Blake Duncan he is catching everything in the pocket it's just that the training mitt is so small that it looks like it's in the web. If it were his real glove that's easily staying in the pocket

It is there in case you miss where you are supposed to catch it. The more it stretches out the harder it gets to ball out of the glove.
