I got the book for X-mas 07' and it saved my life.I kicked a 15yr habit after reading that book. Thanks Nikki for writing great music but most of all for savin my life.
I've just watched all Sixx podcasts 'cuz I've read the book and...damn...at the end...I cried! I'm happy that this guy has turned out to be who he is! Just the fact that he's became such an inspiration to many many people in the world and made people change their own lives! I mean...how fucking great is that! My first tattoo is gonna be Nikki on my arm!
Nikki Sixx has inspired me on so many different levels. First and foremost, as a bassist, his work through his various projects has really helped shape how I play. Secondly, as a person. The man is absolutely unbelieveable. His presense and drive are awe inspireing. If I were to choose a hero at 27 years old, Nikki would be it. He's a man to look up to in just about every way imaginable.
thank you so much for posting all these podcasts 10thst,started to read the book today(had to order it online) and already impressed watching the Nikki today and the other one on the 80´s..being myself a Crue fan, never imagined how deep down he was..and what a fantastic soundtrack,im addicted to this album..wonderful work Nikki,Dj and James..keep it up!
I would alos be reading in the dark while the class was trying to watch a movie. I would also hide the book behind other books to make it look like I was reading. This book helped me alot through rough times. And this quote from them especially. "We all fall off the wagon sometimes It's not you're whole life It's only one day You haven't thrown everything away" I love the Herion Diaries and I love Nikki Sixx.
Hang in there, man. Depression is hard because people don't see the damage it's doing. It's not like a cast on your arm. Don't give up. If you have to read this message everyday, then do it. Your addictions will fail. Look forward to that day.
Same thing I said to Haligonia:I'm no preacher/weird tightass!I'm like Nikki in many ways-including being there for fellow addicts that might be suffering. Even if the steps didn't all make sense to me - I STILL take suggestions from those who make ANY great/proven antidotes for sobriety! Damn, they're advice was much better than mine which got me nowhere except to the three inevitable places that addiction will take you: jails/institutions/death. Living sober is THE alternative! I'm kickingass!
I'm sure he would appreciate the praise, but he would also tell you that YOU saved your life. His book simply gave you hope, or a kickstart, so to speak :p Congrats!
@JDvp4ever Yes! The drug is just a symptom of the real issues that we all have. Granted, some of us, like myself, are prone to addiction but I swear when I tell you that the information learned IN ORDER to assist one with cleaning up is INVALUABLY BRILLIANT! Not just for addicts but for EVERYONE!
hi kristen this is a great book, its amazing how nikki relates his life, and how hed became an addict, the book shows a message, i recommend you to read it cheers from mexico :)
@KiDKEV1N Yes,we can learn with others mistakes ,what is better because you don't need to suffer to learn. Most of people can't do that. They need to pass thought shit to learn. lucky us that don't.
One thing I learned after being an ACTIVE addict (I'm ALWAYS going to be an "Addict")is that there's no way to use successfully once your situation or disease(if you wish to call it that -who knows?!) has progressed to much more than smoking some weed! If you've progressed to the point of addiction that u might have, then you're rationalizing, justifying, minimizing etc. EVERYTHING to allow yourself to keep using. Please feel free to contact me.I'm not a counselor but I'm a musician/addict/friend!
Well my addictions have failed to fail me so far... and some and of them are 15 years in the works. I've read the Heroin Diaries (twice) and have been a huge fan of the man since 1987 when I first heard the Girls Album. Really don't know what to make of it all... it's pretty twisted to say the least. Depression is a hard hard blow to roll with but I suppose that's one of the main reasons that my addictions have failed to fail me yet.
When he said in another interveiw that he had to die in order for other people to live. I think that is completly true. think of all the lives he has probably saved and how many people he has made them turn away from drugs.. that was his purpose..
Life is indeed beautiful, and I couldn't be happier for Nikki. God bless.

@Madox901 what do you mean how?
@clintdelicious i didn't say anything about religion.
@dlguitardude you need Jesus bro then you'll be free from addiction.
Nikki is Jewish.
What's that got to do with it? Jesus loves everybody even the Jews.
Trust me your parents should read it first so then they'll see that it will acrually turn you off drugs for the rest of your days buddy...
