Travelling is a learning process about the people, culture, traditions and food. I have a negative opinion of Albania 🇦🇱 as I must have allowed the negative things I've heard over the years about "The Albanian gang" to cloud my judgement, thanks for showing us the other side of the coin.

My husband's family is from a small Greek minority village on the border of Greece and Albania. Everyone is lovely but they don't always see many Black people so there is naturally a lot of curious staring. Being someone from Jamaica that was raised in the island and also in NYC, it was definitely an intimidating situation. Most of the staring came from men that were looking at me in a sexual manner even as I travelled hand-in-hand with my husband and my in-laws. Unfortunately sex trafficking is a thing so just be careful and alert. Better to travel with a group as you are doing anyway! Have fun!!

My husband is Albanian and the first time i went there i felt so weird how a woman wanted to take a pic of me with her son as if seeing a black woman was like seeing a unicorn. But that was more than 10 years ago. I think now there are more black ppl in Albania than before.
@@sossoft Yes for sure! When I went to Greece, there were also lots of Africans there than I had seen before. So I do agree that it was worse especially more than 10 years ago. My mom's ex was Slovenian and she spent a summer in Slovenia and Croatia back in 2005/2006. She said it was extremely beautiful but they thought she was a prostitute because the only Black women she encountered were prostitutes back then unfortunately.
