    As a Titans fan. I was in full agreement of letting Albert Haynesworth walk in free agency because I knew he would do with the Titans exactly what he did with the Washington Redskins. The only time he ever gave it 100% on the field, was in his contract years. He was hoping the Titans would either sign him to a long term deal, or another team willing to bet the farm would pick him up! It was always a mystery to me why Washington didn't see this coming?

      Haynesworth will forever be tarnished by his then record 5 game suspension for an on the field incident, stomping on the uncovered head of Cowboys center Andre Gurode while with the Titans. While Ndamukong Suh has also notoriously stomped on players, none were defenseless in such a manner as with the Haynesworth case. It's a wonder that Haynesworth did not face criminal charges for his actions.

Those 70s guys made the NFL what it is and almost all of them ended up crippled and underpaid, and not NFL underpaid but like underpaid for a high end construction worker.In 1975 the average salary was under 40 Grand a year

    I'm not exactly trying to stick up for Haynesworth, but there's a pattern with these teams who don't know how to sign players. They could have signed a cheaper option who is a scheme fit, but they went for the flashy pick who's never played in a 3-4 and unfortunately had no desire to. It's almost like signing Wes Welker and using him as an outside receiver to run go routes, or Antonio Gates as a run blocker.

  • @Fender178
    @Fender178 Месяц назад +2

    Also during that Season O'Donnell threw more TDs than Ints going into SBXXX. Also the Jets had Rich Kotite one of the WORST head coaches of the 1990s. Which didn't help matters with O'Donnell and Bill Parcels couldn't help him either. I remember O'Donnell playing for the Titans and he was solid back up QB helping the them win games in Steve McNair's absence. The issue with Bell was the the Steelers had s scheme that was built for exclusively for him which is another reason why he wasn't as productive with the Jets and other teams as he was with the Steelers. I would say a few runner ups would be Larry Brown and Desmond Howard because they got big contracts for their accomplishments in the Superbowl. Howard had a kick of return for a TD and he was singed by the Raiders hoping for him to be a good WR but he wasn't a WR but a special teams specialist and the Raiders tried to make him a WR and it didn't work. Larry Brown had 2 ints in the SB against the Steelers which O'Donnell threw right to him. He didn't pan out either and I think the Raider singed him as well.

    I know a lot of NFL die hard fans have heard of Albert Haynesworth. He was such a huge disappointment for the Redskins. Deion Sanders was also a major disappointment after signing with the Redskins, so he retired after the season. The Patriots made a huge mistake by signing Antonio Brown for a multi-year deal, so Coach Belichick released him after one game. The Cardinals signed Sam Bradford to change the team, so he has a history of being injury-prone. The Seahawks signed Franco Harris was a huge mistake, so he wanted to finished his career with the Steelers. The Jets signed a 4-year deal for Le’Veon Bell, so he wasn’t the same player once he arrived with the team.
