9:30 The reason the game crashed right then has nothing to do with the mod, the game just crashes when Toadette when she gives you the "Rescue Princess Peach" moon (which is the first one she gives you) and you haven't actually rescued her. Some sequence breaks allow you to do this without mods, but with or without them, early Toadette moons are completely useless and broken until the game flags that you've defeated Bowser.
4:10 most likely pipes are already there but set to be invisible and loaded the area incorrectly causes the game not to check if its loaded or not ( you can see another instance of this happening in mario galaxy where a door in good egg has a sign hidden behind it, its used to save time and resources)
