Gene is actually one of the nicest guys I've ever met. In the meet and greet and stayed the longest to chat with the fans and took his time to make sure everything the fans wanted was signed and then moved on to the next guy and same thing again. I got my stuff signed and chatted with him and left but realized I forgot to get a picture so I went back and asked and he gladly did it. U forget some ppl have to act a certain way for the camera.
Monster was a great album. Real band work. Full of passion. I agree with Gene that had it been released by an unknown band, it would have brought such band due reputation. Tommy Thyer is a GREAT guitarrist!

They have been plenty of meet and greets where the person involved wasn't interested and just wanted to get through each person as quickly as possible. Granted, filling Gene's pocket had something to do with it, but he at least was nice enough to make it worth people's hard earned money.
The thing is, Tommy is a good guitarist and could probably do very well if he did his own thing. But as long as he's wearing that makeup he will forever live in Ace's shadow and be negatively compared to him. The fans may just even accept him more if he had his own character and played his own style. BUT will never happen at this point in KISS's career.
The new album has one kiss quality song on it, I mean old school kiss quality.. The sound of the album to me isn't a kiss album..It's pretty standard and seems to start sounding too much the same after a few trax. I don't think Paul should not of produced it. Sonic Boom and Monster together aren't as good as Psycho Circus. Even though kiss had session players and it's a manufactured album, Psycho Circus is memorable and the guitar sounds and production on that album are kick ass!

Well Monster wasn't a very strong KISS album. Sorry but it just wasn't. Sonic Boom was much better.
