  • Here's a fairly typical week for a 1st year radiology specialty trainee (ST1) in London, UK.
    Time stamps:
    0:00 - Intro
    0:17 - Monday (Ultrasound and MDT)
    2:08 - Tuesday (Fluoroscopy, neuro teaching and CT reporting)
    3:49 - Wednesday (Uro teaching, Audit, plain film reporting and ultrasound)

    How does CT reporting actually work coming into ST1? Do you shadow a trainee who gives you a breakdown on CT interpretation which would then serve you as your basis for CT reporting or are you thrown in the deep end and are expected to figure out CT interpretation on your own?

      Perhaps a bit of both. Sometimes a more senior trainee runs through things with us, sometimes a consultant/attending teaches us how, sometimes we look at various resources, such as radiopaedia for CT head interpretation.
      Everyone seems to report differently, so it's hard to get an agreed standardised search pattern to teach everyone.
