The main cmponent of the Airfix club each year is of course the exclusive kit. This year Airfix have put a new scheme on their Me410 and well, it worked on me!
Before I get craking I suppose we best take a look inside the box and see what being an Airfix Club member gets you this year.

I do quite like that the 2 schemes are the same aircraft. Pre and post capture
Hi Cpt.
Nice unboxing, loads of fun as usual! 😁👍 I haven't even looked at mine yet, so now I don't need to! 🤣🤣 I quite like the idea of having this kit in it's primary scheme and then in its captured scheme. Very clever by Airfix. 👌 I also bought the original release and haven't built that yet either! I do like the Airfix club and I personally believe it's good value for money. Even if you don't use the club discount very much, you get a kit and stuff! and you belong to a club that brings back many happy memories for me personally. Personal choice I guess but don't get people dissing it! 😮
Anyhoo....... great vid mate thanks! 👍👊
The RAF had two schemes: A and B for their upper surface camouflage. Essentially they are mirror images of each other. Generally, odd serial numbered aircraft used scheme A and even serials used B, but not always
I will be making the captured version as it looks great. Canopy mask sets are a saviour, eliminates hours of tedious work.
i have the first release of this kit, and I'm gradually building up the courage to build it! as you've shown here its quite the complicated build!
According to Google Translate 'aufklarungsgruppe' is the German for 'reconnaissance group' :)
Disappointing that yet again there is no pilot and yet there /is/ a flying option..
[Edit: On Discord today someone said that about 20 friends had the Member's kit, all with scratched canopies!]
Hi, I think the reference to A and A scheme refers to the original Nazi paintwork that’s underneath (?) the RAF paint?
This was great timing as my kit arrived today and so I went through it with you Cpt!
Me also the RAF scheme although I intend to ‘bastardise’ my model , as I often do, and include some Nazi bits and vice versa …… I shall have drop tanks on my RAF version and I shall not be bothering with all those tiny tiny stencils!! I mean why? It’s not going into a show and I model for me not for historical accuracy .
I mean how many models are really period accurate? I don’t weather all my kits either they are straight out the factory and on to the dealers floor!!
One day I shall have the six Harriers in my stash all identical, shiny and new in a dealership diorama! ACE 😊
Great video

Bog standard Airfix? Highly detailed and brilliantly engineered. Modelling is about modelling,a challenge is part of it. New modellers, less experienced get loads of help with the instructions. Massive imrovements since 2012. If they did less detail theyd get critisized for that. In the old days this would be seen as a series 3 kit aka more advanced. If we dont like modelling then why do the hobby. Check out the instructions on kits from the 70s onwards. I wondered why they chose this subject as last uear the 410 was a big surprize and a rare subject. So i imagine a lot had this kit already. Nice markings, interesting aircraft. Airfix are aware every experience level and age are buildung the models so some instructions may seem obvious but to some arent. Plenty of plastic for the money.
interesting that my copy also has some flash on the lower wing part, and issues with the propellors, my upper one is fine but the lower one is completely missing, with stress marks on the sprue gate where yo would expect the part to be, but my clear parts are fine
2 schemes for the GB version
Nice kit. Personally, I would prefer it if Airfix just left out the kitsch gimmicks. Best wishes.
