Hand stitching the binding on your sweater quilt or the lining to your cardigan creates a luxury finish and can be almost invisible. I wanted to make this short video so that I could offer a bit more detail about how I do this. I've been a weekend sewer most of my life and have learned the hard way that sometimes I need to just take more care with the finishing details. Apart from the look of the finished product, handstitching is strong but also much easier to undo. Sometimes I have undone a sweater quilt after a few years to enlarge it.
