I konw exactly what your talking about. Unfortunately i was a online student with Everest University and before i was able to graduate (medical billing and coding) they stopped offering the course and told me i had to change my degree of choice. Later found out they were scamming people getting extra loans etc....long story short, Everest filed bankruptcy and i am 36, 000 in debt with student loans (1 1/2 years - 86 credits only needed 10 more credits) and now i cant go to another school until i get the debt straightened out.....My advice to anyone if you cant pay for it on your own DONT DO IT....NO STUDENT LOANS!

Hey we grow corn here in the desert with monsoon winds. The last time I did it I made a box around it with sticks and then just wrap it with string. (One strain every few feet up) that makes it not fall over when you only have a patch and not a field

Just six months ago my family and I were on the same Journey you were. We looked everywhere and all the places we wanted to go including Kentucky and the Lord and All His comedic Glory sent us to Missouri. Never been this far east and you want to know what people don't tell noobs such as myself about homesteading? FLIES!!!!!!!!!! Have faith, He WILL provide on His time and HIS place. Wherever you go, if this property is not the place, where He sends you will be just as wonderful and probably better than anything you could ever imagine. I'm looking forward to this new adventure you're taking us on with you. You have no idea how much the two of you have helped me and COUNTLESS other people with starting our NEW lives. Thank you for blessing us with your knowledge and sharing your lives so openly with us. We're praying for your here and know it will work in your favor. Corn tassels are male, the silks are female. Every silk is a potential grain of corn. The wind and bees shake the pollen from the tassels down to the silks and pollinate them therefore producing each grain of corn. Amazing. Your corn is beautiful and will be oh so good. Praying for a closing on your house.

We have grown corn 2 times...and we grow them close - like the farmers on zillion of acres. We didn't fertilize this year as we should have, but it's so fun growing your own corn! Well done!

When you need to catch farm birds during the day, it's easy if you use a big fish net. Mine has a telescoping pole which helps with the wilder ones. Also, sometimes I just let everyone out, feed them a treat, and then herd them all back into the run together, as a flock. And, oh yeah, the background music is a little distracting.

I will tell you that the squeaky wheel does get the grease. Be polite but be presistant. If you're a jerk and threatening you may be the last priority. Let them know your predicament and what you have to lose. People are more apt to help you if you humanize the problem.

It's so hard to grow sweet corn in the Midwestern side of Kentucky, so many people grow feed corn that cross pollination is a big issue, we just don't eat enough of it to fight the issue and I can dedicate that space to another crop that we do eat a lot of.

Prayers for you and your family on your new journey, sorry to hear about slowing processing of your new home. I just love it when I see a couple working together on home projects and homestead shores to what ever needs to get done. People these days as a couple don’t do as much together, which can make ya appreciate each other more . And get the job done with low to no costs of labor hiring out, If it can be done by yourselves as a team to succeed.👍👍👍👍👍👍🥰🥰♥️❤️♥️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hey I wanted to mention this the last time I saw ur sweet corn....I have made this same mistake time and time again....but ur sweet corn was planted way to close together....they need to b spaced about 12 inches.....any closer they just don't produce....try that next year....I have high winds knocking mine over too and somehow they recover....I need to hill mine more I think to help keep them upright 👍😉

“Ugly food is still tasty food” 😂 What kind of corn did you grow? I am praying for the Lord to make a way where there seems to be no way. Thank y’all for your realness and smiles despite your circumstances. That’s genuine contentment and so inspiring. ❤️❤️

My granddaughter will soon be in college, so I bought the book Debt Free Degree, for both of us to read. There is a chapter that discusses easy college credit. CC companies set up booths on campus to get kids to sign up for CCs to buy anything they want. (Dorm furniture, food, tshirts, anything!) A lot of time, the kids don't understand interest, and get in way too deep. This is over and above the true college loans! Please read up on this and save your child a lot of headaches. Also, I agree that there is not enough infasis on trade school. A lot of people think it's college or minimum wage jobs, with no in between. God bless...

I planted dipper guards. They were the only things that grew good this year. Last count there was 31 guards and still growing strong with new ones every day. Not really dipper size more like bowls.

I tried 2 kinds of popcorn. One got 8 ft tall. The other 3 ft. And I tried okra this year. Got a couple. Next year going to grow it in our greenhouse. It needed hotter weather than we get on the southern oregon coast. Also grew KAJARI melons. Our plant has 13 on it. And we just ate 2 ripe ones. Those are the yummiest suckers I have ever ate. A cross between cantaloupe and honeydew. We are definitely growing a bunch of them next year! Saw jess growing them last summer. So had to try them. Yummo!
