Don't tell that to the "graphics don't matter" idiots... They'll attack with the ferocity of a thousand rabid raccoons!! Apparently they'd of been just fine if game graphics stayed at the Atari 2600 level. I for one however, agree with you.. This looks fantastic! It's getting closer and closer to CGI movie quality every year, awesome.
There are idiots on both sides mate. You get the people that automatically say a game looks crap without playing, just based on the graphics shown in some gameplay footage...
Dude! I like your kendrick lamar voice impressions I just started watching your videos today and they are freaking hilarious! keep up the good work dude you are amazing. and you just got yourself a sub :)
from seeing how the big tube works, i think its one of those machines that constantly have meat inside them, and you need to put more meat into it just to push the rest out.
people didnt like the evil within? the last boss was a ripoff but it was a decent game aside from the dlc that you had to buy.. but the game and dlc goes on sale whenever bethesda games go on sale
I keep praying that they remake Rule of Rose, but I don't think it will ever happen, unless another game company picked up the rights for it. Also, it would be great if they converted RoR to ps4 like they're doing now with old ps2 games, because I can't afford $100+ for a game lol.
Yeah, its a rare game to see and even rarer to hear people talk about it. It really is a unique game that i believe should be remade or brought back to light.
i really hope that this game will have dark death animations and not fade to black like it did just then when he caught by that chef :/ im a sucker for gorey death animations, like come on limbo had them!
nah that kills it. Not knowing is scarier than just seeing your character being ripped apart. For instance, what is that monster looking thing cooking? We have no idea, and that's what makes our minds go wild.
Vaxity but the meat isn't too big for a children?(my supposition) Look the sacks in the room before the shoes room, they are too big for a children size :)
Pretty sure it is not just some random person playing. How do you even know that it's someone from IGN playing? It could be gameplay from the developers that IGN got allowance to upload on their channel.
I accidentally found a gameplay video of this game today and i felt totally in love :) Unfortunately, many gamers will miss innovative projects like this, Ori and tbf, Unravel, Limbo or Inside because of the lack of a high budget promotion and fancy graphics. So they keep continiung purchasing the same triple-A blockbuster shooter like every year...
Wow! I'm not the only one who got the idea of Luigi's Mansion from this. I feel like Nintendo should take a darker path with Luigi's Mansion. This game being a pretty good inspiration.
Indeed! Within seconds into this video I really got the impression of a Luigi's Mansion gameplay, mostly because of the specific camera movement and the overall surreal atmosphere. Nintendo could really take on a more dreary and mysterious route with a potential Luigi title. They should handle all of this with care, though. A Luigi's Mansion game should not pass the bounds of its cartoony universe and become too sinister, or should I say "over the edge". It has to keep the humour that made the other Luigi games so fun to play, am I right?
i feel like the finishing touch that would make this game a master piece is if they added music similar to what was used in pans labyrinth, and the use and implementation of gore, where the chef would eat you in all manner of gory ways if he were to catch you. And lastly of course, making the various characters you discover alot more sinister and creepier then what they already are. So basically , im looking for that voodoo vince, pans labyrinth, banjo kazooie(halloween level) feel to it. Would be perfect.
The fact that people keep comparing this to LBP is brain-rotting. There's literally no similarities other than the animation style and maybe the physics. Literally nothing else about this is anything like LBP.
That's why they are. They're calling it a creepy LBP for that reason. Though it would be more so the art and perhaps animation of LBP with the atmosphere of Limbo and puzzles of Coraline.
"Other than the animation style and maybe the physics" I mean that's two really big similarities tbh. This is extremely comparable to both LBP and Limbo, and definitely Coraline. Art style, physics, and the "scrolling" gameplay are all baseline for these types of games. On an unrelated note, I freaking loved Limbo and Inside, and am excited for this game.
Reminds me more of Tim Burton's films than Limbo or LBP. Some of the animations have a very stop motion feel to them, and it seems deliberate. Very cool. Also like the "move in 3D space with a fixed camera" feel.
Jaw is on the floor! I can't believe I totally missed this! Luckily it came up randomly in my RUclips auto play rotation. This looks INCREDIBLE and I can't wait to see more of it!
This just looks beautiful! The animation and art style is just awesome... So detailed too. I can't believe this is actually a game, this looks more like an animated movie. I'm getting a Coraline vibe... And also Abe's Odyssey, dunno why, probably the meat grinder :P
Creepy: the atmosphere Cute: Yellow Hood character. It's probably all opinion but I think it's pretty clear that the character and atmosphere are what this title is targeting even if you don't think it's cute or creepy.
VY Canis Majoris Stuff in some games scares the hell out of me. I'm not trying to come across as a big, macho dude. I just don't see why odd looking humanoids is considered creepy. Hell, there's worse stuff in any Henry Selick movie. The atmosphere doesn't do anything for me cause it's just a tiny dude running around a kitchen. The shoes are a decent attempt, but, meh. They haven't given me a reason to care that they're eating people.
Watching people play these games is starting to become better than watching movies lol the story line and the game play to these newer games is off the chain!
Y'know I don't think the lack of gore is exactly the problem here... for the faster deaths it'd be great yes, imagine a great mechanical jaw closing over Yellow Hood in the shoe room, engulfed without a trace but for a sudden fresh trickle of blood from between the cold steel teeth. But for things like getting caught by the chef, I feel there just needs to be a bit more telegraphing so you know what to anticipate with dread as the screen blacks out. To be helpless and even able to control your character's struggling as you get carried over to an ominous pot, fading to black as he reaches a hand toward the lid and left with a sightless thud of impact, then the heavy, claustrophobic clank of the lid shutting... that's how you get a person invested and immersed in the gameplay. That little touch of interactivity draws the player in, makes them feel invested in the character because they don't just lose control when the big baddy grabs hold, they're stuck in this entity's perspective all the way to the bitter end. And they don't need to know whether it's possible to escape, that's the point and beauty of putting work into immersion. Then, proper pacing for the adrenaline-calling moment of being caught and powerless forces the player in further, sending their nerves higher as the baddy pauses before the inevitable end, all to culminate in the sickening emotional impact of the well timed finish. Partial sensory deprivation brings it to the next level, as the mind is very active and dislikes gaps. Basically, leaving the sense of sound while taking sight-- possibly the biggest sense humans care about-- creates a prompt for the poor player's imagination to fill in the details of what's being done. These guys sem like they know their way around good sound design already, so I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for them. I'm actually not a huge fan of horror games-- I prefer to scare people over being scared myself, heheh. But I always appreciate good work, and this game is looking excellent. Hopefully its promise will culminate into something fitting of the potential seen here!
I hope they polish up some of the jumping. It kinda looked like it was hard to know exactly where you were in order to jump and grab the right stuff (ledges, the handle for the trap door). I wonder if there was a way to put both the meat pieces on door at once cutting down some of the tedium.
Wow! This is looking utterly stunning! I'm talking like Aardman level of animation quality here. It's giving me vibes of another "Inside" quality game-game of the year level stuff.
this game is sooo creepy haha. i need it in my life, hiding under desks and such, being that small while the enemies are giants, seems like a really cool concept to me
Little big planet for adults.
This game even comes from one of the developers that made LBP PS Vita.
w
You are goddamn right.
right.
Much better than that. This looks like a GAME, not like an editor.
It's like Coraline and Alice in Wonderland put together. It looks neat.
Yasssss
Hey that's what I just said:)
And a dash of little big planet
plus Henzel & Gretel story
rem is best girl
If Tim Burton made a platformer
That would be so frickin cool...
Psychonauts...
+Daniel Adam how has psychonauts something to do with Tim burton
+Tim Stuppi
Just search the trailer if you haven't played it, it really has a Tim Burton feel.
Daniel Adam oh yeah sry man i watched the Trailer now youre right sry :D
Damn, Gordon Ramsay sure let himself go....
HA!
LMAO
dude thats guy fieri
The visuals and mechanics are incredible! I love how breathtaking video games are becoming
Marcus Estevez
That's true. Can go too far to the extreme on either side that's for sure.
bliglum Extremism ;)
Marcus Estevez Not to be confused with those damn radicals! haha
So they basically created the ultimate Tim Burton video game
I was thinking the same thing.
Never really interested in these types of games, but this looks pretty damn good. You can have my money now
Same but I liked inside
+Ryan Austin I actually liked that too. Didn't played it, but I watched a play through, and I really enjoyed it.
same
Echelon me too
i feel the same way
This kinda has a Playdead Studios feel to it. I love it.
Reminds me a lot of 'Inside'.
Joey Doug INSIDE was one the best games iv'e ever played in my entire life. No exaggeration.
Dude! I like your kendrick lamar voice impressions I just started watching your videos today and they are freaking hilarious! keep up the good work dude you are amazing. and you just got yourself a sub :)
hey
I see you a lot on "Atlanta" promos and childish Gambino related things. you as excited for the show as I am!?
What I like about this is that you're movement is not restricted to moving left or right.
Well ain't this a cute bundle of creepy.
Yeah broooo
+RICK SANCHEZ Wubba lubba dub dub
+Gabriel Lumbag and that's the waaaaaayy the news goes
I like the art style the game also seems to look pretty cool
Yeah it looks like a mixeds of Caroline and Alice in wonderland the madness return and litle big planet and a hall lot more.
The most disturbing part was how much meat was used just to make those three sausages.
from seeing how the big tube works, i think its one of those machines that constantly have meat inside them, and you need to put more meat into it just to push the rest out.
Kai Kaczmarski I know, but at a point (usually after the first two) the sausage comes at a 1:1 ratio.
To me it bares resemblance to Playdead's, Limbo and Inside. It looks great.
+Gazza Michael unravel wasn't creepy though
I agree it seems similarly to those games and I love it those games were really good.
Unravel is similar to those games too though.
@Gary Michael It looks more like LittleBigPlanet
This is the type of horror games i want. Dark, quiet, creepy. Nothing with cheap jumpscares.
This looks pretty cool I could imagine Laika making this into a movie.
Calm down
i thought this was a movie when i first saw it, the graphics are insanely good
i was thinking tim burton
I wish Hayao Miyazaki would make a movie bout this
gman93 Tim would kill it
What is this, Shadow of the Collosus by Tim Burton?
ha
go rot in a hole you waste of space
Whoa wtf man
Yes
No, it's obviously Sack-Boy with a green coat. The studio worked on Little Big Planet previously.
im always fascinated by this type of genre.since limbo
are you getting inside tmr?
same, Yves Allen. Limbo was incredible, and Inside was 10x better, a perfect sequel. This game, Little Nightmares, looks great.
"inside"is the best that blows my mind!
"inside"is the best that blows my mind!
+Derrick Jee Inside isn't a sequel to Limbo.
I knew Altair didn't die.
Hahaha
It's his reincarnation
The chef looks like the Slob from CrashBox
The revolting slob! Never thought I'd see the day anyone else brought up crashbox
djonesthe21 Childhood memories man
Dude I have been trying to forget about that character for years and here you go bringing it up
low key lmfao
Please help. This monster brings back scary af memores
Why are there little Ku-klux-klan members?

LOOOOOOOOOL
krescent klansmen

+Zhello xD you win
The Evil Within for childrens)
For children? ahahah no
He said for children. He never said with children lol
NOPE IT IS NOT FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY.
By Disney©
people didnt like the evil within? the last boss was a ripoff but it was a decent game aside from the dlc that you had to buy.. but the game and dlc goes on sale whenever bethesda games go on sale
Finally, a creepy game without any cheap jumpscares!
Floating shoes? Horrible, unrealistic, too much shadows.
-IGN
Huh?
This footage gave me like 4 panic attacks
The chef is probably the only creepy thing haha
You need to watch the trailer! There's a creepy bus boy with long hands.
Everything about this, the noises, music, silences, camera movement, aesthetics and designs just come together to make the perfectly disturbing game.
This game play really looks interesting.
(First to make a complete sentence)
I bet markiplier and pewdiepie and jacksec is going to play the hell out of this game.
this game play looks really interesting
who?
A really good game i would love to be seen remade is Rule of Rose. This dark atmosphere reminded me of that game for some reason.
Same, actually.
I keep praying that they remake Rule of Rose, but I don't think it will ever happen, unless another game company picked up the rights for it. Also, it would be great if they converted RoR to ps4 like they're doing now with old ps2 games, because I can't afford $100+ for a game lol.
wow i seriously thought everyone forgot about that game
Yeah, its a rare game to see and even rarer to hear people talk about it. It really is a unique game that i believe should be remade or brought back to light.
+James “Weapon X” Howlett i read about it in a gameinformer review years back. always wanted to try it out. never forgot about it all these years.
i really hope that this game will have dark death animations and not fade to black like it did just then when he caught by that chef :/ im a sucker for gorey death animations, like come on limbo had them!
I think it's kind of creepier when they leave it up to your imagination.
nah that kills it. Not knowing is scarier than just seeing your character being ripped apart.
For instance, what is that monster looking thing cooking? We have no idea, and that's what makes our minds go wild.
+TheIceLurker Cooking children. You can see human size kids shoes in the gameplay.
Like Dead Space DA?
Vaxity but the meat isn't too big for a children?(my supposition) Look the sacks in the room before the shoes room, they are too big for a children size :)
The sound design in this game is great!
Glad to see more horror games that uses atmosphere and tension instead of a bunch of weak jump scares
This is what would happen if you blended Little Big Planet and Limbo.
The little dude can have a rain jacket but NO shoes. Ugh it made me feel uncomfortable that he had to walk all that mess barefoot. :(
Didnt even notice till i read this.
+Stunewah yeah thank you. You got my back.
Idk man, i kind of imagine it's a little girl. But maybe the game creators are doing that gender neutral thing like undertale did?
Babylonthegreat then i was right to think it was a girl lol. thanks for confirming.
Babylonthegreat Too bad the US population is so ill informed. Just look at our presidential candidates! Either way, right on bro. I like your style.
WAS beginning to fall asleep but that ending sure woke me up.
haha ominous sounds you can't understand, that's whats keeping your eyes open.
Remember those Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books? Yeah... this reminds me of them...
I got an actual ad for little nightmares before watching a 10 minute ad for little nightmares
Hey have you ever played a game in your life?
No...
Perfect!
IGN contracting people for this kind of gameplay
Pretty sure it is not just some random person playing. How do you even know that it's someone from IGN playing? It could be gameplay from the developers that IGN got allowance to upload on their channel.
+I Fuzion xPro I I'm pretty sure the developers would know how to play their own game
sometimes it was pretty dumb... and I'm not just talking about this one
+Logan Gribben if it's the devs they probably want to show aspects of the game. I.e. what happens when you get caught etc..
Lol that has to be how the job interview goes, there's no other explanation.
I accidentally found a gameplay video of this game today and i felt totally in love :)
Unfortunately, many gamers will miss innovative projects like this, Ori and tbf, Unravel, Limbo or Inside because of the lack of a high budget promotion and fancy graphics. So they keep continiung purchasing the same triple-A blockbuster shooter like every year...

good idea, but never gonna happen
Oh my god, that would be so awesome. Nintendo would never pull off something that epic, though. :-/
that chef .......... got diabetes
yes after month of digesting tons of meat
the player is noob
I thought the same thing, seemed like it was their first time playing it. They should have had a chance to do it multiple times before displaying it.
well I guess he wanted to show all the things that might get you noticed by the chef and what happens when he does notice you
You haven't even played it yet.
Ikr
i feel like the finishing touch that would make this game a master piece is if they added music similar to what was used in pans labyrinth, and the use and implementation of gore, where the chef would eat you in all manner of gory ways if he were to catch you. The room fool of shoes reminds me of some photos of concentration camps.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
and the suitcases........
Full* you big ole dummy ahaha
think about it, the animals that we slaughter to day.. what's the differences?
Oskarlito you gonna tell lions to stop hunting gazelles too?
Mixture of "Limbo", "INSIDE", and "Little Big Planet. I LOVE IT!!

+Benjamin Crespan That means absolutely nothing.
Honestly I wouldn't wouldn't even say that, I'd probably only go as far as saying the lighting is somewhat similar to some LBP stages.
evil within, littlebigplanet, amnesia and INSIDE mixed in one interesting package.
You know at a distance, the main character kinda looks like Peridot.
That one room though....How chilling and heartbreaking it must be...
IVe never been into puzzle solving games but this looks pretty good.
That blubbery cook is the stuff of nightmares.
Yeeeeesssss, i was sold as soon as they introduced that guy choping the meat (enviorment i guess)....but now....the wait begins
Reminds me more of Tim Burton's films than Limbo or LBP. Some of the animations have a very stop motion feel to them, and it seems deliberate. Very cool. Also like the "move in 3D space with a fixed camera" feel.
First person mode of this with the oculus rift would be horrifying
LittleBigPlanet - Created by Tim Burton.
I screamed 'NO!" When she was climbing up the cabinet and almost go caught, lmao. 5:52 Game looks awesome, can't wait!
Is the person playing this has any experience with gaming before?
I doubt it!
Most IGN gameplay videos have horrible gameplay. Check out the Steep gameplay. It's terrible.
Jaw is on the floor! I can't believe I totally missed this! Luckily it came up randomly in my RUclips auto play rotation. This looks INCREDIBLE and I can't wait to see more of it!
This looks pretty neat...
This looks absolutely fantastic! I adore that it looks/reminds me of a stop motion film. Cute and creepy, the perfect combination.
Looks really interesting.
This just looks beautiful! The animation and art style is just awesome... So detailed too. I can't believe this is actually a game, this looks more like an animated movie.
I'm getting a Coraline vibe... And also Abe's Odyssey, dunno why, probably the meat grinder :P
This game looks so good ima buy it
The chief was so creepy, when he stopped to cough it gave me nostalgia and terror at the same time, very much like a scary kids movie.
That's pretty cool. I call my subscribers lil nightmares..
Torpid N1ghtmare Yeah and you're getting close to 200 lil nightmares. Congrats man :)
Artstyle and animations are impressive
This is really intriguing. Is this on ps4?
Yea, the button displays were from a ps4 controller.
+Uncle Lou yeah it sure does. Thanks
+likeaRockNroll Is it for all systems?
+Howya Doin I think so
no, it's for snes
the art style, the atmosphere! I'm in love! It looks so well polished too.
when does this game come out?
Spring 2017
That butcher is absolutely terrifying.
Looks good. I don't see anything that's cute, or creepy though.
Then get your eyes checked.
What's creepy/cute for you?
Creepy: the atmosphere
Cute: Yellow Hood character.
It's probably all opinion but I think it's pretty clear that the character and atmosphere are what this title is targeting even if you don't think it's cute or creepy.

+Kelvin Martinez I hope you're being sarcastic 3
+You're reading You've read I hope you're being sarcastic 4
The shoes reminded me also of the Pale Man in "Pan's Labyrinth". He ate the children and leave only their shoes.
A girl must be playing this game.
sexist
Im sorry but i said the same thing.
So, you where sexist first? Good job.
totally lol
what the Hel you talkin about.
Listening to that beast breathe so hard and chasing you really scares the s*** outta me lol
I'm looking forward to seeing the backstory
I don't know how but they really manage to capture the pseudo-stop motion style perfectly for this.
the camera angles, make it out to look like an interactive 3d comic to me, makes it seem pretty cool

Never have I ever been more on edge. I really wonder why, I've played more horror games than I can count by now. Dayum.
Would love to see the Grumps do a walkthrough of this.
Right? dan would love it
Doom Guy Dan would freak out lol... spring 2017 can't get here soon enough.
Oh god no!!!.......
The ending is the only part that's downright terrifying.
This reminds me of Little Big Planet combined with Limbo/INSIDE while being created by Tim Burton lol.
Omg the Soundtrack are really cute :3 (This game remember a movie create of Tim Burton)
God I cant wait to play this when I have three days off from work and its pouring down rain outside.
OMG that shoe monster, haha. Loving the sound design in this game. The art style is almost is giving me a Garbage Pail Kids vibe
This.. Scorn and then Agony. All these horror themed games look sickeningly fantastic!
I hope they polish up some of the jumping. It kinda looked like it was hard to know exactly where you were in order to jump and grab the right stuff (ledges, the handle for the trap door). I wonder if there was a way to put both the meat pieces on door at once cutting down some of the tedium.
The sounds are what got me. Love that atmosphere.
Tão incrível!!! Artístico e interessante. Toma na cara quem acha q Vídeo Game não é arte
Wow! This is looking utterly stunning! I'm talking like Aardman level of animation quality here. It's giving me vibes of another "Inside" quality game-game of the year level stuff.
Reminds me creepy animations from my childhood (Jiri Trnka), my nightmares, I cant wait :)
So much effort is put into this game. The graphics are remarkably stunning!
this game is sooo creepy haha. i need it in my life, hiding under desks and such, being that small while the enemies are giants, seems like a really cool concept to me
That chef is a thing of nightmares. Looks like Blob from Marvel and screams like Mr. Bean
Like how the chef's animations are so slow that he literally tries to pick the player under the table when he already left
I think the chef sees the player go underneath but doesn't see them come out the otherside, realistically
"Sneaking" in a BRIGHT yellow cape and hood...
This looks like a horror children book come to life
I love the Tone of the Music Box.
Looks so awesome, the chef's movements are so amazing to watch.
