LYRICS
You tried to spit in the eye
Of a dead man's face
Attacked the ways of a man
Not yet in his grave
But your hate was over all too soon
Because nothing is over
And nothing's through,
Till we bury you
For the love of brother
I will sing this fucking song
Aesthetics of hate,
I hope you burn in hell
The words I read on the screen
Left me fucking sick
I felt the hatred rising
You son of a bitch
You branded us pathetic for our respect
But he made us Driven,
Such deep reverence,
Far beyond the rest
For the love of brother
I will sing these fucking words
Aesthetics of hate,
I hope you burn in hell
Yer!
Wow!
Long live memories
Live this freedom vicariously
Defend tenfold
His honor we'll always uphold
For the love of brother
I will say these fucking words
No silence against ignorance
Iconoclast, I hope you burn in hell
May the hand of god strike them down
The Blackening is still my favourite album!
Yeah I remember listening to this album everyday on the way to school when I was like 13
Same !! I don’t like their new music … :( hurt they change their style
Good For You Dude!!. P.S. I Also Got This Album On CD, And Will Remain In My Collection Forever
*favorite
Unbelievable. Damn Schweizer...
Ya same.
Dedicated to Dimebag Darrell ever since his death. RIP and cheers to you Dimebag.
Who is Dimebag Darrell anyways?
Universal Bulbasaur guitar player for Pantera one of the best actually
@@chainzgamer3847 you kidding, right?
I never knew this song is dedicated for Dimebag
@@shadowgojiro It was written by Robert Flynn as a retaliation to an article by William Grim for the website Iconoclast. Titled "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance", Grim wrote the article stating Darrell was "part of a generation that has confused sputum with art and involuntary reflex actions with emotion", "an ignorant, barbaric, untalented possessor of a guitar" who looks "more simian than human".
After reading the article, Flynn was furious and wrote "Aesthetics of Hate" as a condemnation of Grim's article and Dimebag detractors. He wrote a message on the band's forum expressing his friendship with Darrell and spoke about Grim:
"What would YOU know about love or values? What would YOU know about giving to the world? All that you know is teaching prejudice, and your heart is as black as the 'ignorant, filthy, and hideously ugly, heavy metal fans' you try and paint in your twisted, fictitious ramblings. It's because of people like YOU, that there are Nathan Gales in this world, NOT the Dimebags and metal musicians who work to unite people through music."
R.I.P Darrell.
+Chris Matos Wait what?
This song was in response to a scathing article written by some asshole writer from the Iconoclast, that basically smeared Dimebag Darrel after he passed away, and the fans that mourned him. "The words I read on the screen left me fucking sick."
Chris Matos That makes this song 1000 times better. Respect to them for making a song about such a topic. Dime didn't deserve that bull shit those dumbasses pulled for attention
haha yeah. It's a pretty badass song.
Chris Matos So I did some research (which i do a lot about interesting topics), and it turns out that Robb actually wrote the song about a news article a man wrote called "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P Dimebag Abbott, & good riddance". Google it up and give it a read. I'm 100% sure you'll be as pissed off as Robb whilst doing so. Here's a link metaldisciple.com/aesthetics.html
I love how Robb is being all badass and you see everyone in the back laughing and having fun.
Like matt heafy
Aesthetics of joy, I hope you have a great DAYYYYYY
Man, I didn't know this song was dedicated to D.D...
But now that i do, its still my favorite.
The Golden Era of Machine Head. Best lineup in my opinion!
Uno de mis grupos ahora son fan del grupo uno de los míos
if only logan madder never left, i am not quite sure what happened to him
0:12 Joe Duplantier for Gojira at left and Matt Heafy from Trivium at right. You're welcome.
Holy shit dude
fuuuuuuuuuuck ahahahah
THANK YOU
THAT SOLO!!!
The solo reminds me so much of classical. It's so amazing.
Yeah dude! That’s because metal is mostly based on classical scales
@@AFacemarkedbyFea sort of neo-classical in places on the solos, I her the 'symphonic' classical influence more in it's elaborate structure and dynamics, really prog metal influences without being poncy about it. ... great album.
Rhoads
@@brendanoneil3489 yea Rob Flynn Phil Demmel are influenced by iron maiden and Ozzy Osbourne so I'm guessing that's where that neo classical style comes from
I remember when this came out. Was only in the 6th grade. My uncle loved Machine Fuckin' Head. Sadly, he passed before this album was released. To this day I wish he could just jam it in his blazer. R.I.P. Pernell Spencer!
On the other hand, I wish I knew about Forbidden Evil before I knew MH. Only reason I say that is because Robb used the guitar lick(from Forbidden Evil) on this. This quarantine has taught me some ear listening skills with the riffs. The Power of The Riff Compels Me!!! Hails from the Navajo Nation! 🤘
That's bada** my nickname is Steveo Navajo 😂
3:04 gives me the bloody chills, so good.
this is my fav song of Machine Head
This was the first MachineHead song I had ever heard (way back in 2007). Let me tell ya, that was one helluva introduction.
If you like this song, you'll probably be a pretty big fan of "Locust" as well.
Mine too! Because its about Dimebag Darrell of Pantera! And against that fucking coward William Grimm! If I ever find that MF'er, he will be in a hospital being fed from a tube! #FuckWilliamGrimm #DeathToHim #FuckIconoclast #MayTheHandsOfGodStrikeThemDown #PanteraForever #DIMEBAGDARRELLFOREVER
mine to, I like rock n roll.
Ya same.
I remember discovering this on Scuzz when I was 15. Still an absolute banger of a track, and The Blackening in my opinion, is one of the greatest modern metal albums of all time!
Agreed. I was blown away by it and addicted for ages. I hadn't listened to it for a while, but earlier this year I had another go and the addiction started all over again. Now I Lay Thee Down and Halo are my favourites off it, but the whole thing really is a masterpiece from start to finish. A proper example of stunning pure metal album.
RIP Dimebag. Your fans and colleagues will always hold you in the highest esteem.
God, I hope someone writes a song as awesome as this when I die... This is just the best the greatest respect an artist can have for another, I love the way MH incorporate a Dimebag sound (e.g. the riff at 1.40) but keep it their own song. RIP DIMEBAG!
This song was supposed to win the Grammy... Instead, it went to Slayer. That should have gone to Machine Head.
Now that's proper aesthetics of hate
Yea didn't they win for halo or locust?
@@Greg-pz9nt No. They unfortunately didn't. Darkness Within should've gotten something! And even on the latest album, Slaughter The Martyr got snubbed in my opinion.
speaking of slayer, Repentless is A LOT like aesthetics of hate.
Eh I mean no one really listenes to machine head like that
MY HANDS WILL RELISH ENDING YOU
HERE
AND
NOW
CUM AND FIND ME MACHINEEEEE
This is MH doing what they do best 🤘🏻 This song is just so aggressive & oldschool thrashy. Best lineup IMO , saw them twice on this tour . That BC Rich is pretty awesome , always wanted one .
I think Dime would be proud of this guitar heavy jam about him 🤘🏻
Roadrunner, don't censor this song. It's written out of pure anger straight from the heart. The profanity needs to be there. This isn't some rapper swearing to be cool. This is a song giving a big FUCK YOU to ignorant idiots praising the fact that a musician was shot. Difference!
they is the comment section is full of edgy 14 year olds that just melted down because their mom said "no more playing on the sand pit"
Amazing song... Can't get enough of it!! R.I.P Dime, LEGENDS NEVER DIE!!!
Best duelling guitar solo in history
Epic passionate song.
0:12
Joe Duplantier on the left???
You can also spot Mario as well
And Matt heafy on the right in the back
And Travis Smith (drummer of trivium back in the day)
and not a single fuck was given by Roadrunner Records
Roadrunner Records never gives a fuck.
especially now that they arent an independent record company anymore.
+Kalen Baker I see someone actually knows some Pantera.
+shockofhyperbole pretty sure that's lamb of god...
Wow. I just discovered this. When he says may the hands of god strike them down. Chills.
This whole album is goddamn killer start to finish
4:15 😩🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This song got me into this band.
This was filmed in Richmond! I love it!!
Love the Trivium cameo! Back in the Travis days! RIP DARELL LANCE ABBOTT. #machinefuckinghead #triviumhangar #cfh
How the hell I just discovered this song today?
Great song.
Lol at Matt Heafy at 03:25. Pretty cool.
OMG ahaha
and joe duplantier from gojira at the left :v
The best Dimebag tribute ever!!!
A superb song from a Masterpiece of an album. I think it is their best album.
Machine head is like a compilation of genius musicians
Awesome harmonies, kickass solos, riffs that make me wanna kill, badass bass, and drums that make my heart beat go to 200bpm
MAY THE HAND OF GOD STRIKE THEM DOWN
By far my favorite Machine Head song
8 years ago, we lost our brother. let us now pay tribute. REST IN PIECE Darrel Lance Abbot.
idk why but skull gloves with a fitted rain jacket are a such a hard look
I am a solo freak, I am always looking for cool solos thats why I have a guitar too xD, and I don't usually listen machine head, and then I found this solo WTF BEST GUITAR SOLO I EVER SAW
One of first machine head songs I heard love it
Underrated song
Let's just state the obvious and say, that guitar solo is incredible.
0:12 NOW I CAN SEE THE WHALES!
ah i see we both came from Whaleposting
Ah I see you're a man of culture as well
@@tickletoot7806 I want pringles
@@santiagohoyos387 waa waa wee woo
2:14 this is a tribute to Forbidden Evil song from Forbidden, the ending riff is the same. Not sure if Robb was the creator of that riff, probably, it is just amazing to see it fits these two amazing songs.
My alltime favourite machine head song
HE MADE US DRIVEN
DEEP REVERENCE
FAR BEYOND THE REST
A powerful responsive song to a legend that has won our respect the moment you gave us music and credit to Machine Head for putting their hearts and souls into this masterpiece, where a clear message is improvised; us metal heads stick together like family and will fight for what we love and fight for those we care. Respect.
The Blackening is still my favourite album! Ever!
Still hits just as hard as it did years ago!!

This was PEAK Machine Head. The Blackening was start to finish bangers!
Dime ruled, this is beautiful song for his memory. Respect to Rob & Co.
seeing machine head live was an other worldy experience. me + friends + an arena full of people shouting at the top of our lungs. more circle pits than i could stay stood up to see. intense.
Like it...
2:48 😔😭❤️🖤
Again I say thanks to Rob and the boys for setting some mindless ASSHOLE straight by writing this song. Also this is one of the greatest albums ever made, I'll put up against anything.
this make me goosebumps
....pure art...
The ending is chaotic in a good way
If you haven't read the article this is about, look it up. It's absolutely disgusting. That's why I like this song
This song is played in C# tuning I believe right?
I know they play most of their stuff (at least on The Blackening) in Drop B but I heard that for Aesthetics of Hate Machine Head used a slightly higher tuning.
I love this song so much. Machine Head truly made the Master of Puppets of this generation with The Blackening!
It certainly is! This and Wolves were played in that tuning on this album :)
@@dazwold and Halo
To this very fucking day i feel the passion in this song! RIP Dimebag!
4:15 slow tempo 😔🖤🖤🖤🖤💣
Oh that guitar tone..
Septembar 19th, 2007. The Black Tyranny Tour came to Hooligans. We came from the East to see Arch Enemy but they would not play because the bar was too smokey! You came on stage and rocked the f****** house! The mosh was insane! I was the cocky 17-year-old,125 lb Downeaster that just about got kicked out for throwing the Arch Enemy shirt that I had bought, back at Arch Enemy as they left stage! I was drinking Wild Turkey 101 and had an absolute blast! The first song you played, I don't remember the name but, I've looked for it, time and time again to no avail. All I know is that in it you said something to the effect of "aaaaaaaahhhh F***!" We proceeded to Mosh the whole Bar! 😅🤣❤️🤘🤘
Censoring this song is like spitting on a grave.
Dimebag! Dimebag! Dimebag!
what a great band and incredible song
2019?
one of the best solos in the history
Still incredible
The New Slayer
LOVE the brick throw!
2022 and still a great song to listen to
that instrumental break is fucking great
the best album and song
Holy fuck, this song is awesome.
Bro this song is saf. Never heard it till today. I’m a musical garbage can. I think I heard of them when I was like 10 maybe.
best song ever!!!
GREAT SONG OFF A GREAT ALBUM. LOVE THIS JAM. COOL VIDEO TOO
CRANK IT UP LOUD

Rock in power brother Dime
The real machine head!
he also said (litteraly in the title) that it was good he deid:
Titled "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance"
Rest in peace dime!!! What a fucking tribute"!
Fantastic!
This sounds like a mix between sepultura and slayer
I fucking love it 🤘
❤️🙂🤘💯🔥.Epic Powerful Voices & Masterpiece Songs Forever Guyz.
I am watching the 25th anniversary show in Oakland. Never knew the true meaning of this song, always loved it, love this fucking band, it's awesome to see the love and respect Rob shows, even though many in the community pit him and Phil A as rivals, to me this is class! Fuck the dumb shit and ignorant people. This is why this legacy will stay timeless.
This. Song. Makes. Me. Unleash. My. Hatred.
Fucking brutal...

I finally learned the drums to this song.
They're so fucking brutal. The only bit I can't do is the bit on the toms at the end because the timing is really weird.
this song leaves me fuckin sick.
