Mine did that yesterday while I was trying to practice too. I was laying back on my couch following along the fundamentals video and suddenly she's over my shoulder stretching her head out to it and sniffing the ocarina *very* intently. Then she shoved her butt in my face and sat down on my chest in the way lol
Lol I have a few stray cats in my area and they always come when I play so I started playing it before feeding them, now I can't practice outside without being forced into snuggles
Been a Zelda fan since 5 years old and I'm 29 now, but this is my first go at playing ocarina and this so helpful and straightforward. You're a great teacher!
Started playing Ocarina three weeks ago, I am addicted to it, mastered like a dumb all the songs you teached, very good videos Ps. I am not a pro, only mastered the song not how to properly play a ocarina on the right tone
Thank you soooooooo much i didn't know that the orcarina was a real thing untill i saw a advertisement like 4 days ago so instantly bought one very good memory playing orcarina of time with my sister growing up cant wait to play sll the songs :)
Wow, I watched only 2.5 minutes and I'm grinning like a fool. Learning Zelda songs is the entire reason I wanted to learn how to play an ocarina, and now I see that it really can be done in real life. And what's more, it's just like a Tae Known Do form. Take it in pieces, learn them one at a time, and then string them together. I imagine I'll be clumsy at first, but I'll get it smooth eventually. Now back to your fundamentals videos before trying to do this myself.
This was my first ocarina, it's really nice to hear it being played by someone with a woodwind background as it gives an idea how nice it can sound. :) Do you find the high notes can be a little raspy on it, and do you think the acute bend works for this oc? Really like the style of your tutorials & vids, keep up the great work!
Hello, I bought the STL Ocarina, today I learn how to play Lullaby song, thank you very much!!!!! I'm still pending to do it better but it does not sound bad !!!! I'm so happy
Hello! I just wanted to let you know that you’re an amazing youtuber. You’ve inspired me to get an ocarina (from STL, of course), and I couldn’t be more excited for it to come in! Your music sounds so beautiful and I’m looking forward to learning more from you! Edit: My ocarina finally came in! I got the 12-holed echo ocarina and I absolutely LOVE it!!
There is some sort of magic going on when i hear the sound of this type of ocarina. Its like healing me from the inside, cant explain its totally magical feeling.
That is amazing i did not know what an Ocarina was until till I watched your video I thought you were teaching about a mini flute at first boy😮was I wrong thank you for posting 👏🏼
i dont know why but every time i play this song i end up playing "hopes and dreams" from undertale... i think i just need to lisen to the music more XD
I'm going to practice this so much. I love this song and I'm so happy you made such a clear tutorial. Thank you so much. I hope you'll do more zelda songs ❤️❤️ you are amazing
Thank you so much! Learning the ocarina was always something I wanted to do!! But my mom is a single mom with one incomes and we can’t afford any lessons then I found your channel you helped me so much and my family is so impressed by my ocarina skills, Ilysm!!!
Thank you for the tutorial!I like Zeldas Lullaby really much and it’s easier for me to play than other Zelda songs, because there aren’t many high notes!
Thank you Gina, not for this post but for your accurate review of the Amazon ocarinas. Unfortunately, I jumped the gun and purchased the "top seller" amazon ocarina without doing much research. I'm a string/keys/percussion player mainly but I've dabbled in woodwinds, have a couple recorders and play a little flute and clarinet. My Amazon ocarina came in today and just as you stated the lower half of the scale was fine but the upper notes hurt my head. I've followed your advice (always trust the experienced!) and ordered an STL model. Making lemonade from a lemon, the Amazon piece makes a good display piece to set out for decoration--- with the ceramic hand stand and all. In the grand scheme of things, the plastic STL model is better suited for my application than the ceramic Amazon model as I intend on learning this instrument during my lunch break at work. Plastic is better suited for that as my work environment is dirty and physically abusive, not suited for ceramic. Might I also mention I'm a maintenance worker in an HDPE Plastic pipe manufacturing plant lol.... Generally I avoid plastic instruments because "plastic"... but to give props where it's due.... Ovation makes a sweet sounding guitar that has a plastic back. I can't wait to try out the model you recommended!
This is great. I picked up the ocarina a couple of weeks ago and I was struggling to work it out by ear, but I was failing miserably. Your work around with the range of a Norma ocarina work a charm. Thanks a lot!
something I realised: sometimes i would have a different pitch when playing a note and it actually was because I was whisteling the note instead of just blowing air
So that's the deal! While I was trying to learn Zelda's Lullaby, I didn't realize that the ocarina didn't go as high as it needed to so the G note is substituted by a lower G note. When I'd get to that point, I'd get so confused because it didn't sound right to me. Now I know why! I thought it was just an error in the tabs I was reading. I have the first part all down pat into memory, now I'll have to get the last part learned and memorized as well. 😊
Thank you so much for making these, I am on day 2 of practicing since getting my first ocarina and have almost got all of Zelda's Lullaby down. I still need to practice my breathing more as my highs seem screechy which I assume is from breathing. Thank you so much, couldn't ask for a better teacher. Also, I made sure to use your code when I ordered my ocarina from STL so thank you for that discount too!
I got my first ocarina from STL Ocarina using your code! Got the 12 Hole Plastic Zelda Tenor Ocarina (C Major). It's a lot of fun and I'm getting a grip on the first few notes but I'm having trouble playing that high D cleanly. Regardless, thanks for all ocarina content on here - I'm going to need it all on my ocarina journey haha
Hi! I just want to tell you how much I loved the idea of the harmony part you put in the end of the video for us to play along! It was such a great addition to the tutorial. Playing along with you was so much fun and helped me to play in tune! Thank you so much for this video :)
I ordered this yellow fairy ocarina from STL. Thanks for the coupon code Gina. This will be my first Ocarina! I love this yellow one. It was fun hearing you play it too. 🌸💖🌸
Ah ty! I had these tabs for so long. I have a STL ocarina and I just can never get it to sound like yours. I guess I need to learn how to blow and hold notes properly
Just started playing this as my first song on my Night by Noble, I feel like I'm doing good but the high notes sound terrible. Hopefully I master them soon!
Thank you so much Gina! this was my first ever play on a ocarina and i was able to manage it quickly because of this super nice tutorial! i must admit i copied all notes from this video but i tried to buy them but there are only the proper sheets. i think it would also be a good idea to also sell them as drawings, i'd spend a euro or a bit more on it for sure! I just wanna be able to play all zelda songs, quickly.
I just recently found you and subscribed but I had already been trying to learn this as my first song (been kinda stuck at a part) and then this popped up in my feed today! Yay! Thank you, this will be a BIG help! :) Also I think it would be awesome if you did a tutorial for "Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter on the ocarina, might be good for October as a Halloween type video! :D
Dude, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've played this song on my ocarina perfectly three times. Still no master sword...
no it's Song of Time that get you the master sword
:( aw man now i have to learn another song… and my fingers are dead!
@@TheGreatGamer64 :V
You've gotta get the grave diggers son back first!
Bro I gotchu. They got them on Amazon for $60
*You've learned Zelda's Lullaby!
This is honestly the coolest reply here, because it's literally true. :D
omg....soooo much nostalgia being able to play this song on my own ocarina :D feels almost unreal lol
Ha ha ha
This comment made me so happy and idk why
Lol
Who knew cats liked the sound of an ocarina so much? I was playing and then my cat comes up to me with big eyes staring straight at the ocarina
Maby because I sometimes sounds like a bird or kitten
Mine did that yesterday while I was trying to practice too. I was laying back on my couch following along the fundamentals video and suddenly she's over my shoulder stretching her head out to it and sniffing the ocarina *very* intently.
Then she shoved her butt in my face and sat down on my chest in the way lol
Mine did too!!
Lol I have a few stray cats in my area and they always come when I play so I started playing it before feeding them, now I can't practice outside without being forced into snuggles
You accidentally played the song of cats.
I'm gonna learn this song first on my ocarina thanks for code Gina
Awesome! I hope you have a blast learning this!
Same!!
Same! I just got an ocarina with her code, and I love it! Gina has a great way of showing how to use the ocarina
I just 3d printed my first ocarina: D I love the thing
@@adrianouellette6094 I also 3d printed one earlier too :)
For anyone like me who goes back and forth practicing the third section starts about here 3:44 and the whole song here 6:31

Thank you soooooooo much i didn't know that the orcarina was a real thing untill i saw a advertisement like 4 days ago so instantly bought one very good memory playing orcarina of time with my sister growing up cant wait to play sll the songs :)
took me about 30 mins but nailed it, great tutorial
If i learn this ill use it every time im mad and all ill feel is love
I've been a zelda fan for a while and have played saxophone for 8 years the ocarina seems like a nice simple side instrument
Wow, I watched only 2.5 minutes and I'm grinning like a fool. Learning Zelda songs is the entire reason I wanted to learn how to play an ocarina, and now I see that it really can be done in real life.

I've never seen a gold ocarina before! It's gorgeous!
This was my first ocarina, it's really nice to hear it being played by someone with a woodwind background as it gives an idea how nice it can sound. :) Do you find the high notes can be a little raspy on it, and do you think the acute bend works for this oc?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE HIGH NOTES! Good luck to you💞💞💞
You’ve got to blow a little harder for the high notes I find. Make a sharp “two” sound
I’ve heard they just need a lot of air pressure from the player to sound right so they are usually louder
New ocarina owner here. Thanks for the help
I owe my life for you , you are the ONLY person who i undestand the classes, thank you soo much
I have never learned music so easily!!
Thank you so much for such a well orchestrated and fun experience!
i've listened to the song and i can tell you it goes B - D - A - G - A - B - D -A
Section 1: 0:57
Section 2: 3:25
Section 3: 3:53
All Sections: 6:35
Thank you my good sir
I learned music today. Write that down in your history books. Joy!!!!
Hello, I bought the STL Ocarina, today I learn how to play Lullaby song, thank you very much!!!!! I'm still pending to do it better but it does not sound bad !!!! I'm so happy
My dog loves it when I play the ocarina. She's really my biggest fan!
Yess when my ocarina comes, I’ll learn this!!
Love it! Dying to learn The Last Goodbye” from the Hobbit...

That tutorial was so much fun. I always have issues with the high D. ~sometimes sounds kind of wonky
I'm so glad you had fun with it! I hear you, those high D's are tough!
That's a good Ocarina training video.
amazing work
ocarina is the best
Learning all the zelda's songs in one go, thanks to you !
Just learned the melody on my piano with this video while waiting on my Ocarina. Guess I'll try it on my guitar now 🤣
That is amazing i did not know what an Ocarina was until till I watched your video I thought you were teaching about a mini flute at first boy😮was I wrong thank you for posting 👏🏼

You are so supportive!! Oh my gosh. A lot of youtubers can feel very judgmental. This was so comfortable to learn!!
I just got my ocarina 30 minutes ago, and I just learned this song! I’m so excited!!
I cant fo the High notes it sounds so squeaky :( THANK YOU FOR THE VID YOURE SO TALENTED💞💞
sometimes the high notes need a bit more breath pressure. i'm still working on that too
Oh snap i found it
Lol

Your more helpful than piano tutorials so I’m using you to learn piano
Hey what really cool I want to learn now 😊
Oooo I can't wait for mine now. One of my favorite
This video reaffirms my purchase of the fairy ocarina
Would you consider a tututorial for the legend of Zelda theme?
'The overworld theme'
I wanna learn this song for my best friend he loves The Legend of Zelda
Wasnt sure how well it would work but i 3d printed an ocarina and it sounds alright. Thanks for the song help
Thank you so much you’re a wonderful teacher
Awesome

i don't even have my ocarina on me but i wanna watch this
I got my first ocarina from STL Ocarina using your code! Got the 12 Hole Plastic Zelda Tenor Ocarina (C Major). It's a lot of fun and I'm getting a grip on the first few notes but I'm having trouble playing that high D cleanly. Regardless, thanks for all ocarina content on here - I'm going to need it all on my ocarina journey haha
thanks alot! this will e my first song! i really aparicate that you put the sheet music
Definitely was the first song I learned to play. Thanks!!
Love your channel!
I love playing this 😊
something helpful here would be to put a little wavy line on those notes that you play Vibrato (im just starting out :P)
I should have learned this song first, but I just HAD to start with learning Still Alive from Portal.
Hi! I just want to tell you how much I loved the idea of the harmony part you put in the end of the video for us to play along! It was such a great addition to the tutorial. Playing along with you was so much fun and helped me to play in tune! Thank you so much for this video :)
7:54 is where you can play with her up to tempo :)
Thank you!
Tão lindo!
I wish you could make more tutorials for ocarina. Not just zelda but other video game songs too( like pokemon, mario, anime songs)
I ordered this yellow fairy ocarina from STL. Thanks for the coupon code Gina. This will be my first Ocarina! I love this yellow one. It was fun hearing you play it too. 🌸💖🌸
Nice I love it
I'm glad you like it
Love your videos!!!
Thanks so much for the help!
Thank u a lot
Ah ty! I had these tabs for so long. I have a STL ocarina and I just can never get it to sound like yours. I guess I need to learn how to blow and hold notes properly
Thank you for this, I've been struggling with the sheet music I got and this modified version helps me a lot.
Thank you so much this was the best tutorial I have ever seen♥️ you are amazing

Thank you, this will be a BIG help! :) Also I think it would be awesome if you did a tutorial for "Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter on the ocarina, might be good for October as a Halloween type video! :D
I second this request for Hedwig's Theme
I learned Requiem of Spirit 🥇 first on Ocarina. Milestone.
Hola gracias a ti finalmente pude aprender a tocar era canción
Iv just got today as a Christmas gift and I am struggaling to hear the diffrent notes and even tho im copying the movements, mine sounds so deep...
Thx
I used the notes for the piano and it still sounded nice lmao
Good! You can use this tutorial to play Zelda's Lullaby on ANY instrument!
My future brother in law LOVES Legend of Zelda. So if I can learn this on the Ocarina, he'll flip!
You sound so much better than me. When I play it sounds like it has a more deeper tone I guess. Don’t really know how to explain it
thank you very much, but for hylia's sake, learning to play the ocarina is difficult
amen
agreed
Beautiful!
WoOOoOoOoo
You are quick!!
