      Yes I linked them, as they can be tricky to find on Ali, plus not all sellers are equal on there, this sellers, wrapped them all beautifully, and they arrived in good condition. x Thanks for watching Karen, x❤️

      The Wildflowers book seems to have a lot of Australian flies and fauna. He bird you thought was a kingfisher is a kookaburra. It’s a shame so much of it is repetitive!

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад

      Aahhh, that makes more sense, as I didn't recognise much of the plant life, makes sense now you've said it as there were Parrots as well. 👍 It's an odd book isn't it though, it could be amazing, but the repeated stuff really spoils it for me I think. Missed opportunity I think sadly, and the papers not great either. Its not a book I'd could honestly recommend sadly, x

    I enjoy watching flips of different books, I liked Dream Girl and Where the wildflowers grow. Yes there are too many bees (that made laugh) lol, but the drawings are beautiful.
    Those little watercolor tubes from Schmincke dry out very quick after open, make sure you clean well before putting the cap back, they can get hard to open a second time. Thanks for the flip !

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад +1

      👍 Oh right, I'll perhaps have to clean them before closing them then, thanks👍 The drawings are beautiful, it could have been wonderful book, I'm just not sure I will colour much of it, with so many doubles. I do like getting more unusual books, nice to have different thing I think. Thanks so much for watching, x👍

    I have a ginormous collection of paper dolls from when I was young, including quite a few Dolly Dingles, and quite a few coloring book/paper doll sets. I've always wondered why I never see the paper doll coloring books on Colortube because they are so much fun and often very pretty. Anyway, I'm glad you showed one. 😊

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад +1

      Oh yes agreed, I suppose they aren't everyones thing, but I do like something different, and I was thinking they would be good little quick colours, as you can just do one doll/clothing at a time. Nice memories as well, x (Although perhaps we are showing our age in this!🤣) So pleased you liked it, x💗

    Just saw another colorist who did not have a good thing to say about the paper in Where the Wildflowers Grow….said it was basically impossible to blend colors.

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад +1

      Oh dear, I've not tried colouring in it yet, but yes the paper does feel a little odd. I'm still not sure I shouldn't have sent it back to be honest, the more I look at it, the more I feel I probably wont colour in it. 🥲 I may as well give it a try now I suppose!

      @@wendyscolouring LOL! Well either way it will get some use and serve a purpose, so that's all that matters! I know we all have our own style and how we prefer to use certain supplies! It's all about which way to use it that brings you the most joy. I've used things in coloring that aren't even considered art or coloring supplies lol! But whatever works for you and is enjoyable, I say go for it!

    Great haul Wendy, I love to see books that are new and unique. Question about the Wedding Dress book - what was the paper quality like? I too like to colour dresses/fashion every once in a while and that book it beautiful. I'm hoping it would be able to take a bit of watercolour paint? Thanks for sharing!

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад +1

      Thanks Rose, Hmm honestly the paper feels pretty good, its quite thick, I would think watercolour pencils will be fine on it, if you want to really flood it with watercolour that might be a bit more tricky. I'd guess you will get some warping. I've not tried it yet as it's new, but I would imagine it will be ok, and the images are single sided anyway, so that does help. I'd imagine it will flatten down with some pressure as the paper is thicker. Considering it's a Chinese book, it is good quality, but just not Hanna Karlzon great, if you know what I mean. 👍

    Wendy, Wendy, Wendy!….😂😂😂….tbh? Methinks you are my philosophical twin! Lol. I too made a Promise to make this year a “Low-Buy” year….(.ha! Suuuuuure, DawnMarie! ) I have already accumulated like 35 just since January…🤦‍♀️ Oopsie?…..lol hey at least it’s a “safe” addiction….right?? (Although my wallet might disagree). Anyhoo! Great video as usual! Keep ‘em coming. We can share our addictions that way. (Kidding….? 🤷‍♀️😂)

We have to have something to get excited about right, it's only for fun! I'm at the sneaking books past the husband point now though, he's like, NO more books!😂 Always great to share! xx💗

    Great haul. Happy you showed the Japon one because I've had it on my wishlist for a while but hadn't seen any flip throughs.
    It's weird that the wonderful little world book you got from Amazon France is written in English, but I bought the last 2 from Amazon UK and they are written in French 🤷‍♀️.

That is odd with the Colorya book, I'd thought they would be in French, so was surprised as well. Merman! well! Doh! 😆I knew afterwards, my brain just goes blank sometimes when filming!😆 I think I've just got too much filming/order/lighting/focus etc going on, and my old brain can't cope!😆😂💗

    Fantastic haul Wendy, hope you enjoy all your lovely stuff. Do you just simply squeeze the paint tubes into the empty pans and leave them to dry and then they can be used directly? I prefer pans rather than tubes and want to do that with some of my tube paints too so need tips!

    • @wendyscolouring
      @wendyscolouring  Год назад +1

      Hiya, K, Thank you, x 💗 Yes with the paints, I just fill the pans up, it doesn't actually use up all of the paints in these little tubes, then you need to leave them for around a week, let them dry out totally solid, then you can use them like normal. Only works with the better watercolour brands, cheaper ones don't seem to re-wet very well, but these Holbeins have been great like this. I did this a week ago now, so tried them yesterday, and they are great. They do reduce in the pans to about half though, but I don't mind as it means the paint isn't overflowing out of the pans, and I can top them up with the rest of the tube when they are getting low. 👍
