I lived in Wales for 7 years, grew up in the North. Now I live in England, but my heart is still very much in Wales. Once you experience the freedom and you move you soon realize just how much you've lost. I miss it so much.
I'm an old dude and I just got into MTB a couple years back and I just want to say that this is an inspiring video to try and go harder and higher. Thanks and continued success to you and your friends, fam' and team!! GnJapan
To think that that's one mans work on that quary is simply amazing!.. it's a thing of beauty & to watch two brothers ride it for 1st time is beyond 😎 cool!..
Well put. I raced motocross for 6 years and in all reality I respect mountain bike riders a whole lot more. No sport is better than another, just enjoy doing what you do and respect others for what they do.
Love watching this, it always provides inspiration for new filming and building projects and love watching the Atherton's, they have such a great sibling relationship. Hitting these huge jumps with each other has to be one of the best feelings in the world. Heroes.
did i hell haha! there absolutely massive, like crazy big plus your not aloud too, its for the athertons only think they do special days where you can though.
if there was anything like this in my country than it would have been like a dream come true you guys are really awesome modifying the mountain and riding it
i don't ride a lot of rock either. we have lots of dirt and clay soil. we build big jumps and berms with it. but i know what you mean. sometimes you just need that pure adrenaline rush of going down a rocky rooty section which you haven't ridden before. that's just pure magical experience. I had my last run like that in Malmedy bike park. me and my best biking friend went to go DH and found this new trails all muddy rocky steep and amazing lines. just absolute ADRENALINE. love it. DH 4 LIFE !!!!
When i was younger we had something similar to this down the road at an old brick works and it got turned into residential houses..Oh the memories of the great times was had riding every day after school
For everyone asking for more GoPro, there's a video of the top to bottom run via Gee's GoPro on Pinkbike and the Redbull site. RUclips won't let people post direct links anymore but it's called "gee go pro test" on Redbull and "Video: Gee Atherton - Llangynog Quarry Helmet Cam" in an article on Pinkbike
You know what i do everyday? Sit at home watching downhill videos because i cant get a downhill bike:'( Wish i had one would be the greatest gift ever:(
Save money, go on eBay and you will have a mountain bike...wont be the best thing but its something you can learn and get better then u can get a better more expensive bike in future...
Dude just go on pink bike and get on for cheap it's not that hard or if you still can't afford a dh get a slope style bike with a bit of cushion. I just got the new specialized slope style bike and is holds up in downhill
There's a video somewhere on Pinkbike (good luck finding it, though) with the full line top to bottom. So sick, it's a super smooth line with tons of speed despite the size
Valeu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i learned how to ride a bike when i was 2 lol im now 13 i recently gave up street riding and cross country i think its time to move to Downhill, this has inspired me to do that. the streets of belfast are boring
I agree with the other people that say more gopro. You don't get the true effect of those jumps until you get the POV shots. I'm extremely impressed that he made that course btw. So fucking sick and smoooth,
it be great if redbull could get out there and give us non pro and casual riders the opportunity to learn how to build bigger and better tracks with the pro's so that the next gen of mtb will be constantly pushing the boundaries :) apart from that...awesome video and its motivated the crew i'm with to using the old mine near us
I feel like videos like this should be shown in highschool and/or middle school to kind of show the kids what other kind of sports are out there besides the limited sports offered in the school. Like, i never knew about any other sports or athletic activities outside the school because they were never advertised. If i did, i most likely would have had a more enjoyable time in school

The old BMX bottle and skills on a whole new level. These were young kids when I was racing in my teens. What a great life. Nice chaps, nice!
To think that that's one mans work on that quary is simply amazing!.. it's a thing of beauty & to watch two brothers ride it for 1st time is beyond 😎 cool!..
Whole thin riding, people, editing, location, was mind blowing!
Ive walked up there and i had to lie down. You cannot imagine how massive, steep or beautifully crafted that quarry is. These people are superhuman.

Heroes.
Which is why i'm SO happy my high school has allowed us to have a MTB club now where we can ride whether for fun or competition
The most inspirational film I have ever seen!
Finally i can watch this video in HD and not in pixelated 240p on Red Bulls own video player. Crazy video. Its like Rampage in you backyard

3:37 redbull can even make a dude simply walking with a garden tool look badass.. That's awesome!
if red bull was not around, i think sports would not be the same. Red bull does so much for people and sports.
