For anyone wondering about the rice Electronics can survive being wet if there's no current, so nothing to short with the water. You have to shut the device completely down, and leave it in rice for 1 day to 1 week. Once you are sure the electronics are completely dry (the point of the rice), it should be able to power on if it didn't short before you shut it off. Rice doesn't REPAIR water damage, it PREVENTS it and will make sure things dry out before you turn it back on. If it doesn't work, the rice didn't fail - it didn't get into the rice in time.
completely wrong. water is full of minerals, as the water evaporates, it leaves all the minerals on the components PLUS oxidation, which will bridge, short, overheat and destroy components over time. rice doesn't do jacksh*t
@@stevegredell1123 they CAN be equally effctive, but bone-dry rices' propensity to sap up moisture isn't placebo. I'm glad you felt smart for a second, though.
Technically correct but still misleading. Depending on the liquid a device was soaked in, mineral deposits may have formed on the circuitry that will still short-circuit it once powered on even after you've let it dry completely. You're able to still save the device like you said if you manage to clean these away before powering it on, but simply drying it out may not be sufficient.
@@GiantBelgianbut you understood what they meant still? So why even feel the need to say that? Presumably they know that bc of understanding the rice bit, they just did not bring it up bc the lay person doesn’t have an understanding of electronics and minerals like that. It’s sad, but true. Every person who’s into tech knows you need to clean electronics with alcohol so you get rid of those corrosive agents. But if you need someone to explain how or why rice soaks up water well, then explaining contaminants on a circuit board is prolly useless.

As a person who worked retail for many years "I'm going to call corporate!" Has zero power over anybody. Management literally laughs at you when they call. I actually had 2 managers walk up up on me asking me if I refused to help a customer (I didn't we actually did not have what they wanted and all I did was tell them we didn't have it) I just said nope and they said talk to ya later. End of interaction. Your rage means nothing.
Its irritating because people like this make people with valid complaints feel uncomfortable voicing them without being viewed as a Karen. For example my husband and I were at Subway and we ordered online, showed up, and informed them we were there. They acknowledged they saw our order and 30 minutes later we pointed out they still hadn't done it and they said they "had to serve walk ins first". Well... the "walk ins" were infinitely coming so an hour after we arrived (and already paid) they continuously took the orders from and made food for people who hadn't even paid yet like we had. So basically. They wasted an hour of our time when they knew d*mn well we were there staring at them and had already paid because they wanted to continuously serve people who got there AFTER us who hadn't even paid or ordered yet. We ended up just going in line and requesting a refund. It took everything in me not to just scream at them for being d*cks (the manager) as I know for a fact that is not policy and is just that personal managers directive. Looked at reviews after and other people had similar issues with that Subway only.
It boggles my mind too, because when a customer is nice and polite to me I’m happy to go above and beyond to help them. Secret to good service is to be kind, I promise.

I’ve worked at GameStop, and specifically did when this bundle was being sold- it was literally the only way at the time to get a ps5 for its 500$ price tag since there was a shortage at the time. People tried to come back in several times trying to sell the games from the bundle and we explained to them we couldn’t take the pieces of the bundle, we could only return the whole bundle. There’s no way this guy didn’t realize he was buying a bundle or got pressured ito anything, but more likely he had this plan in his head from the start- if he really didn’t want it he could’ve returned the whole bundle and gotten the ps5 later. Likely the bundle was done partly with the intention to stop scalpers, but the games were also really new and popular and most people buying a ps5 at the time were gonna get them anyway, so it became a deal with one or two of the games actually only being offered through the bundle at the time. The company does change stuff around every now and then but not being able to return pieces of bundles has been a thing for a while. Also please don’t bother minimum wage workers if you have a problem, call the support line instead.

If you had the balls to confront them about convincing you to buy something, you wouldn't have bought it in the first place. Why do i think this? Because I'm that type of person. I would be the one to feel pressured to buy something even if I'm not physically pressured. I don't go back and make it their problem, it's my own fault for letting them take advantage of my naivety. Usually when you get "pressured" like that, it's because you don't like saying no or letting the person down and you also don't like causing a scene. It's a people-pleasing thing. We politely told her we unfortunately could not purchase any of her clothes and she screamed and yelled at us for like 10 minutes about how high quality the suits are & she paid soooo much money for them we are so stupid. She finally left and we were all flabbergasted lol! I remember saying to my coworker “if they they are sooo high quality then why doesn’t she want to wear them? 😂” (they were hideous)

Only iron can rust. Electronic cirtuitry typically consists of copper, gold, and lead. While copper does react pretty badly to the process of oxidation, the process also takes decades unless it's left out on a beach with salty sea spray being blown against it by the wind. I got to click the big red "do no speak with" button and inform them of the address their lawyer could correspond with and that we could no longer speak with them. For anyone wondering about the rice
Electronics can survive being wet if there's no current, so nothing to short with the water.
Mostly good info, but rice is just placebo effect. Leaving it to dry in open air is way more effective.

Looked at reviews after and other people had similar issues with that Subway only.
i feel like it's less about having the complaint and more about how the complaint is expressed that really determines if the behavior is Karen-esque

First guy, if he got pressured into buying something he didn't want, he wouldn't have gone back to a confront them about it. We wouldn't allow ourselves to get pressured and then turn back and then cause trouble because it brings unnecessary attention.

The actual issue with electronics and water specifically is shorting.
*As long as there isn't any current running while water is present,* use of a dessicant agent like raw rice or silica pellets should generally do an adequate job *preventing* damage to electronics that have been accidentally flooded.
Obviously, if you're using your phone and drop it in water while it's turned on, it's most likely fucked.
Thank you Charlie and co for making these compilations
I seen all of these already… and I just watched them again 😂
As an introvert I am so stressed having to interact w customers everyday, Charlie is so right 😂
Ive work in a deli at my local grocery store for over 5 years and I’ve experienced some ridiculous male & female Karen’s. Plus disrespectful attitudes from customers who come in just to complain about prices or if there’s an item that needs to be pulled off someone will talk down to the staff basically telling them we should be better at spotting items ffs
gamestop bro got a sick as hell hoodie
Usually my family got rooms with two full sized beds and I'd have to sleep on the floor. lol
When i started working fast food as a teenager, never in my life did i ever think a job like that would put me in situations where i felt like my life was in danger.

As someone who used to work for one of the worst retail companies ever, Dollar General, we appreciate your pity, we deserve it.
Little man didn't swing one time.. enough said. 😂
In the short guy freakout I loved how the dude in the high vis gear had literally no effort restraining the little guy freaking out
You geniuenly don’t want to know how often people buy something on discount or like a 2 for 1 and then expect a full refund with the original price expecting to make a profit lmfao
Why couldn’t i get enough money to eat when I was ACTUALLY homeless and these people making a living from begging? Begging was so hard, out on the hot asphalt in the middle of June and August, less than half a bottle of water to last until I was done and putting myself and the literal mercy of others, abandoning any pride I had.
And these people do it as a choice?!
Gamestop employees are (usually) super lenient about customizing bundles, too. If you don’t like the options they’re offering, they’ll let you swap it out for a different game or different design. That’s how I got the Mario themed Switch bundle with Animal Crossing.
The rice guy reminds me of Jeff Goldblum hahahaha
Charlie doing that pose looks like a rare SCP
I'm a 55 Year old British woman who has worked in shops, mostly when I was at school to make a little pocket money. Anyway when I was 16 Years old I worked in a forest that also was a small fruit & veg shop, Anyway I had a fantastic boss, she was so nice & kind to who ever worked for her, she always had our backs. Anyway Back then if you worked in shops you were always told the customers is always right , it's not as bad now. 1 day I wrote a sign to go outside for the customers to see, I was stood behind the counter , the shop was full, I was serving someone, this woman came in & said in a loud harsh voice , " who wrote the sign outside " , I spoke up said it was me, she started humiliating me saying in a loud mocking, nasty voice " you should go back to school & learne to read & write because you can't spell " she said a few nasty, humiliating things, I just stood there I nearly burst out crying it was Horrable. Anyway my boss Mary. was stood there listening the woman even told My boss she should get better staff as well as other things. My boss Mary said to the woman. " don't ever talk & treat my staff like that ever again told her to get out her shop, she was banned but had to say sorry to me 1st that she rather have me work for her than have her as a customer. Mary never lost her cool, was Sterne but polite. It was awfull, I felt so ashamed but felt a little better I was stood up for. That woman thourt everyone would stand by her, even laugh at me, she had that Karren attitude looking around at everyone while smirking. I I understand how hard it can be for people working in shops, pubs ect. I always make sure I go out my way to give the curtadey, respect, paitence all these shop keepers deserve, yes there is the odd & I mean odd 1 that isn't good in there work & customers butmits rare I always make sure I say Please, Thank You, & all through Covid ide also make surenide always say Thank You to every single 1 of them for risking themselfs & there family to serve me

Don’t wanna be a hero anymore
I used to work at GameStop and when these bundles were happening they wanted us to REALLY push on people to buy absolutely everything and force them to buy games they were pushing like nba 2k or madden
yes!!! i used to work at gamestop and the upselling they’d make us do was insane
@@kelseygolden5175 it was so uncomfortable! The training on “how to overcome no’s” was just awful
@@NightyKnight09 What’s a bundle? Is that just an American GameStop thing?
@@imaghost2961 they forced you to buy two games of their choice (usually madden and nba) a controller and usually some other accessory and that was the only way to get ahold of the system through them at the time. It was just greedy companies being extra greedy and forcing extra sales down your throat for the things people didn’t want
The guy in the 4th story looks like Doctor Malcolm from Jurassic Park
Real terrortrolls the short guys 😂😂
