It’s all rumors and fairytales. Typically these stories are told by lonely elders that are willing to make up a story for some attention and company. Ask me how I know, I grew up in Pennsylvania Appalachians and my grandparents live in the West Virginia Appalachian mountains. I’ve only had a few scary encounters in the woods alone at night which I frequented in the summer time. Someone walked up on my bonfire. I heard something and pointed my 1,000 lumen flash light in that direction, once I saw his eyes glowing in the light, standing 6ft tall peeking out from behind a tree I started yelling “hey, who is that” no response, i started moving towards the person not wanting to show fear and I yelled “Hey” again. This time when I yelled whatever it was ran to its side ducking behind trees, even tho the eyes were only 40 yards from me the figure was in all black and I lost track, immediately hopped on my atv and start riding the trails in the direction he ran looking for that him but I never found him or saw him again. Another time I was sitting by my fire and had 2 flashlights approaching me from a long ways away. At first I just sat there and watch the lights coming towards me unsure if it was maybe a neighborhood hunting or even the police looking for someone but I got a bad feeling in my gut so again I hopped on my atv and left so quick I didn’t even bother to put out the fire. It had been a very dry couple weeks and when I went down the next afternoon all my wood I had placed on the fire before leaving wasn’t burnt and instead wet. This 100% confirmed there is humans hanging out on my property at night. I’ve asked the neighbor’s and it’s none of them. The only things I can think of is game wardens, poachers or some creeps hanging around in the woods. Lastly, I have seen Coyotes and bear🐻. It’s a unsettling feeling when you hear coyotes howls surrounding you which most likely means they are hunting you or something near you although this has never scared me enough to leave the woods, I always just start making a bunch of loud noise by revving engine, throwing things and hitting logs against trees or clapping, yelling, and starting a fire. Very loud noise and fire is going to make any animal understand that it’s your prey and you are not its prey, so they flee.

Love these videos. But the first video was like a couple a man and a women alone in the woods with basically no survival instinct. Smoking weed in the woods, talk about putting yourself at a disadvantage. Not to mention a tent ain’t stopping a serial killer
Plot twist: The Appalachians are a great place to be but the locals make these stories up so that people won't visit or move there. Like some Scooby Doo villain.
Story number two, when you listen to it, or any kind of story like this, you would never ever ever ever ever ever ever and your wildest days believe it wholeheartedly, until it happens to you. @@JesusLightsYourPath I couldn’t tell you what the one from behind me looked like, but I did see one across the road about three weeks later, long arms and legs, the skin was pretty much, barely stretched over the bones, and the head was shaped almost like a horse, but the muzzle a lot longer and thinner the ice sockets almost went into the abyss

A couple camping on the Appalachian Trail encountered a strange man who made them uneasy with his behavior and comments, including asking how much he seemed like a serial killer. A man driving through the Appalachian region saw a strange creature that looked like a mix between a man and a dog, leading him to believe it was something supernatural. A couple hiking in the Appalachians experienced unsettling events, including hearing something imitate their dog's barking perfectly, suggesting something unknown was watching them. A woman hiking the Appalachian Trail encountered strange voices and two men with sinister intentions, leading her to hide and survive until she was rescued days later.
