      @ well, the first time it felt like a one in a million event, like its something you will never see again, a spectacle.
      This time, it still looks amazing and all but like its just a another "new tech".
      It's the same as with quantum computers, when I first heard about them I went nuts, but now, new feats in quantum computing is just "this new tech is advancing".
      Still amazing but not a spectacle anymore.

    I drove over to South Padre Island, and saw the whole thing! SO AMAZING! My first SpaceX launch!
    1) WAY louder than I thought. lol
    2) Sonic booms were also WAY louder also!
    3) It all happens so fast! You watch it light up, and go, that flame coming out is insanely huge - then you're watching it go up, you see the gases when they separate - and you can see the ring - then you lose all of it for a few seconds, then it's coming back, and IT IS SCREAMING BACK TO EARTH! And it's caught! So amazing, and so proud of Elon and SpaceX. Congratulations!

      I was on South Padre Island watching - closest crowds could get on land - from the north. It was my first SpaceX anything. And omg videos online do not give it justice. Do your best to get here someday! It's so worth it! It was way louder than I thought! Especially the launch, as well as the sonic booms. And that booster flame on launch and catch were way brighter in person! I'm so much more impressed now!
      Deffo worth a trip - as just the other day, I was able to just drive up, and look at the booster and ship mated together. I was only like 2 or 3 hundred meters away - if that! NASA doesn't let you get anywhere near that close! So it's totally worth it to make a trip out of it. Bring the family, or friends or whatever ya got. Good times are possible, and it's not a waste coming down!
      Good luck, man! :)

    On this flight, I'm impressed at how fast they cleared the tank and lowered the booster down from the tower at the end, this shown the plausibility of 24 hours turnaround time.

      I wonder if thats in prep to clear the tower for a ship catch soon after in a future flight..?

    Forward flaps are on a curved surface, leading to a more dynamic flow. One clue is it was always the lower hinge that was falling.

    it's crazy how the booster just sways back and forth a little hanging on the chopsticks after catch

    This is V2 Starship's first flight. It appears that they purposefully stopped it or that there was a fuel problem and it exploded. However, the Booster made a great catch.

    Anyone else notice the panel on starship that was flapping as it ascended? Left side of the screen before seperation.

    • @robertjung8929
      @robertjung8929 12 дней назад +4

      i bet the problem was a fire onboard, if you look at the official stream there is a short view to the ship's aft flap right before the engines starting to cut out and telemetry is lost, and there are flames visible in the hinge area. it would also correspond with the rapid loss of methane.
