, the truth is that games are meaningless but there are also problems with how accessible the NBA games are. MLB on average has the oldest audience (average viewer is around 57), and the NBA on average has the youngest audience (average viewer is around 42) the age gap of 15 years is huge and different generations have different preferences in the ways they consume media, so comparing two different sports is like comparing apples and oranges, doesn't really make too much sense

    • @HoopNuke
      @HoopNuke  14 дней назад

      Oh also I'm all for bringing back the division championship, but they would still need to change the regular season to make the format work and make an impact like it does in the NFL for example

      @@HoopNuke Still doesn’t hold up when the NFL is trying to add games to their season. It’s not the amount of games it’s how meaningless Adam Silver and his players have made everything about the NBA. Nothing means anything. Not the regular season, not the ASG, not the playoffs, not even the Finals. Everything is so bland

    • @HoopNuke
      @HoopNuke  10 дней назад

      Yea the NFL is adding games because currently they play like 17 of them during the regular season, I bet you if they were playing 82 games they wouldn't be adding any, comparing different leagues is like comparing apples and oranges, they have different age demographics, lengths of the matches, and overall structures. It's not a helpful nor a productive discussion
