Teesta Barrage is the biggest irrigation project of Bangladesh. It is located in the northern region of Bangladesh. Teesta Barrage is located in the two northern districts of Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari. The Teesta Barrage, 615 meters long and having 44 gates, was completed in 1990. As a result of the construction of its barrage, the uncultivated land of Bangladesh comes under the irrigation scheme. Teesta Barrage has become a blessing in the life of the people of Bangladesh especially in the northern region.
