Antelias throughout a day: the uneventful morning, the frenetic noon, the afternoon of a wild animal, the unsettling evening and the mystical night.

ABOUT THE VIDEO
This short exercise was filmed in my third year of film school, in 2014, as part of a course titled "Exercices de Réalisation" (directing exercises).
The instruction for this second entry was to study the space surrounding us and to depict "my city, my neighborhood" on film (in a documentary-style framework).
And the Antelias square, my neighborhood in Matn-Lebanon, was a delight to study, I must say.
The only living creatures taking their time and enjoying themselves in this frantic environment of cosmopolitan daily-life chaos ... are the alley cats !
Let us not forget the acute hovering and all-seeing eye of the almighty venerable Mar Elias !

Raymond Aftimos is a Lebanese film school graduate from IESAV-USJ and works as a filmmaker, director, editor, writer, screenwriter and researcher.
Since 2012, and apart from his personal projects, he has been active in both theatre and filmmaking and has contributed, mainly as a freelancer, to several works, under the direction of creators such as Philippe Aractingi, Betty Taoutel, Lina Abyad, Émile Sleilaty, Carmen Labaki, Feyrouz Serhal, Carol Mansour and Muna Khalidi …
He is passionate about entertainment, performing arts and music, but also equally enjoys crafting archive, portrait and historical documentaries.
