However, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I believe Old Slow Coach would be perfect with Emily and her coaches, especially after watching MH1994's video, The Missing Coaches. I really enjoyed this episode! I cracked up at the 'Jedward' jokes, I like how there's an old-shaped Henry easter egg in the background, and I like how James' character was written in this, as well as his dynamic with Edward. The message he gave to Gordon about being a branch line engine and the latter deep inside fully respected that is just so wholesome. Dependable, reliable, we all know James is great!
Also, it is surprising to see Gordon let out of his shed. Maybe he apologized to Mr. Percival off-screen, so he was allowed to pull the express again alongside Rebecca part-time.

    • @jeremiahsisaias8677
      @jeremiahsisaias8677 5 дней назад

      Yeah seemed kinda rushed.
It seems like TATHP and "Rebecca's redemption" have a thing for Gordon being at his absolute worst when putting people at risk whether it was a plan that went horribly wrong or him being disobedient.
Though the difference with them is that in Tobias he didn't know that Percy was heading towards Toby on the same line which led to him being banished from Sodor and "Tracks To big adventures" had him straight up disobeying Mr. Percival's orders which led to him running out of water on the viaduct and he, his crew and passengers nearly die if it weren't for Rebecca and the other Steam Team engines besides Henry who witnessed the near disaster laugh it off.
This is one of those instances where you feel like if there was a narrator you would or wouldn't be hearing the 5 words "Luckily no one was hurt.".
The episode and it's models, sets and animation wasn't terrible its just my thoughts on how consequences are showcased in the world of Thomas.

Legitimately one of the best if not THE best James story in the whole damn fandom, you don’t know how refreshing it is to see a James story, fandom or official, where James
    A. ISN’T an awful jerk throughout
    B. actually comes out on top in the end, instead of the typical “James gets taken down a peg and everybody laughs at him” ending!

This feels like the end that James never got for his character arc. This honestly feels like he has been humbled in a sense. He started out mimicking Gordon and thinking that mainline engines were everything, but ended coming to the conclusion that he is really a branch line engine. Along with that it feels like the type of episode that might actually be in the railway or the tv series. This was really great and I love seeing this side of James that I personally have never seen.

I feel like this is genuinely challenging the actual Thomas and friends series in quality and story. The only think that might make it better is if the faces actually were animated, but I honestly think the facial expressions are better because it brings a bit of nostalgia to it. This truly feels like a culmination of James' character development. I remember watching The Unlucky Tug's "Sodor's Finest" video on James, where he was described as an engine whose high opinion of himself lead him to see himself as on par with Gordon, an express mainline engine, even though James himself was just a medium mixed-traffic engine - i.e. a poser with a bit of a Napoleon complex. It also mentioned how James's relationship with Edward evolved - at first, James felt emasculated by Edward and tried to one-up him before gaining his respect and seeing him as a peer. Here, we see the endpoint of that journey. Here, James is finally able to put his work before his paintwork, he's willing to accept who is, and he is nothing but caring and considerate towards Edward - a true friend. James has come along way from where he started. He's a much older and wiser engine now - almost a bit like Edward. But he'll always be our James.
This series is just wonderful at showing the characters at the end of their journeys - Gordon passing the Express baton to Rebecca after making sense of a fast-changing world, Henry pulling off his most heroic feat before gracefully retiring to Vicarstown, and now this.
Thank you. These are the Thomas stories we never knew we needed.

@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967 I didn’t say that James wouldn’t still be vain. I just meant he’s more mature than he used to be. The Jedward joke was also a treat, given how funny it is. Plus, I like how the size difference is shown between the two engines; Basically Edward being smaller then James, as stated in canon. I think that's because either I've missed it in what TTTE content I've seen, or It's really not shown and it's hard to tell who's smaller. James thinking he could pull the train himself and having to except Edward’ help, (side note I love the S8 theme recreation that was nice) and then there’s the scene where James sticks up for Edward and tells the worker to basically piss off. I also love James’ speech about how it’s ok to be a engine from the mainline, branchline, or other was pretty deep for James as well as the contrast of Edward and James’ paint and their personalities clashing and the BoCo and old slow coach cameos are ones I didn’t expect but am glad it did and I think I saw Henry’ old shape if I’m correct. I know I keep saying this but it’s really going to be hard to choose my favorite episode

Well, bud, after watching your latest episode of Tracks to Big Adventures, I have to say that this was another great episode you put together and the story was also great as well, starting with the flashback to The Adventure Beings when James went off the rails and got his red paint, but lost Annie and Clarabel as well as his branch line to Thomas and James then arrives to Wellsworth, surprising Edward and Nia, who was being told how James got his red paint, to which James then says that Mr. Percival has asked him to help with the refurbishment at Brendam Docks and Nia asks Edward if he could take her passengers, but James reminds Nia that Edward's going to the Steamworks and Nia takes her passengers instead. However, the next day, when James picks up the goods train, Carly drops the blue paint on James and he feels embarrassed, but when he realizes he can't pull the heavy train by himself, he refuses help from Boco and Nia before he crashes into some stone trucks at Whiff's Waste Dump and when he comes to a stop at a function as Stanley arrives with his passenger train, he finally goes to the Steamworks and asks Edward, whose boiler is painted red, for his help in getting the train to the mainland, to which Edward does and they both pull the train to the mainland, but when they arrive, the yard manager goes off on Edward and James defends Edward by saying that he's a really useful engine to which as they head back to Sodor, Edward asks James if he would like to help on Edward's branch line and while James says he's a mainline engine, he's trying his best not to admit he would like to work with Edward, Nia and Boco on the branch line, but when they arrive back at Tidmouth Sheds, after James talks to Mr. Percival, Mr. Percival then announces that James will be helping out with the new extension to Brendam, thus becoming one of the main engines to run the extension and when Gordon says that a mainline engine working on the branch line is pathetic, James proudly says that he's a branch line engine while also reminding everyone to be thankful for the jobs you have, such as Percy pulling the mail train, Gordon with the Express and Thomas and Edward with their branch lines and as James leaves, Gordon smiles while James thanks Edward for always helping everyone even though no one appreciates it, to which Edward then tells James that he could have taken Nia's passengers, stayed at the Steamworks and taken the abuse from the yard manager, but he didn't because of James and after Edward tells James he doesn't like conflict, James just says that he was just being James. Basically, Edward and James have that big brother-little brother dynamic with Edward playing the role of big brother and James as the little brother. Also, before I forget, was that Old Slow Coach Nia was pulling when she took her passengers to the zoo? And do you know what happened to your Change of Pace video? All-in-all, in the end, that was another great episode you put together for Tracks to Big Adventures and I look forward to seeing what you have planned next as well as seeing how well Edward, James, Nia and Boco do all working together on Edward's branch line, so until then, keep up the good work, bud!

This is genius. I’ve seen some people complain about how James is not “James” in this episode, but I disagree. This is still the James we know and love. However, he’s also not the typical James we are used to. That’s because he’s now grown as a character. How many times did we see James get into trouble in result of him ignoring advices? Too many times. This changes everything. This episode is the payoff to all those stories teaching James to listen to others. He finally learns that he is not perfect and “Splendid” as he comes out to be, and that he needs someone to guide him into the right direction, who is Edward. The visual of Edward being red and James being blue is just brilliant. It shows that James has now matured, like Edward. At the beginning of the episode, when he gets covered with blue paint, he’s the typical James we know, complaining about his appearance. However, at the end of the episode, he doesn’t care anymore. Because he’s just appreciating Edward’s help, and is now saying HIMSELF that the appearances doesn’t matter as long as they are really useful. And at the end of the episode, James is now LEAVING the “Three Big Engines,” and is now joining the Edward’s branch line gang. On itself, it’s a very nice story. But that’s not all. Going back to the “Three Big Engines,” it seems like each of them are getting a nice ending to themselves. Henry started as the sickest and the most pathetic engine, and in this series, he becomes a absolute chad and does the legendary “Super Rescue”. James started as a character that only thinks about himself and thinks he is the best. However, in this episode, he finally learns to listen and admit that he is not perfect, and that he needs a guide. And now it seems like Gordon is the only one of the “Three Big Engines” left to get a nice, happy ending to his important part of life. The “Three Big Engines,” the engines who always thought they were above others, are finally maturing, and are now getting ready to open a new chapter of their lives…

All of this character development... it's insane. Toby retiring to Ulfstead Castle, Daisy returning to Ffarquhar and James working on Edward's Branch Line? It's written in a way that makes fair amounts of sense, unlike what Mattel did. And I am *HERE...* for it.

The dynamic between him and Edward is truly spectacular and the ending where James chooses to be a branch line engine was beautiful!! Bravo once again to the team behind TTBA!! 😃😃😃

This is quite a character study of James the red engine and him questioning quite profoundly how does he really want to feel important/useful. It was pretty neat taking and possibly expanding upon his desire to have a branch line from the adventure begins; then resenting Thomas for earning his branch line.
Quite an imagined character arc for James where he finally stands up to Gordon instead of trying to match him all the time; while recognizing the friend he has in kind Edward.
