This was an amazing project to not only film but to watch from a distance. This machine is absolutely amazing!!! This is the largest One-Pass Trencher in the world. The MT4500 has 4,500HP and over 1,500,000 lb-ft of torque. No other Trenching machine has that much power or can trench to 160 feet deep. Dewind is actually building another MT4500 right now. It should be completed this year, (2023).
They were trenching 70ft down and adding their special mixture with the soil to create a solid wall underneath the surface.

They are installing bentonite ,water, and dirt to make a slurry wall to stop water seepage!, the slurry usaully sets up in about 60 to 70 days!.
You are absolutely correct!
I've excavated two of them and had two mix it up with another hoe and him placing the slurry back in as I excavated it to keep the banks up we were only 35' deep. If i remember correctly the slurry mix is 10 times stronger than water and that's why the banks didnt cave in!. It solved the problem!. That trenching machine is the way to go!.
Thank you. i was wondering and the comments came through.
First time I saw something like this and this was my first guess.
Fantastic video clip 👌 looking in from Ireland 🇮🇪
Thank you for watching!!
Don’t have a clue what is happening but it is impressive. Thank you for sharing.

Impressive mega digging machine. What a world we live in. Just great seeing this .
Amazing what the human drive and mindset can create!
Awesome video. Watched, liked and subscribed. :)
Thank you sir!!!
Nice showcase!!!
Thanks Matt!
Nice. Never seen this done before.
It is so much bigger and better in person! I was there for at least three days. Crazy!
So well put together!
Thank you so much for the compliment!
I have made 100s of service calls to put trencher chains back onto the boom, I'm glad I never had to do that one. Yikes.
It is amazing how they tear it down and move it each time!
nice
Impressive!
Thank you!
Very nice. Great footage
Thanks Nick!!
That’s amazing. You’re job is so cool 😁
I absolutely love my job!!
👍
Is that trencher built on a Cat 390? What a freak of construction it is. :D (an awesome freak, that is!)
Hitachi EX1100
Nice Brannon!
Thank you!!!
Wow
Thank you sir!!
that is AWESOME! like an UBER chainsaw!
BIG machine! But it is digging a trench and closing it the same time? Normally you want to put in cables or pipes, but it closes the trench. I dont understand
Now fill it back in.

Great Work!
Thanks!!!
*_Mighty Machine for Mega Trenching... looks like Bentonite used to keep walls intact._*
Very similar to Slurry Wall construction, but 10 time faster. Maybe project was to make new Dam Core to stop water infiltration. Whatever is happening, very impressive video.
*_Who gets the job of washing the Monster after job completion...._*
Is it mixing the slurry as it goes or is it being pumped in from elsewhere???
The two big bins on the front hold the bentonite and the mix that in with the soil and water. The water is being pumped in from the tanker trucks behind the machine.
@bravocharlieproductions Hello from Colorado, I was curious as to why bentonite is used instead of a lime based slurry or even a concrete mortar? I found you from a instagram picture where you were trenching in a sandy beach looking area. Does the pumped material change depending on location? Fascinating concept, cheers!
@@Workmule4ever2day I am just the photographer/videographer. Your best bet is to reach out to Dewind One Pass Trenching in the video description. They would have a better answer for you. Thanks for watching!
What the excavator is doing ? The cement comes from the yellow tractor, so no need for help.
Is this helping to stop water going through the dam wall
Yes it is. The dam was starting to seep and they called Dewind to fix the issue.
That aint nothing compared to the Trencor chain trenchers we built in the mid 2000's.
Some informative narration instead of useless music would be great.
When we design videos for websites, we normally don't add narration so our clients can use snippets without having to delete audio tracks.
But yes, in this case, narration would be nice.
Great video music sucks though.
