📜 Video Description 📜
An action packed session ranging from maximising value with nutted hands to bluff catching in overbluffed spots. Bet sizing is also a key teaching point of today's video as well as how to adjust to weak uncontrolled aggressive opponents.
I CANT BELIEVE THIS GUY ONLY HAS 6K SUBS!!!11!
it's honestly encouraging lol. The best RUclips teacher of poker is not getting many views through no fault of his own, but because most people don't want to put the effort in to really learn the game.
It’s actually all you guys’ fault for not subscribing liking and commenting enough. Shame on you all.
Great video and great content, thank you!
I was wondering why you were lost in the 8c6c hand w/o a randomizer? In a previous video you said do not think about frequencies.
Thank you! My hand is a clear mix so I was lost only in so far as to how to implement a mix without an RNG. I hadn’t lost my understanding of the spot or anything like that and I don’t care about getting frequencies exactly right. Frequencies are a strategic luxury. I care more that my students avoid blundering. If they blunder while obsessing about frequencies that’s a huge issue.
Why don't we have to bet this hand on the turn? I think I must be have a big misunderstanding in my game. I would've thought that with 8-high we have a big incentive to bluff and with the open ended straight draw it's one of our best bluff candidates - if he calls and we get there we can barrell for value which we can't if we use bluffs with no draw
Oh I just watched it again and saw you said that it is gonna bet often. But still, why not 100% for this hand?
Love the analysis and humor. Thanks for the vids!
Thanks for the comment. Glad you liked this one.
Like your humor 🤣, and more "liveplay"-format than deep analysis 😉
LOL happy to see sanct1tyy still grinding poker :D
how the fuck you remember this 10% 3bet in gto range?!!
Spidey sense > true EV
Do you play higher stakes than 200 nl?
Not currently but I have some ideas for this sort of content later in the year.
Going to have to remember to type "Would you like a coffee? You're so cool! I love your hair!" into the chat next time I have a fish sat to my direct right. Thanks for the pro tip!
I like the mix of live play and hand review.
Also would like to see another video outlining ways to study. The video you did with Akosh (Indian CRUSHER) about drilling a single node changed how I approach using the trainer in pio
There will be a lot of content like this on my premium videos which are coming in May.
PS. I have told Akshar that he should be called Akosh. He agreed.
@@CarrotCornerPoker MY BAD! In my defense I identify him with the sword thumbnail before any actual name lol.
Premium content released on RUclips? Or will they be released on carrot corner?
hi Peter, wondering what your win rate is at 200nl? considering buying cash injection so curious
Hard to say exactly as I don’t have much of a recent sample. I’m full time coach and course/content creator at the moment, but grinding a big sample is always at the back of my mind and I want to make content of me doing this at some point in the near future.
There definitely is a bit of ev loss from making content! Love the last call with A9 and it’s a call I would rarely have made before watching your content.
What do we think of villains bluff there tho? If he sizes up to like b150 or something is it harder for us to call? Is it worth it for him to try and take a stab at picking it up with basically 0 sdv, it’s the only way he’s going to win there right?
Yeah hugely overbluffed spot. In theory Villain will do fine bluffing hands like this but the problem is that in theory there are more value bets than there are in pool because solver is good at delaying value. This makes overbluffing very easy for pool. You have to bluff rivers with no SDV in favourable worlds, but not in unfavourable ones where combo selection is a bigger deal. Don’t automatically assume that you have to bluff whenever you don’t have SDV. Assess the spot. Sometimes 0EV is the best you can do.
Thanks for the content ❤
just out of curiosity, do you have an economics background?
Nope my degree is in philosophy. Aka poker training.
Great work as always Carrot Corner
Thank you!
Pete your work is really helping me to become a better poker player.
That’s lovely to hear thanks!
What about a 3rd block bet on river on set of 5’s hand and then fold if raised or is that to thin?
I think it’s definitely too thin after this amount of filtering as villain doesn’t have to raise a tonne of their stronger hands on flop or turn.
downvoted for no peterson impressions (jk)
Well you know these leftist types….MAN
Great content! Why is your open size 2,2 bb instead of 2,5 or 3?
This isn’t a huge deal but it’s due to the 3Bet or fold simplified strategy that’s very popular in today’s meta HJ through to SB.
Higher EV. Opening bigger in early position sucks because you are going to lose more facing 3bets. If your pool is not strong enough / doesn't 3bet enough etc its fine to go 2.5 to 3x early on, but in GTOLand the preferred sizing is actually to minraise from LJ and HJ.
The live plays are good to watch. Would be interesting to see some high stakes play on GG, think it'd also help promote your content given people see higher stakes players as better players regardless of skill.
Yeah this is actually on my radar.
I am pretty sure AudeJavel (?) streams on twitch.
No idea but then I know about 4 poker
players…
Yes french coach, good Player from what i saw
