A lovely camera, one of my favourites. I managed to acquire an almost mint copy complete with the 35mm attachments. One thing I noticed from your pictures is that every shot has a small black mark at the bottom of the right hand side. This is caused by the 35mm rewind button intruding into the frame. The simple cure is to make sure it is pulled out.
nice camera! just my few cents here and there: Yashica 635 apeared one year later than original Yashica Mat. not before. that make sense when you consider this model as kindo of extension to the original construction. by the way - construction that was based on the Rolleicord (no matter the crank advance) not on Rolleiflex. 635 as well as single letter yashicas (B,D and so on) was fitted with triplet lenses (Yashikors). Yashinons and Lumaxars, being tessar design are by any means superior. Better contrast, performance in the corners, less haze (present on your scans) - you name it.
Love the yashica 635 my favourite of my twin lense cameras
I regret selling my copy of the 635. As you say the lens was sharp and renders very well- even had the 35mm attachment that was fun to use.
"Poor man's Rolleiflex', but a very good camera.
