looks like a pretty tough bike! nice scenes from the trail, you sure gave us a beautiful backdrop for the test rides! looks like it did pretty well over the rocky road, great bike thanks for sharing
I like and purchased this bike. Waiting on receipt. South Alabama, U.S., mud, sand, gravel. not much elevation change. For whatever it's worth, right now they are cheaper. My total package. I added a $99 dollar back rack and bought the $49-dollar (Halloween deal) accessory pkg and my total cost was under $2,200 dollars. I thought this was approachable. I am using it for inaugural ride of Coast 2 Crest Trail (links Florida Trial to Pinhoti Trail 280 miles PCB, FL to Flagg Mtn, AL). I think this will be a great test, straight out of the box. Thanks for the share, one of, if not the, best reviews I watched. 👴
I have the Basalt and I feel like you. Love Getting outside and Really experience the natural world. At my age I am able to enjoy going places that I had trouble doing in my 20's. I'm 65 now 😅❤
Pretty fun bike but I have some bad news folks. I bought an Obsidian, put it together and had a complete awesome time on it for a month straight! Awesome timezone! Rode it everyday for hours after work. I put at least 3 to 4 hundred miles on it in that time. Road, trails, everywhere. Guess what 1 month into it, rear hub started knocking, and bike power shut off and hasn't work since. Been on line with their customer service, they're in no hurry to help. They said they're sending me a new rear wheel with the motor but they're really backlogged on rear wheel replacements. Weird. I paid $2300 to ride a bike for a month.
It’s a great idea with no customer support. They are first to market with accessories that won’t be ignored. So sad they won’t answer the phone even in pre sales. What happens if you need a warranty repair when they won’t answer the phone now?
I had the same thoughts and definitely plan to use good judgement. I don't plan to take it anywhere where it might be unreasonable to recover it. Stay tuned for updates!
That bike will last a few years at the most because of battery longevity and the motor itself will fail. The technology of ebikes is advancing so fast that in 5yrs, bikes will go twice aa far in half the motor size and at least 1/8 less weight. Todays ebike motors and batteries are very problematic and fail a lot more than the public realizes unless you've owned one or work in a bike shop like me. $2500 makes that bike a cheaply made bike with barely entry level components that will fail under moderate usage. That bike will end up in the garbage within 4 years like most cheaply made bikes.

Thanks! Hard to go wrong with a nice backdrop.
Beautiful country~ good ad!
These things are kinda cool I've thought about getting one

Sounds like a good deal. I’m still riding this bike. Good times. Let me know how it handles the terrain in your neck of the woods.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope you'll consider sharing the resolution.

Amazing review and footage. Whats the location of that lake/mountains? Would love to ride around there someday
What city are you overlooking at 4:56?
How tall are you?
First time I've ever heard of the motor cutting out on that bike at 28mph. Plenty of others have reached 30 mph easily with no motor cut off.
Assembly seems like a pain. They even give you tools for it?
80 POUNDS?? Let me know how much fun that bike is to pedal/push out of a trail after it breaks down or the battery takes a dump in the cold.

@@HomeInWildSpaces 👍🏼 yeah that’s a lot of weight. I rode some trails in Wyoming that I had a tough time pushing even my 32 pound bike up.
Many fat tire ebikes are in the 80lb range. Some weigh bit less, some weigh even more.
I love mokwheel bastard st I have a bike shop willing to fix it
It's a Hard Tail no back shock 😮
Full suspension front and rear.

May very well be true, but a lot of memories and good times can happen during that 4 years. 2 grand over 4 years ain't bad, 40 bucks a month.
