I always love the shot of Steve closing the door with him inside the plane, knowing full well that he will need to open the door again and retrieve his camera!
LOL. And here’s me thinking there are hundreds of “stevo-cams” littered across the Eastern USA. Stevo leaving his signature wherever he goes like little breadcrumbs for local student pilots to pick-up and follow. 👨✈️🕵️♀️
Leaving the cameras behind, someone at the FBO charging him a few hundred dollars to retrieve it, send him the footage then Fed-Ex the camera to him
He does all kinds of cinematography like that. It's subtle and one doesn't notice unless you think about it. Very well produced. Check out Josh Flowers productions on Aviation 101 ruclips.net/channel/UCKALXb2rTLNwVgH9DHVVPLw He has some beautiful shots.
Great cinematography touches like that really add something to the video. The B-roll shots of of the TBM are great too. Tricks Im still learning to use. Sometimes I'll add third party B-roll from video blocks etc, or screen capture a second or two of fair use video from other sources for my kids educational vids. Still a lot to learn for me 👍.
😀
Am I the only one that finds it amazing how far we have come as far as technology is concerned? SteveO is in the sky, at an altitude and temperatures we wouldn't normally be able to even survive in, sitting comfortably in his seat, at speeds we were never meant to travel at, navigating his way with pinpoint accuracy across distances we would previously have spent weeks to traverse, at a time of night we aren't naturally equipped to be able to see anything, dodging storms far beyond his vision, avoiding other aircraft, landing safely at a predestined destination within a few feet and a few minutes of time calculated at departure. Incredible if you ask me!
It’s pretty incredible... Even traveling with a smart phone is incredible to me . I’m 53 and remember traveling as a young guy using guide books and timetables. Now I can travel the world with all the information I need in the palm of my hand. Booking things , doing banking, using maps and GPS with pinpoint accuracy . I’m with you it’s amazing
@@AndyL940 I am 57. The change from dials to glass cockpit is incredible. I used to use a circular slide rule for flight calculations ! Now we have Foreflght. I would draw in chinagraph pencil ON a plastic map.
@@Rincypoopoo Which is why I think you would fare much better in an emergency than those coming up. All this new stuff works fine until the power goes out or the wifi quits and then the youth start freaking out!
@@markthomas6045 I’m with you. I’m 51, got my licence in 1993, now fly an advanced glass cockpit Cirrus SR22 G5 and use an iPad for flight planning. However, I still carry the paper enroute charts for the planned flight, a watch, a magnetic compass, understand magnetic deviation, cross track drift and am able to reposition myself on the paper map at a moments notice. I Have had IPads “go dark” on me and always include standby instrument manoeuvres on my annual instrument check ride. Even modern gps enabled navigation is still based on classic time - distance - track principles between a known point and a destination point.
Great to see there are others out there that continue to be amazed at the advances in technology. I work in technology and am just learning aviation. I'm seeing just how far we have come and I try not to take it for granted.
Controller says, "Are you sure you filed a flight plan?" I had to chuckle at that point thinking are you kidding me this is Steveo!
yes, but the controller was very helpful
From my years of being an Air Force C-130 Combat Talon II Crew Chief I have aquired a love for the sound of taxiing turbo props. Thanks for the raw audio ending.
a lot sweeter than the R2800 recips of my c-123k of my day, but can you land in 750 feet and take off in 850?...lol loving the channel as always, especially landing at my home airport/nascar track
Steveo, I love the new close ups of the instrumentation. Keep up the great content. Thank you.
Thank you for watching my videos!
Me too.
for real I’m learning a lot
Halfway through a speech / presentation at Oskosh, Stevo says “ hope you’re enjoying the talk so far”, the entire audience remains silent because they are awestruck by his presence, and Stevo responds “ great to hear, if you are then I am too”. 😇
Steveo you make the best videos. Thorough, detailed. For anyone probably wanting to learn to fly. You do make it look quite relaxing and effortless, no stress and enjoyable. I like when you explain some of your steps in flying the aircraft, some of the aviation rules as you fly along, your close-up videos of the aircraft instrumentation, etc. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. Very awesome.
Thanks for showing the instrument reactions after adjusting the controls. Great video!
I know! With how fast that speed was bleeding off, if you weren't paying attention you'd get into trouble real quick!
I recorded me playing saxophone today can you watch it and reply to me please like now ❤
Love the raw audio at the end...nice touch!
Was a nice touch🤛
Hi Steveo. I am a legally blind semi-housebound old guy. Flying right seat with you is one of the high points of my day. Keep up the good work!
Loved getting some views of the instrument panel..keep them coming SteveO
Mountains bigger for sure, but those are pretty cool mountains down there. But we should get you over here to the PNW one of these days. You’re without a doubt the most free flowing professional pilot on RUclips. Never let anything get to you no matter how big the other egos are of anyone around you, you’re just humble as can be, packing the biggest set on here. Thanks for your video as always.
Aside from the obvious aviation geek-out I come here for, there's also a level of comfort in the familiarity of your videos Steve. Just a genuine guy doing a job he genuinely loves. Keep 'em coming.
Like the Bob Ross of flying
the raw audio ending was definitely a W
This flight had everything, stunning views in the mountains at the start and a pitch black night landing in an incredible aircraft with a pilot of the highest quality, hats off to you steveo!
Steveo, I loved this video because 0A9 or more affectionately known to a few hundred of us MBI pilots as Betsy International, is where we all learned to fly. Betsy was where we obtained our A&P as well as pilot tickets up through commercial instrument and a few of us our multi ratings. Loved that area and miss those days from more than 30 years ago. Thanks for some great shots of the area and bringing back some favorite memories.
Thanks for showing the instruments as you adjusted them. Really brought me into the flight! Thanks Steveo!
...thanks again for sharing Steveo..this has to be one of your very best flights, with such a great deal of much- appreciated informative explanations, along with all of your important steps and check lists so clearly described....best wishes...
Steveo... one thing I noticed when you were putting the reroute in foreflight... you can actually hit insert before/after and put all your new waypoints in at the same time instead of doing it one at a time! I just figured that out myself and saves some time when you have a big flight plan to put in!
I recorded me playing saxophone today can you watch it and reply to me please like now 🎷
I always love listening for the *dingggg* during startup.
30 years ATC retired.
Regarding no flight plan, if you requested it more than it think 30 minutes or so before your “P” time them system would not have your flight plan available. The controller would have to amend the “P” time to the current time then the strip with all the info would print out and enable it to be activated in the NAS. This MAY be why the controller was unable to pull it up in the system. If not too busy and not a lot of fixes a controller can put a flight plan in pretty quickly.
I’m not a pilot or know anything about planes but this videos are super awesome !!
My lunch times I enjoyed watching them !
I noted the comment about haze. at about 12:45. That is so typical of flying in east TN. We used to call it the East TN VOR... when you're headed home and begin to see the haze, you're close to East TN. The haze is one reason they're the Great SMOKY Mountains.
Steveo, you are a fine and gracious host. I'll bet passengers love flying with you.
I am a Canadian Private Pilot, PA 24 250 Comanche -- IFR - about 1200 hours. I really enjoy Steve's calm delivery and detailed descriptions of what is going on. Love the instrumentation description and aircraft set up through start, t/o, climb, cruise and descent. Very good on the radios as well. A standard certainly that I like to watch and set for myself. Great work Steveo - I appreciate it. CB
Home sweet home! Drive past this airport almost daily. This weekend to next weekend would be the best time to fly in with the leaves changing!
423 gang
Really like the friendly controllers. I bet that makes flying 10000 times more fun.
Loved it! The raw audio at the end was awesome. You never disappoint Steveo.
Thanks for taking me along. Thanks for all you do for your followers and the aviation community.
Great to see all the performance and navigation instruments so clearly. And the views are stunning. Love your videos.
You are a great pilot, smooth ride like I was in my recliner at home. 👍
That's a good one
Thanks for the Flight SteveO, Loved every minute of it!
I really enjoyed the production of this video, the various close-ups of the instruments, good explanation of various things you were doing, and the full sound ending!
Just AMAZING !!! One of the best videos i ever saw. Nice job Steveo!!!
Steveo thanks so much for your in depth explanations on the flight. Because of your pilot skills you make it look easy, but we all know that's not the case. Thanks so much for letting us ride along!!
Thanks for the Raw Footage..... adds so much more realism!!!
Thanks, Steve
I love the interaction you have with your viewers and how you explain things to us!
Great video Steve, I’m not a pilot but I am a US Air Force Veteran Retired. I worked aircraft maintenance for 21 years and always enjoy your videos. Thank You
Thank you Steveo! Awesome flight!
Ive watched your channel for year and really enjoy it, this video seems better than most as I believe your showing more of how the gauges work as you make changes.Great info and video, thank you
You're right! Beautiful territory; helpful, friendly people. Keep it up, guys!
Thanks for the close up and explanation of instruments. Excellent!
Nothing better than the howl of a turbo prop
Thanks for the ride along! I love flying through the sunset and into the dark. It's one of my favorite times to fly my piston single engine, even though options are limited after dark in the event of engine failure. It is just such a beautiful time to fly! Always a pleasure to watch a pro in action!
Been watching for awhile but this was probably my favorite video you have done from an instruction and visual standpoint! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Wow, awesome video! Love the closeup of the instruments and reminders of the acronyms. Learn something new each time. Thanks for providing such great content.
Thank you to your inspiration over the months I have been watching you, my first flight lesson is in November!!
Always fun flying along with you Steveo
I did enjoy that flight. Thanks again for all your hard work. Best aviation channel out there.
Hey, I really appreciate the added time you take to describe and show, in detail, some of the controls and adjustments. Also love the raw audio of the landing!
Hey Steveo, awesome video. I really enjoyed the close up on the instrument panel. Great stuff!👍
Really enjoyed this particular flight. We have flown in that region quite a bit so it was great to see that territory, again, and I really loved all the technical details you included this time. Close-ups of the instruments were very neat and made us feel more like we were really on the trip with you. Keep ’em coming! We watch every one.
This is the best I've seen from Steveo. Really Well Done Boi!
One of my favorites of 2020!
Awesome videos. Please continue to keep them coming. I enjoy watching from start to finish.
Thanks for all the detailed video work and information and system sharing one of the best videos I really appreciate!
Brilliant, true professional aviator. Calm and relaxed. No matter what get thrown your way. Good one Steveo., 👍✈📹💯
Steveo, Another great video as always! Especially the raw audio on landing, there's nothing like the sound of a turbo prop! Keep up the great content.

Love it, especially the night flight segment to cap off a great vid. Excellent choice of the Zeppelin at the beginning, too!
Great job steveo loved watching you depart I’m heading down to the Smokey’s next week and I also loved watching the speed bleed off then at 140 switching to IAS it’s just kinda satisfying lol
Great video Steveo! Calmest, coolest pilot around.

Steveo I’m a huge fan of your channel. I love watching all your videos. I’m currently working on my Private Pilot License so your channel gives me so much encouragement! Keep up the great work and I look forward to future videos.
Great video love the storm
Steveo you are obviously a lover of Led Zep music -- for a spot in the right seat in the TBM I'd happily teach you all the Jimmy Page riffs I know! Sending best wishes from eastern Maine and hope to see you at SNF 2021! Blue skies!
Very well made video, love all the view angles and commentary. Loved the Raw sound ending. Felt like I was riding right seat with you
Thank you Steve xx
Hometown of Jason Witten of the Dallas Cowboys. I grew up close to there. A beautiful place for sure during the fall. It makes me envious to get to view it from the air.
Great video, as always. Love the night arrival and the raw audio to end it. 😃👍
Beautiful sunset! Thanks as always for sharing the view Steveo.
Everything about you and what you are doing is absolutely cool!
Thanks so much for the raw sound at this end, we could really feel the atmosphere in the night
Splendid! Thanks.
Love the Smokys.... thanks for sharing. Oh and loved the raw Landing audio.. sweet
Great informational video is always. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
Very interesting and informative, as always!!! I like the close-ups and explanation of the instrument dials. Thanks!
Another Steveo classic! I love that the instruments of N851TB - like a jazz ensemble - each got their "solo". THANKS Steveo for the close-ups and explanation of each instrument! For those of us who will NEVER get the opportunity to pilot a TBM, your videos are the next best thing. And - yes - 4 Non Blondes do ROCK! Great Zeppelin cover.
I am glad you enjoyed the video!
Great flight! Nice landing too.
Appreciate the control and instrument close up! Always enjoy your videos!
Excellent video Stevo!!!
Been watching your videos for a while now. Love your music choices!! LOL
Hey Steveo! :)
I messaged you on Facebook a while ago and you offered some insight. Since then I’ve become a CFII, MEI and just Saturday I was in this part of Tennessee after ferrying a 182 from Southern California. Thanks for chatting with me back in the day, it was appreciated.
What an excellent video Steveo. Love the new setup and the way you explain what you're doing. Thanks for the ride :-)
You're the King Steveo. You could run commentary on a couple of snails competing for the letters in my mailbox and I'm confident I would be riveted
