I thought I had consumed every iota of Asimov's impressively large SF output but you managed to find a great short story that I had never heard before. Thank you for such an unexpected pleasure.
@DeclanMBrennan I think I've done some more. not as well known stories by Asimov. I am always looking for as many of his stories that are in the public domain that I can find since I love narrating his work. Have you heard Starlight! It's a very short story from Asimov that I don't think has ever been recorded before. ruclips.net/video/OeKjWXic2nU/видео.html&pp=ygUaaXNhYWMgYXNpbW92IHNob3J0IHN0b3JpZXM%3D Thanks for listening!!
Thanks for this. I note that Asimov also wrote and published a story named "The Weapon Too Dreadful To Use", which he dismissed as one of his worst efforts.
I really appreciate that @PeterLGଈ! Such a thoughtful comment. Thank you for subscribing and for commenting. Hope to hear from you again and again and thanks for listening!!
Thank you, thank you and thank you @philc8575. Thanks for your comment and thank you for listening. If you haven't subscribed already, I hope you do so you never miss out on any of these amazing vintage sci-fi short stories.
I am so tired of AI voices. Thanks, Scott! Uh, unless you are an AI voice that’s really good. Then I’m not happy about no longer being able to tell the two apart. Story time just got complicated!
@johnt.inscrutable1545 I can't stand AI voices either. I promise that's my voice, not AI, and there will never be any AI narration on this channel. Thanks for your comment and thanks for listening!!
@xephael3485 interesting story isn't it? I do enjoy narrating stories by Asimov. Thanks for your comment and thanks for listening. By the way, did you enjoy Fondly Fahrenheit?
I just went to settings. Of course, the volume of the ringer was off. I turned it back on. I'm going to watch the screen, I will find out how long it works before it shifts.
This is completely new to me - and I thought I was a nerdy fan...!!
Thank you!
That might be the first written account of a leader finding a fudge to get around their version of the Prime Directive.

I read it as a play on "You don't just get it handed to you, you have to make some effort to earn it"

Scott's voice acting and narration is far and above the AI readings going on.
I am so tired of AI voices. Thanks, Scott!

This reading is fine and entertaining free of any comparison.
That said, Buckwheat and Tarzan are better readers than any AI.
"Democracy must not lose" how prophetic!

A weapon that's not a weapon...and Martian's who like people who help themselves... 😂
