This is exactly the way I've done this spread for 55 years! Just perfect from the grinder through the Miracle Whip thank you so very much for displaying this way that's the best! I'm going to the store right now, my mouth is watering! Appreciate the love sent along with this and the memories it brings! Love and thanks
What a wonderful comment!! Thank you so much for taking the time to put that in a comment. My mom use to make this when I was a child growing up and I always loved it. A lot of people do not like miracle whip, but it is my favorite. Thank you for watching.!
I remember when Oscar Mayer used to sell a delicious sandwich spread made from ground bologna, relish, some dry mustard, a little vinegar (no mayo strangely enough) - encased in a cylindrical shaped clear plastic package, crimped at both ends. I always thought it was ham salad. Turns out it was just good old bologna. I always kept plenty in the Meats and Cheese drawer at the bottom of the fridge. I called it a "Ready When You Are Lunch in a Tube."
My Mother used to make this...Our roots are from Michigan. Anyway, this was my favorite sandwich growing up. I am laughing because of fond old memories. Caution: this stuff produces large amounts of methane....I set a world record for this after 2 sandwiches...never mind.
My mother was born in Michigan and lived in Indiana. She'd make this sandwich spread in large batches and keep it in the fridge for at least a day to 'set up'. Dad was a real fiend for this and she'd scold him if he got into it before she considered it 'ready'. Man, what great memories - especially the grinder. I'll have to make this!!
My mom always made this too! I tried to find one like this online and couldn’t, so this must be pretty old. I bought mine at a yard sale. Thanks for watching.
It took so long to ground that balogna, it's good you had that lovely classical guitar to listen to. I'd never heard of this spread, but I love the taste of balogna so I'll definitely make this. Thank you! And I enjoyed the music so much I gotta find out what it's called.
Thank you! It is so delicious, it is one of my favorite sandwich spreads. The name of the song should be at the beginning of the video. I have been trying to remember to add that into my videos, the name of the songs. Thank you for the comment and watching.
My recipe, except Koegel is to high end for sandwich spread. I love Koegel for a meat tray, but use Oscar M, or Eckrich, for spread. It"s hard to beat, on white bread, with a cup of coffee.
Just because it’s called Koegel doesn’t make it high end. That’s just a company name. It still just Bologna. Calling it Koegel just lets those of us that have lived in Michigan know it’s a locally processed meat.
This bologna is called Koegel and it is made in Flint, Michigan. www.koegels.com is what is on the label. It is my favorite sandwich spread to make. I grew up with miracle whip, so that is what I am use to. But it seems the majority is definitely a mayo group. Thanks for watching.
@@sweetcountrylivinginmichigan THANK YOU. I just had never seen bologna in a package like that.. That's the way some smoked sausage is packaged.. I make ham salad too and cheese salad. All three of these are great on toast. Really appreciate you answering my question.
I would buy you a food processor if I knew where you were at That thing is just ridiculous I mean I'm sure it worked out great 50 years ago but a little food processor for $12 will make short work of that stuff
I have a food processor. My mom always made it this way. I really don’t mind at all making it like that. It is so delicious. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching.
Yeah I prefer to make mayonnaise myself that way I know what's in it And it tastes good Only problem is mayonnaise will go bad in the refrigerator about a week later But other mayonnaise won't what does that tell you it's full of preservatives Yuck
That was excellent…exactly how we made it 60 plus years ago…we even had the same grinder!..it was so, so good on fresh Wonder Bread!
Thank you so much for that comment! That was nice to see. We love that sandwich spread so much. Thanks for watching.

I don’t remember that, but what a great sandwich spread. We just love it. Always nice to have some in the refrigerator. Thanks for watching! 😁
@@sweetcountrylivinginmichigan It's definitely an all around treat for the whole family Goes great at home or on the go.
I remember that tube of bologna spread...it was tasty on saltine crackers.
It is so good!
@@sweetcountrylivinginmichigan Yes it was.
Looks amazing
It is so good! A little bit of work, but it is worth it. Thank you for your comment and thanks for watching.

It is a favorite sandwich here. My mom always made this too. Thanks for watching!

My mom made this when I was growing up and strangely enough, she ground the meat in the same type of grinder you used.

Anything good takes time
@@daveklein2826 like sex with someone you love. No quickies, thank you.
It's excellent but do yourself a favor Go buy a food processor Don't go to goodwill looking for 1 of these grinders LOL
Great video....Rope Bologna yea..... Does onion add more flavor?
We really like the onion in it. It just gives it something extra special. But you could add whatever you like. It is so good. Thanks for watching!
TY.....
Check it out when you're in your own kitchen You can put whatever you want in it nobody can stop you How about that
that looks like something out of my Peanuts lunchbox recipe book!
It is so good! Thanks for watching!
Ok, I just looked below and found it. So thanks for two good things this morning.
You are very welcome! ❤️
My recipe, except Koegel is to high end for sandwich spread. I love Koegel for a meat tray, but use Oscar M, or Eckrich, for spread. It"s hard to beat, on white bread, with a cup of coffee.

WHAT KIND OF BOLOGNA IS THAT? THANKS. I DON'T HAVE A MEAT GRINDER I JUST GRATE MINE AND I USE MAYONNAISE

This recipe is **BEGGING** for two tablespoons of smooth Dijon mustard.
That would be very interesting! I may try that.
Oh you damn skippy
I haven't seen ring bologna in stores in yrs
Walmart and Meijer carry it here. It is so good! 🥰
Look in the packaged lunchmeat area, i've always seen it in stores in Michigan.
OK you need to stop shopping Quick trip and go to a grocery store that's where the ring bolognas at
I cant find tube style...had to get chop slice at grocery store...
Well that is a bummer. Our Walmart and Meijer stores carry it here in Michigan. Thanks for watching! I hope it turns out good for you.
I have never seen a grocery store that doesn't have ring bologna Where are you from Antarctica

Thumbs down for Miracle Whip
I thought about that when I posted it, but we love it that way. It is an easy swap out. 😉
@@sweetcountrylivinginmichigan okay switched to thumbs up.
@@robertsherman871 well thank you very much 😁
I'm a Mayo girl myself.
Yes. You can put in anything you wish, make it your own way. This looks great tho. Thumbs up!
Please use a wooden spoon or something other than your fingers. I cringe each time you stick your fingers in the grinder.
Miracle whip sucks!!
