I watch a lot of these and never comment. There are a lot of subpar videos introducing boats. But this is a near perfect walkthrough. Interesting comparisons to the previous model, pointing out notable standout features, no awkward pauses, no ehms and uhms, knowledgable and fluid presentation in conjunction with the camera operator who is also doing a fine job finding the right angles in a calm manner. No jerky camera movement, no superfluous close-ups, smooth transitions that make the viewer feel relaxed and less distracted. Of course I wish this was longer showing us all the options and giving us all the data. But I understand you can't turn these into TED talks. Considering the cost of a boat, I would go to Florida just to make a more informed purchase from you. Well done.

The new 280 is a nice boat and well thought out, the 250 and 220 not so much.

VERY wrong assessment of the new 220 Dauntless. I've had Whalers my entire life and it is the best one I've ever owned. I've been in 20 foot swells, as well as backwater shallows in my boat, all without any hesitation or fear of non-performance. You should actually run a boat before offering your opinion, regardless of what your user name might be.

@@alanherrett7602 I have, that’s why I made that comment. I have had multiple whalers and currently have a 21 240 Dauntless. The new hull is much improved, but the topside was sacrificed just to have the nice helm seat up front. The aft seating on the new boats suck compared to the previous generation and are not well thought out. The 250 aft seats are a colossal engineering disaster. Have you actually looked at that design and operation? I guess not. How many cushions are going to be lost with magnet failure? That’s a joke of a design. The walk around space behind the helm is more cramped, there is less space up front on the casting platform and so on. They are nice boats but everything in the 220 and 250 revolves around one nice seat. Let me know how that seats works out in rough water with passengers up front. When those up front retreat to the back there’s no great place to put them. The aft back bench seat was a much better design easier to use and more practical. Admittedly, the helm seat is not great on the 240 or 210 either. They could have made those more useful and not butchered the aft end seating and space for one seat up front. They tried to put a bigger boat seat on a smaller platform and it didn’t work, bottom line. So yea I have plenty of time on whalers new and old to make my valid assessment. Thanks for your smart ass reply!

@@whalerlife53 All boats are designed for an intended purpose. Used outside that purpose will result in a potentially unpleasant experience. I have yet to have that experience for myself or my passengers in my 220 DA, whether in Lake Erie chop or Lake Huron monsters all the way down to the obvious ease of flat water cruising. It boils down to the skill of the operator and the expectations of the crew. Smooth sailing to you, my friend!
