Hi Justin, I'm from Malaysia and have been a long-time follower of your channel. Just thought you might want to know a lil more about the Sudoku drums. The rubber cymbals, drum modules, and pads are essentially OEMs from China and are essentially the same as the Lemons brand just marketed for Malaysians. They market it here mostly for those who can't really read/speak Chinese, do all of the guesswork, and provide general support so that we don't have to deal with anyone from China. Hope that helps, have a great one!
What is impressive is how many different iterations of this same drum brands and models you can find at different 3rd world countries. I have a hXm module, but here is called PowerDrums, with slightly different pads than in 3:54. I've seen the exact same module with like 2 other different names in neighbor countries of LATAM. Funny enough this happens with motorcycles or electric scooters for example. I used to have a copy of a Yamaha motorcycle called VX-250: In Venezuela it's Keeway, in argentina it's Zanella, in peru it's Skygo and in and in Chile it's Lifan (The original name). It seems that they have like 1 or 2 factories that build circuits, shells, engines, parts, etc and on demand and then different Joint Venture Capitalists request parts and build their own thing out of their minds like legos.
I don't think I've ever come across PowerDrums. It really is amazing the number of drums and cymbals that are all rebranded HXM and Medeli parts. But I also run across stuff that does look unique. Maybe not good, but unique to that company.
Those Lemon cymbals have really helped me keep the cost down on my a2e kit...They work great, they come in great sizes and also they have 1 year guarantee so if they break i can replace them...On a kit as large as mine,if i was to get Roland or ATV cymbals i d go bankrupt
There are two brands that I didn't see in the video that are being sold here in my country, Perú, NU-X and avatar, the second one seems to be something out of medeli or a copy of some alesis drumsets, but NUX is a brand that has very good modules and sounds and also a good competitor to Roland (double zone pads, cymbals with choke or 3 zones)
idk why but I laughed so hard when you said and here is the kid , this time with his mom watching to make sure he does not play any wrong notes lol!!! Just the way you said it, you have a dry humor that kills sometimes, hope your well bro!!!
Yeah I like his channel too, I'm a subscriber. I like my lemon cymbals, but I'm worried about long term durability of the Lemon pads. The way the trigger foam is placed for the internals doesn't scream "this will last 10 years" to me. But who knows
Random question....Roland td17kvx for 1600 or Simmons sd1250 for 800? Both new. Uses would be recording, live jamming, and if course practicing. Thanks!
This is a really cool video Justin. I love how these Chinese companies are trying so much crazy stuff. Looks like so much fun to play with all this stuff.
one ridiculous thing in China is the most popular Roland model is still TD-11, an almost 10-year old product, and dealerships are trying hard to promote them because they can get the most profit out from it...
It's my understanding Roland doesn't even manufacture that set anymore. So maybe they just have piles of extra drum sets to get rid of, and they decided China was the country to off-load them? Who knows?
Do a Carlsbro CSD120M review... The module sounds alone are on par with Alesis Nitro module. Pads on par with Roland. It’s has very usable double choke and is cheap enough to buy 2 and expand.
@@65Drums maybe they made tweaks since then….In a head to head the sounds are on par with Nitro. Carlsbro was better due to more effective crosstalk canceling. Pads nearly identical to Roland. Perhaps could be covered in a “best portable kits for the money” review. Trickle down tech…stunning what you can get today for very little. We are using this in Studio snd getting passable results.
Very tempted to get a Lemon T-850 and use it with my TD-17. I've heard good things about the cymbals but nothing about the pads. It reminds me of a TD30/TD50
@@frazz06 you are right. I like the lemon T-850 aesthetic but I’m thinking of getting a surge mesh. Move the snare to the left and achieve my idea of a 3-up and one down e-kit. Ima buy an alesis 12 inch snare pad separate. Cymbals later.
Not really into these brands but I have a question. I see on Alibaba Roland VAD706-GE kits at 1/10 of the price in store. I'm really curious to know if anyone bought these kits and if they are legit.
@@Dremon69 I'd have to play it some more, but my gut reaction is that it's roughly on par with Avatar. I own some Lemon cymbals but never played their drums or module. So I can't say much about them
Thoses products are not for you, "first world countries users". This is the way we third world countries drummers have the chance to play drums. We cannot aford Roland, alesis, etc. Their prices are so high for our economies and budggets,
Trust me we in the states can’t afford the Roland VAD’s or the Pearl Mimics either!!! All we have to do is wait and see what Dw/Roland does next… Maybe they’ll come out with an affordable PDP electronic drum set with triple and Dual zone triggering and acoustic sizes???
The OEM for lemon drums is Oriental Gears and they are even more affordable they offer a china and effects cymbal pads as well as the 18" ride a high-hat controler that is better quality then the one by goe edrum it's bassically the same as the Roland vh11
Unless you know something I don’t, that’s not quite the situation. Oriental Gears does not make Lemon. I worked with that guy before he came up with that name. My understanding is that he orders cymbals from the factory without the Lemon branding, and then sells it as Oriental Gears.
the best part about Justin's commentary is he's absolutely merciless whether he's calling out his own pronunciation or everyone else's broken English
The lemon drum set hurt my feelings

Shoutout to that kid ripping up the Hailun kit.
On Amazon right now there is a company called Shuntian selling a knock off Roland TD-17KVX for $8440.20. And I'm not even kidding about that price.

Used to have ride and sold it for efnote 20". It worked just fine
Not gonna lie... I kinda want that drum shirt 😬
They are like $12 last I checked
Sudoku Lexus Extreme14 Pro - when a company had fun at the „random buzz word slot machine“.
I just watched a video a guy released last week where he tested a Lemon mesh pad. It actually seemed to work really well.

Well I've owned both, and the TD17KVX was miles and miles better in my opinion

Sudoku, hailun and xm sets looks cool ngl
Bike parts are the same with sometimes funny names. I bought a Suking brand stem😅
lol nice 😂, I'm done trying to upgrade my bike myself. I have a Trek Marlin, every time I try to get new parts I make things worse doing the install
I believe Roland vintage V Drum E kits had a red rack, purple rack and a blue rack . I've owned the purple one.
TD-6 has a blue rack. I still have one.
The lemon drum demo 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂
Great video and there are so many different Asian brands!!👍
4:11 "Carhs" cymbals
Really REALLLYYY curious about the Lemon T950 set, as the cymbals they make are pretty decent especially for the Price
I use a TD-17 module, but I got the same snare / toms / kick from the T950 shipped to me last year and they have taken a year of abuse just fine

Pretty sure that is VST sounds unfortunately

THE SILICON!
Here in chile we have hampback drums, but i dont find any video or something to know the Quality of the brand :(

What's your take on the Fame drums
Not sure, I've never come across one. These seem like pretty standard chinese made kits like Carsbro or Alesis. But I don't know for sure
