There was no specifying whether the fan was a 12v fan, or a 110v, or 220v. So is it fair to assume that the voltage of the device plugged in doesn't matter, and that watts supercedes voltage? How much efficiency is lost through an inverter?
Watts = current * voltage. So wattage (power) depends on both current and voltage. Wattage is the total energy consumed by an appliance. Watt hour is the total energy consumed by a device over time.
Great explanation! I'm considering several alternative power sources. I notice small "Power Stations" like Eco Flo River 2 and Blueletti EB3 advertise less watt hour than their rated watts (ie 258wh, 600W, 1200W surge), How are these things possibly ever achieving the higher watts? I'm wondering if it's false advertisement or they have built in second battery to handle short peaks. Any thoughts?
So am i correct in saying the following about a 6v battery vs a 12v battery? 6v 430ah = 2580wh 12v 280ah = 3360wh The 12v battery actually has more storage capacity even though its rated at 280ah? Thank you in advance
If you are inverting power form 48v dc to 230v AC to calculate the total watt hours of your battery bank do you times the amp hours by 48 or by 230? Many thanks.
@@tombowman4489 I will assume you mean 8 batteries by x8. In this case, 8 12v batteries in series will get you 96v. If you want to increase the voltage you add another voltage source like a battery.
You have made a 24V 300ah battery. But the total power stays the same when you wire in series or parallel. Checkout my video about series/parallel wiring of batteries.
I want to run a 24v 1.8amp 45w chest freezer, I need at least 7 days running before I need to recharge the battery. I would use 2 lifepo4 12v in series, Q: what amp hour capacity would work in this case, thank you
45W*12h*7days=3780Wh approximately with a 0.5 duty cycle of the freezer (which is high). 3780Wh*1.2 (only use 80% of the battery capacity)= 4500Wh -> 4500Wh/24V=187Ah @ 24V. Total = 4 12V 100Ah batteries.
That's fantastic I can buy 1 x 100ah lifepo4 at a time for around $350nzd which is affordable thank you so much I really enjoy watching your channel there's alot of stuff about solar set ups but I like this 👍

Okay I'm so confused because 24 watts power at a given moment Watts used in an hour should be 24 watts at given moment * number of fractions in an hour that given moment is
I love how this goes right over my head
Great video with very clear explanation. Thanks a million ....from Nigeria
Very simple and clear. May God bless your you abundantly. One love from Nigeria 🇳🇬
Many thanks for this I've just started designing the system I will need off grid and your site has really good info that helps alot
Thank you for your valuable information on your channel. It is my first time and subscribed.
Thank you for a clear definition of ah / wh 👍
Very well explained and much appreciated. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent explaination. This helps clear up information on solar system builds.
Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the comment!
Your videos are very helpful
Thank you so much for explaining this very clear, you are a genius
Happy to help!
awesome. I've been trying to figure wh's and such.
I didn't understand a thing you said😊 everything you said went right over my head
Very clear; thank you!!!
An excellent explanation ❤❤❤
So good explanation
Glad you liked it
Excellent thankyou
Thank you very much 😊

Wh is the battery size (watt hours). the watt rating is the inverter power.

Can 4 12 V batteries connected in series 3:53 being replaced with 1 48 V battery ?
You can connect 4 12V batteries in series to get 48V.
In this case you will need to sude a 48v charger or a 12v charger? .. @@cleversolarpower

times 48. 100Ah*48V=4800Wh -> actually the nominal voltage of a 48V battery is 51.2V, so it's 5120Wh.
@@cleversolarpower thanks. does this still apply to x8 12v batteries in a bank to make 48v?

How to compute c rate how to know where u can u find it
It's in the battery datasheet. Generally 0.2C for lead-acid and 1C for LifePo4 batteries.

I will make a video about it soon.
What is the C rating of a 200Ah 48v
Lithium has 1C so 200A max draw. But it depends on your BMS. Most BMS'es are 100A, there are also 200A BMS'es out there.
Very consise presentation

Capacity is Ah, energy is Wh. It can become confusing. An energy bill is in kWh.
@cleversolarpower isn't the battery capacity the maximum possible amount of stored energy of a battery?
we need more. i am novice to electricity
More coming soon!
Isn’t a watt-hour just 3600 joules?
Yes. wh is a measure of enargy equals to 3600 joules. However Watts are a messure of power or work done in a second. Watts = joules / seconds.
Please can you send me the diagram?
You can get it through the link in the description.

Okay I'm so confused because
24 watts power at a given moment

24 watts at given moment * number of fractions in an hour that given moment is
No, if you use 24Watts for an hour, you consume 24Wh. If you consume 24W for 5 minutes, you have consumed (5/60=0.08333) 0.08333*24W=2Wh.
Cool
