Nice work John - very helpful as I will be attaching my rudder in the near future. Thanks!
Thanks for your comment, glad you found this video useful
thank you for taking the time to view todays video. please dont forget to like and comment. keep modelling
Makes you wonder and respect how Victory's carpenter's lifted all those huge Oak timbers into position using just sling blocks.
Brilliant work John , looking stunning. Yourself and Wayne have made me want to build this oneself but the children want to eat , hopefully in the future will be able to do it, keep bringing the videos out so I can see what I am missing .Thanks
Thanks Steve for your comment. I’m the same mate. I brought this kit back in 2018. I wouldn’t be able to buy it now
Very nice! The cupper plates are making your ship one of a kind! Super. You are a very patient man and a craftsman in modeling.
Thank you peter for your kind words. Comments like yours helps keep me going and trying to improve the content I upload to my channel
Nice work John! Also goes to show that using the proper tools and taking your time is very important!
Hi Ron, I would say that’s the most important part of model ship building , take your time. And never rush the sections your working on
She's looking great bud
thank you charlie. cheers for the support to my channel mate
@@Johnbuildsiconic i like following your channel as i am following WoW on his build too. The ship caught my attention and im very impressed with the builds you do
I’m glad Charlie, when I first started the build on my channel, most of my audience was mostly in the 55:65s age group, but this last year. I’ve start to get views from the 25/35/45 age group. So Im happy with that. I dont want this form of modelling to die out
@@Johnbuildsiconic I'm going to give it a go when I get my own place on the Yamato first. Seeing yours I wouldn't have any where to work on it much less display it
Yes mate. You need a large workspace. I’ve a full room and still need more space mate
very good work John! the copper plating is just perfect!
Thank you Alex. I picked the copper tape because of cost really , to use real copper plating for the hull was 100s of pounds. But with the copper tape. The total cost was just two rolls of copper tape at £20. And I’m really happy with the end result.
@@Johnbuildsiconic I also bought 2 rolls of it! i wanted to try it on my Victory also... its already painted but...why not?
Bet the tape looks really good on your victory mate
Great job John. Like always :)
Thank you tomasz

Hi john.
Love the videos. Have you ever thought about marking a ship from scratch?? I've cutting the ribs and so on??
Hi Matt thank you for your comment., yes I’m looking at making a scratch cross section build next, then a full scratch build
@@Johnbuildsiconic I'll be starting a HMS Fearless with the plans from jecobin. 1/96 scale tho
Is there a website you can buy the plans from ??
Yes there is. I'll get the link for you

Thank you eddy
Your video footage motivate me to keep working on my model, HMS Bounty by constructo. Keep up the good work, John. Thank you very much for sharing your expertise.
im the same peter, i like to watch a couple of channels, that are building real ships, they motivates me to get modelling
A general question: I’ve built a number of sailing vessels, and they all have in common what looks like an undersized rudder for the mass of the ship. How did these things actually turn, or even maintain a course with so little steering force?
Im bob how much was the model
Hi Bob. The kit is from model space.com. And cost around £899. But I brought the full kit off eBay for around £350
