Honestly, who cares what Uncle Roger thinks? He's kind of a dick sometimes. :P ;)
Also, he'd probably hate it because bell peppers, and sliced long rather than diced, and 15 other made-up criticisms for larfs and extra views.

Yum! LOVE fried rice! Very popular in America. We have Chinese food restaurants all over the place, and fried rice is very popular. Also in Thai restaurants. I love their Pineapple (and chicken / shrimp) fried rice. Very tasty! ^_^
Probably could have diced those bell peppers a little smaller. But otherwise, yum! Looks delicious.

They'd probably love chicken yakisoba, too... Basically a stir fried noodle dish with soy/sauce or teriyaki sauce, shredded cabbage, grilled chicken, etc. Quite yummy. I'm sure there's recipes online. Might be hard to find the specific soba noodles they use, which are a little bit different from spaghetti, etc.

@@MGmirkin I think soba noodles are made of buckwheat. Interesting Japanese suggestions you've made, that I think most would like. I'm generally a bigger fan of Chinese and Thai dishes than Japanese. Perhaps the subtle nuances of much Japanese cuisine are a little beyond my comprehension.

A couple of other good rice dishes:
Jambalaya: Originated probably around Louisiana in USA, many many recipes and variants online. Basically a ham/rice/vegetable dish, but can use chicken, shrimp, smoked meat, etc. instead or in combination.
Rice pudding. A creamy, soft dessert made by cooking rice in milk with sugar. Again, lots of variants, probably from many countries. Some include cream, egg, and/or various spices as seasonings. I like it with plenty of cinnamon.

@@TheTribalAct Ah, thank you. I thought I might have seen it (rice pudding), but wasn't sure if it was here or not. Regarding the jambalaya, I often make mine with a combination of chicken and spicy smoked sausage. If you can find a halal andouille sausage, that would be the most appropriate. I often substitute kielbasa, a milder Polish smoked sausage that's more common in my area, and just add a bit extra cayenne pepper to spice up the dish a little bit more.
Thank you for spreading love through food. That may not have been your original intention, but it seems to be what's happening.👍 Blessings to you all!

Should try something I made once by accident ... then on purpose... [Cinnamon-sugar dessert rice.]
I think it was short grain rice (which tends to have a bunch of extra starch / sugar, IIRC), cooked / stirred until completely soft, sticky, and slightly sweet, then add sugar and a few tablespoons of cinnamon, and stir up. Kind of a fun sweet dessert-y rice. Kind of made by accident / on purpose (after I made some short grain rice and stirred it way too much and noticed that it got stick and sweet, probably from all the free starch/sugar, and decided to add some cinnamon and a little extra sugar; was fairly pleased with the result).

Interesting looking fried rice. We don't make it quite this way, but close. We use diced up onions and serrano's (similar to a jalapeno), and maybe fry the rice a bit longer. We like to use shrimp, but chicken is a good stand-in. GREAT dish, pretty much a very common side for whenever we have Chinese food. These guys seem to really like it, awesome. Just saying that while it looks really good; it's not quite the same as what we have in the Western US, at least. Close, though. Num Num !

Fried rice is Chinese, though other Asian cultures make it. It most often is made with what is left over so there is not just one way to cook it. It is not something one would serve to a guest. I love it.
