I'm just a 64 yr old mom of 4 who will most likely never travel, and I found this to be Outstanding! I was captivated by evey single view. Thank you for your Beautiful work of Art.
Your videos are the best non-tourist coverage of this magnificent city. I have been to Paris seven time and can watch your videos pleasurably to recall my trips. Thanks very much!
@TheKurtz76 Thanks for the compliment. The sign shown at 34:52 is on the north side of the boulevard des Capucines in the 9th arrondissement. The camera is looking towards the Opéra Garnier, and the Café de la Paix is visible in the background (green awning).
Great idea. You have just shown me many things(like the Wallace Fountains)that I have walked by and not even noticed. But in 1964 I liked the pissoirs and I miss them now that they are gone.
hh your videos are beyond amazing! It's so raw and real, looking at them with 3 senses all the time! wow thank you so much for recording all of these, hope you enjoy it a lot, that should not be easy at times ^^, thank you so much again 😁
Not the conventional tour of paris but it is the little things that make a place different. Your video reminds me of a photographer named Aget or something like that. He took thousands of photographs of parisian architecture expecially architectural details. I know if I went to paris these are the things i would be most impressed with because I wouldn't even think of seeing them.
@kamillianne Ah … those are direct entrances into the underground stone quarries of Paris, of which the Catacombs are a part. They look like normal manholes, but they're not. There are more than 100 miles of underground quarries in Paris, mostly on the Left Bank.
Hi Mxsmanic, this is a really cool video. I am going to look out for pieces I have overlooked in the past when I return to Paris at the end of the year! Would you mind if I share some of your shorter videos on my facebook page and possibly my blog?
@joebstewart There's one street urinal left, on the boulevard Arago, and I think there may also be one hidden in the Luxembourg Gardens. I probably should have included that. However, there's tons and tons of street furniture to cover, and as it is I gathered stuff for months before editing it all into a video (it takes a long time to collect images of all the different things in the city), and I finally had to saw it off at some point and make the video, so some things are missing.
Well, you're the type of viewer for whom I intended this particular video. Did you watch with closed captions on? They give a little bit of extra information. As for women, I didn't think there were too many in this video, apart from the mysterious legs at 32:58 (which I didn't even notice until the video was finished).
@touristinexile You're probably thinking of Eugène Atget, a French photographer of the early 20th century who considered himself a documentary photographer and worked hard to take objective, documentary photos of Paris. I like his work and have similar objectives, so a resemblance in style wouldn't be surprising.

Just got back, I think i only saw one street phone, a bunch of water fountains (make sure it say potable), love the bikes but i didn't see those yellow mail boxes. Paris must have been beautiful before diversity?
Well it means "Inspection des Carrières" meaning the Paris Service for Inspection of the cavities with its headcourters were else: Place Defendre ! This service is using these manholes for going deep uderground and inspect the secret underground Paris. It is a very old service maybe 200 yo. If you are a cataphile (lover of the secret underground) these are the maholes leading you down. About me: I am Greek living in Greece and never been in Paris in my life. But I love it ! Thanks for the video. It was not borring at all !

Hi, thanks for the video, I am writing my thesis for Street Furniture and this is helpful.
Thank you for your videos! They are mesmerising, their directness, liveliness, the joy of recognition!
Thanks! I thought this would appeal more to people who are interested in gadgets, but if it has a broader appeal to everyone else, so much the better!

I'm glad someone likes street furniture besides me!

You made the perfect cadeau to every Paris nostalgic out here.
Thanks! This was intended to be mainly a sort of reference video for people interested in the details of street "furniture."
