A very nice episode even though it was half a clip episode. And also add that eraser chemy to the list of chemies that are UNNECESSARILY OP THAT THING CAN ERASE ANYTHING WTF😭💀. But besides that the episode was very nice get a tease at Minato’s past, a cool malgam, and erm AKCTUALLY it’s a portal maker not a teleporter ☝️🤓. But seriously this was a very nice episode not fond of the new got-hard form and dread type 1 but as long as Dread is Minato no matter how mediocre the form is I’ll love him. A nice 7/10 episode. No theories this time sadly but I feel like next episode is gonna give me some more theory fuel.

bah what is a portal user but a teleporter with a disc.
yeah the way they are flowing minato in with the whole empathy themes with him being used like this is great. way to say he was good all along while also not excusing his actions in some way.

I'm glad that even if this was a recap episode we still had some new stuff. From the recap portion I really liked them elaborating more on the title of Kamen Rider and makes Daybreak Hotaro even cooler to me cause it feels like the title of his form combines both the legendary figure and his title of kamen rider.
The Warpterra Malgam put up an amazing performance stealing almost all of the heroes' cards and especially when it turned Rinne and Spanner's finishers against one another. I think it's hilarious that Spanner stopped to thank Rinne for helping him only to get attacked by Warpterra again, and I like the consistency in that the space warping is a forbidden form of alchemy.
Steamliner was such an MVP this episode. Love the setup about Professor Minato's motives and the reveal that Geryon is emotionally manipulating him again hammers home just how cruel Geryon is. This man has proven himself despicable enough to be worthy of big bad status if nothing else.
Dread Type One looks quite cool (the skeleton hand forcibly grabbing the crystal unicorn to fuse with the armor gives quite a striking and disturbing impression, reminds me of Bujin Sword's transformation) and the rapier is (chef's kiss). Also glad we get to see more of Prof.Minato's skill after he was being talked smack by Geryon, catching and returning Rinne's crystal attack back at her.
I thought these two details from the translated episode blog were really cool:
"Minato's origami is a dragon but, in the script, it was originally a crane origami. Director Shibasaki changed it to a dragon because since that scene was filmed early in the new year, he wanted it to match with 2024's zodiac sign (dragon)."
"The body color of Iron Gotchard, born from a forbidden technique, is also black. Just like Spanner's Wheel Malgam, that color indicates that this power is close to this "Abyssalis power". Amateur alchemist Houtarou Ichinose has stepped into the forbidden realm. He used that "Abyssalis power" with the help of Kyoka and a mysterious figure to re-transmute Steamliner into Tenliner, the same way Spanner used his black flames (= "Abyssalis power") to re-transmute MadWheel into MachWheel. Also, in terms of one-to-one fusion between a Chemy and a human, Iron Gatchard is closer to a Malgam than to a Kamen Rider. The reason why Houtarou hasn't become a Liner Malgam is because of his lack of malice and his bond with Steamliner."
That second note is super cool, the desperate method Houtarou is using is similar to the villains' but because of who he is and his bond with Steamliner he avoids becoming a malgam. Cannot wait to see the Prof.Minato flashback to finally learn more next week.

yeah for what was half a recap it did do a lot of leg work for the rest of the season.
really hoping they dont pull a switcheroo with geryon, he is doing so well as the big bad. big plot reasons to hate him and also great character reasons to hate him.
this season has really good suits, dread works really well. and i do enjoy iron gotchard for just how punch heavy it is.

Oh yay, a recap episode... At least it's only a partial recap.
Hmm... Dread by default uses Steamliner and now upgrades his right side with Unicon, both main cards of Gotchard and Majade. Will Dread upgrade again with Machwheel, Valvarad's card?
The Iron Gotchard henshin was cool.

yeah i am really liking the idea that dread might get one to rep all three of the main heroes.

This episode was pretty okay in my opinion but I do have to say I am very interested in the teacher story and it seems to be a continuation of the vampire storyline in terms of thematic elements that being that good intentions can I have some honest to God horrific consequences which again is a really good thing

yeah actually exploring the negative aspects of empathy in this way is really nice.
