Would sizing the case head with a bulge buster or casepro 100 have any positive effect with preventing what happened here? I was / am glad you kept all your fingers and both eyeballs
Had the same thing happen in a 17. KKM took it great but it blew the extractor a mile away, blew the mag release out both sides and cracked the frame at the trigger on both sides. It was a double charge so it was my fault.
Scott Anderson yeah this one was a case head separation. Did shoot the extractor a mile and lost the trigger. But the frame was fine. I could only imagine what a double charge would've felt like in a glock.
Question, are you running the stock barrel? I have heard that if a previously glock bulged casing is aligned with the unsupported chamber cutout a second time this could happen. I am switching to a lone wolf, and wanted to see your experience.
Wikun no there was a KKM at the time of this video. I’ve since switched to 2011 style pistols. But you def don’t want to run the factory barrels due to the unsupported chambers.
sir, final question. how many rounds can the comp take before it breaks? coz the comp is aluminum made. some guys told me it will be broken after a few hundred rounds. is that true? if not. what kind of maintenance or cleaning wouldyou recommend after a match?
Keep it clean with a break cleaner or something that will break down the carbon. Lucas outdoor line makes a good cleaner as well. Whoever said they break after a few hundred rounds is a little bit kookoo. Ever part on every ar I have is aluminum with 1000's of rounds thru them. I prob had 5-10 thousand thru it with no issues ever. Keeping it clean is the hardest part
Gee, a Glock with a frame mounted optic, a slide racker, and a comp, on a video where it's called a "race gun" and you can't figure out if it was altered? Do you wear velcro shoes?
You can't run the stock barrel from a glock and run major power factor. It was always reliable until this day. You will also have to get the ejection port opened. Carver customs has everything you would need to make a killer open glock
+Gunz & Gear 1 i dont know. my smith told me he can attach that 11 port sjc comp in the glock stock barrel. im from the Philippines btw. i was thinking of buying an after market barrel but its pretty expensive here and a lot of requirements.
+tony stark get the barrel. Major power factor is too much pressure for the factory glock barrel. Try lone wolf threaded barrel. They shouldn't be too bad.
If you run the video back at super slow speed and pause at 0:44 seconds, you can see the case head being ejected without the rest of the casing. It is definitely a case head separating with a resulting detonation inside the frame. That shouldn't have hurt you, but I bet it stung like crazy.
Luckily I have a Kkm precision barrel in their and it held up. The only things I had to replace was the mag release and the extractor. A buddy of mine had the same thing happen, his entire gun was effed up. Luckily my round wasn't double charged or it probably would've done the same thing.
+2 Alphas yeah man glad to hear that! That sucks when your equipment breaks and cost you money. Those race guns are anywhere from $2k-$7k that I've seen
I'm assuming you didn't get DQd...good job keeping the gun safe after something like that. I'm glad your video showed where the gun went, but I wish you kept the next minute or two of footage. That way we could have been informed as to what happened next, how you dealt with it, etc.
@@1slkss A single grainy photo with no back story... no telling what may have caused that but you may want to try Googling Glock Kaboom, I'd provide links but there are about 70 of them... you may also want to Google Demolition Ranch and watch his video on Hi-Point barrel obstructions.
There are many calibers out there that one could consider to “”pointless” as you stated. However, that’s what I was shooting at the time. The round was loaded under book maximums but did have a bad piece of brass. You shouldn’t try so hard to be a troll. It’s not a good look. Try to find things that make ya happy brotha, life’s too short to be an ass.
@@tuckers2a665 I was unaware that posting facts was trolling. Sure, .40S&W is still effective, but it's not the most efficient or affordable calibre. The .40S&W is an answer to a question no one asked. The choice of suckers.
@@225degrees At the time this video was posted, .40 was still a popular round for this competition. It's still a popular round in multiple divisions(SS, Revo, Limited). You were typing out of your ass.
@@225degrees A lot of 40 caliber owners disagree. I don't think they're "suckers". I know a lot of folks can't handle the recoil..if that's you try a 9.
Since your interested in trolling this morning I guess I can explain to you. This is not a defense gun. This isn't training for the world to end. We race. I'm sure you could teach me how to shoot. Maybe one day I could get a lesson from you.
I'm going to troll on you cause your dumb Coloradoian. And shame on you, you don't even know the sport to talk about it. I'm a competitive shooter. And your a punk kid how about you read more and type less ...
I love it when people tell you what to do unsolicited. Looks like he was shooting IPSC or similar. If he wanted to shoot Production class (relatively stock gun and iron sights) he would probably be doing that. Looks like he prefers Open and a tricked up gun, whatever floats your boat. I prefer Production (used to use CZ and now Glock) because I want to use iron sights which I relate to "realworld" shooting. Totally get the Open Guns and enjoy watching them, just not the sort of challenge I am looking for.

What causes that?
What caused that?
It was a case failure. There was a weakened spot on it by the case head.
3 Guns and Gear 1 glad to see all the fingers buddy.
Then your ammo blew up...not your gun...
3 Guns and Gear 1 what brand of ammo?
Reloaded ammo huh?
Did it ruin the gun or just the barrel

Let me guess... Home loads outside of manufacturer specs, nothing but aftermarket garbage in the gun, and shooting the pointless calibre of .40 S&W.
