Mike and Lauren are back !!!! And they watched Eurovision 2012 for the first time !!! Join us on Facebook and vote for your favorites facebook.com/groups/912881309131922
Lauren asked if the performer for ex Hungary needs to be Hungarian. You told her 'yes' but that is not true. For ex France Gall was French but she competed for Luxemburg, just like Céline Dion as a Canadian performed for Switzerland.
PS I love ce faceți.
Lauren and Mike are back? I'm happy!!!! Hey Alex, just a heads up for 2013 edition in case you'll watch the official upload of the whole show and you haven't watched it yourself through the eurovision tv channel; there is a glitch on the 13th country and half of Anouk's song isn't there!
I agree - so many people react so snobby to Eurovision. These two seem entertained, even by the "weird performances." I like that they were genuinely watching and commenting without trying to make jokes.
Also the story with Albania is that there was a huge bus crash right before the semi final (I think they pulled the broadcast in Albania) it was a national emergency/day of mourning. This lady sang the song at a memorial for the people who died, so apparantly she was still super emotional when performing the final
Songs that had Swedish songwriters/co-songwriters in 2012: Azerbaijan "When the Music Dies" Greece "Aphrodisiac" Cyprus "La La Love" Ireland "Waterline" Malta "This Is the Night" UK "Love Will Set You Free" Norway "Stay" Spain ”Quédate conmigo” Italy "L'Amore È Femmina" Sweden "Euphoria"

@@Asa...S Yeah, and then people wonder why so many 'songs' sound like other songs. That's why. Well, it's one of the reasons. Did you know that over half of the pop songs 'by' Katie Perry, Madonna, Christina Aguilera etc etc are written by just two men ?? The other reason is that there are an accepted 3 or 4 formulaic song styles and most songs use the same four chords. Sometimes in different keys but usually the same chord progression. The age of experimentalism was the late 60's. We may never see the likes of it again.
I don't know if you know this but the reason that Rona the singer from Albania is so emotional at the end of her song is because there was a bus crash tragedy in Albania the day before the first semi final of Eurovision in which 13 people died mainly students and she was thinking about them when she was singing

I like to watch Eurovision reactions. And I have watched tones of them. It just relaxes me somehow. And of all ones that I have watched Mike and Lauren are the best really. They are so polite, kind, but still very relaxed and interesting. That really share some positive vibe and energy. Thanks for choosing Denmark as your winner, Lauren! 😊 Bonus info, the singer, Soluna Samay, was traveling the world, singing and playing with her dad, on the streets. You can find a lot of youtube clips with her playing, as a child 😊
I liked the video a lot! I love watching people react to Eurovision, especially when they're not European, but the videos online are always so short. I liked that with this video we got to see their reactions through the entire show, and their rankings too. And they seem really nice and not trying-to-be-funny; these seem like genuine reactions. I subscribed after just this one video. I hope you keep this format 😎 Will you keep adding more of their reactions from the years up til the most current?
Regarding Greece's performance, I think, the giant shell in the background depicts the mythological story of Aphrodite. In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite, goddess of love and beauty, was born from the sea-foams in a giant scallop shell and then carried to shores of Cyprus.
Yeah but at least one (or two, I'm not entirely sure) of the people present on the stage has to be a citizen of the country represented (back vocalists included because they are counted as well)
@@jojoelio5537 You are both incorrect. There is no Eurovision rule that prevents a certain country to send an entirely foreign crew. It's solely up to the national broadcasters themselves to decide whether they allow it or not
My favorites this year, besides the winner, was Kuula from Estonia and Zaleilah from Romania. So it was kinda fun to see you discover the first one and say you didn´t like the second one and then not be able to stop yourself from singing along and dancing anyway. I forgot how good this year was! And if you pay too much attention to the logic of the lyrics, a lot of songs will be very strange in Eurovision, it´s part of the charm..
my first Eurovision was from this year, 2012, because i want to see Anggun who represented France at time (she's born in Indonesia, my country) but ended up falling in love with Loreen. Euphoria is still my fav till now.
I may have said this before, but if or when you’ll be reacting to 2013 my recommendation for one of the songs is Greece with Alcohol is free, it’s a good song and i think it’ll get a good laugh
Lol I hated that song with all my guts I wanted us to sent Pyrivolakis one that year. But alas it was the last good place we got. Also not many understood this song may seemed fun but it was highly political. But not many could understand the lyrics and they were a bit poetic written. But alas I got used to it.
@@ZiaHere. Music wise it isn't and the singers didn't have a good voice. Lyric wise was very good but difficult to understand. And it may seem funny to you foreigners but it was nothing but. It was and still remains a thinly veiled political song about our situation at the time. Not that it has changed since then.
34:33 Azerbaijan is the best🇦🇿 Sabina Babayeva ft. Alim Gasımov -When the music dies. Sounds perfect! The song is perfect! It was an injustice... Because Azerbaijan was twice 1. and this time eurovision was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.Even if we did not win, we were very proud. Also, we are brothers with Turkey. Also the "look what I can do" at 57:04 was in reference to a popular skit with a character by the name of Stuart, done on an american TV show called Mad TV it was basically a competitor to SNL in the early 2000s.
Legit stopped in the middle of another video when I saw this was up. As always, you three are so stinkin' funny! PS: For iconic DJs, you should show them "Roadtrip" by De vet du featuring DJ Hunk, from Melodifestivalen 2017.
@@alexandrumic Oh, then you're in for a treat! The lyrics are in Swedish, but you don't need to understand what they're saying to appreciate DJ Hunk, and the... let's just say "unique" stage show. ;) Think great singer meets comedic act meets speedway fanclub meets sexy car wash.
It is so funny how Alex tries to hide from Lauren and Mike that Euphoria is his favorite. I really love watching these videos. They are so much fun!!!!!!!!!
Small note about the end performance: That wasn't Loreen missing cues, it's her usual singing style (she always does a lot of ad-libbing/improv including beat delays, harmonization etc.) and it's how she always sings. I actually think she really had to restrain herself from doing any of that during the competition haha, but after winning she didn't have to think about that anymore and so the ad-libbing quickly returned. (she doesn't always do it as frequently in just one performance though, it's often more subtle and evenly placed, but I do remember chuckling when I saw her performance after she'd won because it was like she had had to reign it in for so long during the competition and so afterwards it all just came out at once, haha)
Just for information (because you compared this song with the diva song ) the singer who sings the song from the 5th element (diva song) is also Albanian her name is Inva Mula suus is my fav song from Albania
as montenegro was robbed in 2012 (obviously) i really feel that there needs to be a reaction video especially for the musical excellence that is euro neuro :)
I dont know why but i really love to watch your friends reacting! Mike and Lauren are such a cool and fun couple. Love them ! btw I am from Turkey and you are so right about saying us. Last ten years We won one time at 2003,In 2010 we have 2.,2004 2007 2009 we finished at 4.th Place 2008 and 2012 we finished at 7..Thats why you know that the biggest problem is not the politic voting.this is only an excuse. the problem is the sexualism and LGBTQI for our president and his small brain. I really hope one day we will back stronger than ever. Huge loves from Turkey ! Kisses. xx
I actually feel soooo sad now. I keep getting comments from Turkish fans and I didn't know this was a government thing. I actually though people didn't want to watch it anymore. I really hope the situation will change soon !!!!
alexandrumic Noo ,Actually we have a lot of Turkish Eurovision fan.Maybe we are one of the most carring European country of this show. This competation was so important for our people. Every year we were looking forward to watch ESC. we always send best singers in our Country for win.(Sertab,Hadise,Manga,Kenan,Athena etc.) But one day President decide to change everyting.Cuz they say that we can't publish this compatiton anymore because of Sexual things. But Turkish people really love to watch ESC. A lot of people still trying to turn back..Sending mails to President for come back to ESC.it is not working yet. Still really surprised as to how inspired Norway seem to have been by Sweden the previous year (Eric Saade) Really proud of Loreen's performance, Also, still really like Estonia's, Serbia's and Germany's entries. One of the best German entries of all time in my opinion
Love this channel! *the best of this kinde on RUclips* I can't wait for 2017 and finally for Junior Eurovision. You can start with 2014 and go on but 2016 - 2019 is really the good stuff
Do you know: that Angun is the best singer from Indonesia, but she has also french nationality. Azerbaijan had to build arena in one year for Eurovision because they had none. They spend 100 million euros. Bubushka sang in their ethnic Finnish language and not Russian. Loreen is originally from Marroco, and belongs to berber ethnic group.
I'll be waiting for 2015 patiently. Oh please make sure to show the next one's whole opening please. It was my all time favourite openings. Even the intro please. And Petra showing up to the stage from bellow. I don't know how many times I've seen it. Also Loreen is a QUEEN OMG I just realized my favourite opening was in the Semi wth. Why couldn't they do this for the final. Could you show them this one instead please?
I'm Greek and I don't know what "You make me want your Aphrodisiac" even supposed to mean. It's like they thought of the title of the song first, and then the actual lyrics. But eventually it turned out like nonsense.
@@alexandrumic I don't see how it's hard to understand hahaha aphrodisiacs are food or drugs that arouse someone's sexual desire.... I think it's as clear as it can get hahahaha AS IN: he makes her want to, you know... 18+
Usually with the Greek songs (despite being catchy), the lyrics dont make any sense. E.g. 2017 and 2020. I still will never get over Demy’s line “this is love, rain falls from the sky”
Oh no!! They meant “Chili’s”... an American restaurant... not chili the food!!! They thought it looked like the commercial for that restaurant... which I don’t like...
I insist, I love Mike´s ear!! he can hear hidden bad notes easily, and when a singer goes for a high note, and I think he hasn´t notice this, he pauses and waits to hear if the singer can reach the notes, (clear expample, with Pastora Soler singing..And I enjoyed his poker face when Cyprus was performing hahaha. Just a tip, Alex, you should check some trivias that are online for every edition, for example when Lauren asks about the name of the songs when they are in a diferent language, or see their reaction if they would have know that Anguun´s (France) dress was made by Galiano, or when the Puertoricans mentioned the ethnic look of Loreen, to tell them about her roots. You know, just to add an extra touch, would be cool. I can´t wait for the next video!
Great video reaction. Thanks so much to Mike and Lauren for such high places for Ukraine. This particular ukrainian entry is usually hated by ESC fans.

You can perform for a different country. Like for example you are from Sweden, you can represent Armenia if you won on the national selection.
I knew... but people keep telling me I talk too much so I didn't want to start a whole conversation there
@@alexandrumic I actually like the parts where you "educate" the guys about Eurovision information and trivia
Yeah but at least one (or two, I'm not entirely sure) of the people present on the stage has to be a citizen of the country represented (back vocalists included because they are counted as well)
@@ivandapa6024 Well that is already given since the country represented is the one providing back up singers.
49:03
Spain's best entry of the decade... ❤
my first Eurovision was from this year, 2012, because i want to see Anggun who represented France at time (she's born in Indonesia, my country) but ended up falling in love with Loreen. Euphoria is still my fav till now.
2012 is one of my favorite years
I think you should react to Petras middle performances in 2013, and then when it’s time, Måns and Petra as presenters in 2016! :)
Not gonna say it's a good song but definitely a good laugh 😂
@@ZiaHere. Music wise it isn't and the singers didn't have a good voice. Lyric wise was very good but difficult to understand. And it may seem funny to you foreigners but it was nothing but. It was and still remains a thinly veiled political song about our situation at the time. Not that it has changed since then.
@@pennybleta2300 would you mind explaining the situation and how the lyrics relate? Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant with respect to this topic
34:33 Azerbaijan is the best🇦🇿
Sabina Babayeva ft.
We love them very much. 45:37 Jan Bonomo
Also the "look what I can do" at 57:04 was in reference to a popular skit with a character by the name of Stuart, done on an american TV show called Mad TV it was basically a competitor to SNL in the early 2000s.
I loved Mad TV.... and Miss Swan !!!! she was my favorite
You are the best! Finally something I can watch while waiting for breaking the fast.
🖖
Legit stopped in the middle of another video when I saw this was up. As always, you three are so stinkin' funny!
PS: For iconic DJs, you should show them "Roadtrip" by De vet du featuring DJ Hunk, from Melodifestivalen 2017.
Also, I hope you continue to show your reactors the whole shows. Personally, I just can't get enough of them!
I don't know that one... it will be a first for me too !!!
@@alexandrumic Oh, then you're in for a treat! The lyrics are in Swedish, but you don't need to understand what they're saying to appreciate DJ Hunk, and the... let's just say "unique" stage show. ;) Think great singer meets comedic act meets speedway fanclub meets sexy car wash.
really enjoyed this, thank you for taking the time to do it :)
Keep doing that! Can't Wait to see their reaction in 2014😍
It is so funny how Alex tries to hide from Lauren and Mike that Euphoria is his favorite. I really love watching these videos. They are so much fun!!!!!!!!!
Haha, the poker face
As always, Mike and Lauren prove to be the perfect people to have as reactors ^-^
Just for information (because you compared this song with the diva song ) the singer who sings the song from the 5th element (diva song) is also Albanian her name is Inva Mula
suus is my fav song from Albania
Yessss I’ve been waiting for this !
This is superb video, liked it very much. Liked comments about Turkey :) Greetings from Turkey! :))
as montenegro was robbed in 2012 (obviously) i really feel that there needs to be a reaction video especially for the musical excellence that is euro neuro :)
And in 2013 they were robbed more with igranka
Best Eurovision ever!! Love from Azerbaijan
Agree! 🖖
I dont know why but i really love to watch your friends reacting! Mike and Lauren are such a cool and fun couple. Love them ! btw I am from Turkey and you are so right about saying us. We were so succesfull before we leave.
But i believe that he left from president we will come back. ☺️
Ferhat Erkılıç I really hope you do come back! You keep sending such quality acts!
@@ferhaterklc3728 The reason for TRT withdrawing was Sweden's push to bring back the juries and the big 5 rule. I mean as a Greek Cypriot I hate Erdogan as much as anyone but he was Prime minister during the previous decade that you guys participated and won. If it was for the reasons you say he would have done it a lot earlier
Nicolo A oh thank you! I really hope so too. 🙏🏽
Still really surprised as to how inspired Norway seem to have been by Sweden the previous year (Eric Saade)
Really proud of Loreen's performance,
Also, still really like Estonia's, Serbia's and Germany's entries. One of the best German entries of all time in my opinion
Love this channel! *the best of this kinde on RUclips*
I can't wait for 2017 and finally for Junior Eurovision. You can start with 2014 and go on but 2016 - 2019 is really the good stuff
4:55 Mike pretty much hit the nail on the head with his comment there. Engelbert Humperdinck was a big name in the 60s and 70s.
In Greek and Cyprus we have a female name "Koula' so every woman with that name loved Estonia. It was like he was singing about them xD
💖
that opening ceremony was epic!
i hope you hit 3000 subscribers by tomorrow.. i honestly been watching this multiple times today haha.. can't wait for the 2013..
Thank you!!! I’m keep an eye on the subscribers. Maybe I’ll do a live chat for the 3000s.
@@alexandrumic yeah why not... I'll be there
Lauren is the best, from her reactions to her outfit, we need her for every video
-Oh, They are performing!
- Yes, and they're making cookies at the same time!
Ok I'm subscribed 😂
I'll be waiting for 2015 patiently. Oh please make sure to show the next one's whole opening please. It was my all time favourite openings. Even the intro please. And Petra showing up to the stage from bellow. I don't know how many times I've seen it. Also Loreen is a QUEEN OMG I just realized my favourite opening was in the Semi wth. Why couldn't they do this for the final. Could you show them this one instead please?
I also soooo want to see 2015 and Loïc, but unfortunately, the video is blocked here in Belgium.
Thanks😍😍 Love From Azerbaijan🇦🇿
57:08 mike makes Mickey Mouse sound "look what i can do haha" lmao... i can't stop laughing... :D
Yeah that's a funny one
I'm Greek and I don't know what "You make me want your Aphrodisiac" even supposed to mean. It's like they thought of the title of the song first, and then the actual lyrics. But eventually it turned out like nonsense.
At some point I thought it might be "You make me want. You're aphrodisiac" ... not sure if that make more sense...
@@alexandrumic yes, kinda. But still it's nonsense 😂
Maybe she was just craving shellfish when she wrote it.
24:02 guys it was not chili 😂
We call it "sumaq" it has sour taste amazing with meat 🤤😀❤
Oh cool we have it in our cuisine as well!
Oh no!! They meant “Chili’s”... an American restaurant... not chili the food!!! They thought it looked like the commercial for that restaurant... which I don’t like...
@@alexandrumic lol got it 😂👍
Amazing! Reminded me how good Eurovision 2012 was! I'm so sad 2020 had to be cancelled :(
Ukraine was my favourite act that year. I loved your reactions.
Please react to more ESC Finals!!! Some older too, like start from 2000 and go till 2019... :-)
You guys are amazing! I´m watching you every time! Keep it up!!!
That was the best eurovision ever. Azerbaijan made a great work and Sweden, Serbia and Turkey were the best songs of that year
So much fun! And the training wheels are off, a whole show this time. You guys are great. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thank you for the appreciation!!! It’s all we need!
You guys are lovely. Your comments are alway respectful and of course an American perspective on this crazy show will always be different.
just watching this and realizing that this was really a good year for ESC. I like most of the songs at least a bit.
Albania Rona Nishliu -Suus pure art... was an epic moment in ESC
Love from Azerbaijan ♥️
Burda da tapdım özümüzkiləri :D
yesssssssssssssssss... finally!!! i'm bored at home... thank you!!
I looove these videos, thanks guys 🤗💕
everyone is here to see them react at loreen 🤣
Obviously! ❤
43:10 BTW.
Love you Azerbaijan ❤❤❤❤
Mike and Lauren are amazing,i hope to see them reacting again:)
Love these reactors ❤️
I will say only this: Alex you rock man, you never fail to impress! Definitely the best ESC reactions on RUclips :D Salute
Thank you so much for watching and liking it!!! This is all I need to know, that people enjoy it!!
This is so great!!
It would be nice one day watching "Americans reaction to eurovision semi finals" and seeing who would be their qualifers!
Indonesian french singer, Anggun performed well on the stage. Love her style so much.
I really like these reaction videos :-D Everytime someone says "Oh my God!", "interesting.." or something like that I just go "Welcome to Eurovision!"
Lauren always winning! I would love watch Eurovision with her! She is very funny ❤
👍🖖
Great video reaction. Thanks so much to Mike and Lauren for such high places for Ukraine. This particular ukrainian entry is usually hated by ESC fans.
The Baking Grannies! I forgot they where in that year! Well, that’s the spirit of Eurovision right there. Silly, but *everyone* loved them. All 700 mil+.
