...bought one of your pistol grip large levers for my original Marlin Guide Gun...you never had the standard lever so I ordered a new pistol grip butt stock from Boyd's and had my gunsmith do both installs...can't do small work anymore thanks to a stroke 21 years ago...but happy I can still walk, talk & shoot...
Found you from a TGC video, glad i did,i only have 3 lever guns,my henry 22 lr & 2-marlin 30-30's. 1 30-30 is tattered(bought from a friend & the other i bought brand new. Im wanting to take the tattered 1 & take it down to just the wood grain & keep it that way. Im new to upgrades for lever action so very happy i found your channel. Now that i am done with 5.7x28 collection im wanting to invest in my lever actions. I so want the big boy in 30-30,maybe someday lol. Glad i subbed & looking forward to catching up on some videos. Im not very saavy on the mechanics of this sfuff & rely on many channel to learn how to break down, work on & up grade my favorites in my collection. I will be setting up a room for my collection here very soon & been watching videos on the how to's & what nots of a decent display & the one behind you with all those levers is a very nice display, thats what im wanting to create, but i have quite a few to hang & its gonna take a while & some finiguring out lol. Glad i subbed.
Very good upgrades for sure! I was wondering: what gun is the third from the top over your right shoulder (the green one) and do you have a video on it? It looks awesome!
Thanks! Yep, the green one is a Henry X 30-30. There are several videos of it a while back. It started as a standard rifle and I take you through each progression in the series. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
All my lever rifles get the same three upgrades; first, it’s the BearTooth Merc saddle ring safety delete, the Skinner Peep Sight and the RPP loading gate.
Unfortunately I don’t have any lever guns to upgrade, plenty of them in the safe but they are a combination of old collectors items that don’t go outside unless the weather is perfect and Henry golden boys/big boys that have beautiful walnut with polished brass. Some day I’ll get one that I can mod, Henry big boy X in 45-70 is what is rolling around in my brain. Luckily for my finances I haven’t seen one on a shelf yet or I’d probably own it lol
While I definitely agree with your top 3 choices, for me the #1 upgrade is the RPP lever screws. Eliminates one of the flat head screws and guarantees that no matter where I am, if I'm at the range or out hunting, I can still take my rifle apart for cleaning and maintainence. Currently working on a Henry Model X in 30-30. I have all of the parts I want for upgrades, just neglected the need for a rubber mallet. My dream is to one day own something as custom as a Mad Pig Customs but given I live in Canada where gun ownership as a whole is quite niche, let alone lever gun ownership, I doubt that'll ever happen. I'm just happy RPP services my freedom-adverse country.
What do you think the optimum barrel length is for a 45-70 in order to get full use of the powder? I'm skeptical about the 16 or 18 inch barrels being long enough.
I’d recommend 44 mag simply for cost and availability of ammunition so you can spend time shooting and enjoying it, then save the money you would have spent on 45-90 ammunition to then go and buy the 45-90!
Yes. I have the handguard, takedown screw, and alloy magazine follower on my stainless 336. I'll get the medium loop lever when stainless is back in stock. I have a two-round quiver from Haptic mounted on the handguard. Loading gate, trigger, and lightweight magazine tube may follow at some point.
Now if Ruger can get their act together and produce some rifles ! Since acquiring Marlin.... well I will keep my comment clean. However, Ruger... get some product produced..... or sell the company back to Remington or someone who can.
My first upgrade was a lever take down screw. Makes cleaning so much easier!
Definitely a good investment 👍

I’m not with Ranger Point, but they are a client of mine (I do a lot of photography for them) Thanks for watching!
Hey Hey! I see our parts are being put to good use!
Oh yeah! Great stuff 👍
I like the lever and trigger but I’m not a fan of handguards on lever guns, but on a stainless gun it works.
Just wrapped up my Henry all weather .44 mag upgrades. Great video to get folks started!
Awesome! And thank you!
Great discussion thank you for seeing this video out of the blue I have no context on the names of the rifles that would be helpful what are they?

Thanks for coming over! Lots of info here and lots more to come!
Can we get a video on how you polish the action on the Marlin 1895?

My favorite upgrades are #1 RPP medium loop lever #2 RPP handguard
Can't beat them! 👍🤠

Yeah you gotta let those stay original 👍 You’ll love getting to tinker with one when you find it. Good luck and thanks for watching!
That's like buying a classic muscle car but not driving it. Go shoot those things and get some wear on them!

lookin' at a handguard replacement also for a small red dot...
You’ll love the Costa setup for that 👍
What do you think the optimum barrel length is for a 45-70 in order to get full use of the powder?

Depends on the burn rate of the powder. Reloading puts that variable into your hands
Still stuck on a 45-90 Ruger/Marlin 1895 sbl or 44 mag Henry Mod X for my first level action. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with Jay! 44 is much more available, and less expensive. Definitely a great way to go 👍
I was leaning towards the 44 mag also due to the ammo issue but I only plan on buying one lever action, that is where I ran into the dilemma.
Where would we be able to find that handguard?
perfect as always
Thank you!
What’s the best optic for model x?
Are these upgrade able to be done on any marlin 336?
Lyman peep sight
Good video
Thanks!
Take me out tonight!
very hard to get them - I am from Czech republik - US market first :-(
Oh man, sorry. That’s rough.

It would be nice to see bigger numbers coming out. I think they are still working things out a bit. I’m sure it’ll get better.
