- I am so excited to show you my first x-large macrame wall hanging!
There is so much inspiration for large scale macrame projects on Pinterest that I just had to try one out for myself.
I’ve been in love with black and white home decor and decided black macrame cord would be the best for my space. Plus, I think a black macrame hanging is perfect for this time of year as we transition into the Halloween season.
(Correction: I used 4mm macrame cord for this project not 3mm)

You didn’t show how to do the diamond part
Each time you make the straight line of half hitch knots do you cut another 5 ft of rope?
Yes, I choose to add another 5ft cord with each row of the double half hitch.
I really love this! I was wondering if you know what the finishing dimensions are? And I might have missed this but what kind of cord? I heard the 3mm but I feel like I always have the wrong kind so I wanted to check
I believe I cut this to be about 3 1/2 feet long in the end. I did use 3mm however you could also use 4mm for a design this large.

For this project I used 4mm cord.

How many Inches
How many yards did you use of the macrame cord? Also if I used 3mm or 5mm will it make a huge difference in the process? Loved this tutorial btw!!!
I used 334 yards of cord for this project but I did end up cutting quite a bit off at the bottom so it could probably be done with less. I cut my cords to be 20 ft but you could probably do the same design with 18 ft cords. The size of the macrame won't make a huge difference in the overall design but a thicker cord will fill out your dowel more so that's something to keep in mind.

It's about 3ft wide and 3 1/2 ft long.
