Here, Paul Mears (CEO, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board) explains how the seven Welsh health boards collaborate through a joint committee called the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSSC). This is a dedicated group of people that commission specialised services. For very niche services, where there isn't the scale of demand in Wales, agreements are in place to send patients for treatment in England.
