I've traveled a lot, mostly in the US. With the exception of cities I've felt safe in most places. I've never been to Thailand, so I can't say how safe it is, but if you want to feel safe in the US move north and east of NY. Safest states in the nation. Maybe Trump's protectionist policies will help with the rest idk. 🤷♂
I imagine it's such a culture shock to live in this place. But I've been divorced over 20 years, no kids. Young beautiful Thai women can be such a lure. My cousin met a Thai woman when he was in the army during vietnam war. She was from a prominent family there. They were against the marriage and so was my relatives. He brought here to the U.S. They're married maybe 55 years, have 2 boys in their 50's, grandchildren. They're now elderly and not so well but have had a great life together and everyone loves her.
it's not easy for a foreigner to become a Thai citizen. You are tested on your reading, writing and speaking Thai. Your interviews will only be in Thai. You will be asked to sing the Thai National Anthem and the King's National Anthem.

Thailand is one of the safest places in the world... IMO Thailand has the safety of Singapore WITHOUT the expense... Kuala Lumpur too...
