It’s Because many of these kids were(and are) the accessory babies born in the 2010s that were born to a large minority of(a lot of) teenagers who wanted to showcase their cute baby as if they were a furby accessory trying to copy the celebrity (spesficially the kardashians and Kyle Jenner) accessory baby trend which resulted in the aesthetic of parenting and having a cute baby without any of the actual work needed to raise a baby to a functioning human being with good literacy skills, a reasonable education and basically becoming a functioning person. Oh and teen mom the tv show(which despite showing some of the darker sides and contributing to a decline in teen pregnancy’s some dumb kids still took inspiration) . It’s made even worse because now TikTok and instagram reels glorifying pregnancy at young(like teenage) ages for aesthetics even if said person was not ready or willing to handle responsibly raising a future adult and showing none of the true consequences and sorrow that comes with ruining your and a future humans life, instead being filled with instagram photos of cute mommy and baby in matching outfits on highly staged photos with no hint on how difficult it is to raise a human being. anyway The baby was never supposed to grow up as a person and become a functioning human being but to be a silent being with no thoughts of it’s own to dress up and show off to instagram and Pinterest. Essentially a doll. However when that baby started to grow up into their own person and becoming a human being because as it turns out baby’s grow up to be a functioning adult. The parents has no desire to be a parent and does not know how to raise a functioning human so they dumped them in front of iPads in order to get them out of the way and basically negelect them. The consequence is that now we have an entire generation of kids who have not been taught basic lessons and how to be a functioning person. This is scary because they are our next doctors, artists, writers, musicians, librarians, mechanic, firefighters, plumbers, etc. and they end up with social media addicitions and have shockingly short attention spans thanks to overstimulating RUclips shorts and they were never taught how to be a successful person who thrives in society all because they were treated as disposable photo props to get more IG likes. To be clear not every parent is like this and there are many parents trying to raise their kids good and teaching them to be a good person but it is concearning how the accessory babies are now being turned into monsters at shockingly young ages. I really hope people wake up and realize that this is a problem and how we need to educate kids and prevent toxic Tate influences on boys And toxic trends on girls. We need to let kids learn positive values and teach the, about diversity and how to be a good person and helping other people and doing good things and working hard to achieve whatever goals they want. We need to fix this and help prepare kids to be a functioning good adults so that they can succeed and it even affects the kids who weren’t accessory babies because the peer pressure to act more mature than before has ramped up significantly as the moms of the accessory babies shunned kid appropriate outfits and acting their age and stuff because they wanted the babies to be dressed up in adult fashions for instagram photo ops and have engrained that acting like a kid is stupid and that they go from accessory Baby to hot young adult with no inbetween in their minds which warps them to act like an “adult” when way too young and if a kid simply acts like their age group they are often picked on by accessory babies which means that a lot of kids are now under peer pressure to grow up way to fast because the accessories kids that dominate the school and act like monsters towards everyone else. Parents need to supervise their kids online. If you put on a video for your kids you need to sit and watch it with them or find another activity for them that doesnt give them free reign of the internet or even free reign of streaming apps, kids netflix is also unsafe, even Disney+ has movies not okay for all ages.
I have nephews, my sister neglects them so much they're literally skibidi toilet, no joke, I honestly don't blame her but at the same time I do, having a kid is giving more than half of your life raising them, which is too much commitment for me, so I won't have kids because I know they'll be skibidi toilet kids.
This is not news… since the 80ies the tv was the preferred “fire-and-forget” way to keep children “calm”.

@1r0zz thank you for finally looking at the fact the internet will show kids things that shouldn't see, no matter what you do. Even if you put limits, even the kids themselves will seek those things on there own. The best thing you can do is what you should as a parent everywhere. Hold your kids hand, untill they can safely understand and do what you can to a relable and safe degree.
when i was a kid, elsagate was HUGE. literally as a kid, watching minecraft youtubers and animations, i would see pregnancy videos EVERYWHERE. its gotten so much worse :(

Honestly - why does the autoplay button exist? Why is it on by default?
I know it won't fix the issue, since people are drawing kids in with thumbnails as well, but it's a feature that I've only ever heard of being actively used by children getting sucked into Elsagate content. If it was just removed, that would at least cut into these people's profits.
I remeber watching Aphmaus roleplay Minecraft videos with my older sister and loving them, we both loved Aphmaus content so much that we got merch from her store! and just looking at her content now is depressing. Seeing a RUclipsr you grow up with, slowly decide to put money over child safety, and exposing them to such weird and fetishistic content is just so gross and upsetting.

It’s very odd, back in 2015 I was 9, like I was the prime age demographic for Elsa Gate but I didn’t know about it until 2023, and I NEVER watched it, and I’m genuinely thankful I somehow missed all of that, it’s probably because I mostly searched stuff about Skyrim and therefore it recommended more mature videos, and by mature I don’t mean inappropriate just not for kids, hell at that age I was watching Jacksepticeye but I’d much rather have my kid watch him than Elsagate, because Jacksepticeye isn’t exploitive, likes it’s very obvious his content is for an older crowd
I was the same way, I also was big into Skyrim and I watched Markiplier religiously-so I wasn’t watching this mess, but I knew it was happening because I knew some younger kids who got caught up in it. Unfortunately, it’s back and somehow even worse than before. I second raising the kids on Jack though haha!
@@dexerli this definitely needs to be stopped, like I love dirty and dark humor, but that does not at all belong on specifically RUclips kids, obviously that stuff (within reason) should be allowed on adult RUclips but kids shouldn’t be exposed to that stuff, it’s like how American Pie is a funny movie but you sure wouldn’t want your kids watching it

I was unlucky enough to be exposed to elsagate though, specifically the Minecraft videos. I blame it for a lot of the issues I have now.
Thank you for making this video! I was disappointed to see the Elsagate subreddit shut down recently, I just started researching Elsagate again because I sometimes work as a babysitter and noticed one of the kids was always having trouble sleeping at night. I went through his RUclips watch history and it was disturbing stuff that outwardly looked like it was for kids. Some of them were OLD videos from like 10 years ago that never got removed! Also, he's previously been such a sweet kid but he is now obsessed with watching TikToks where ppl get hurt and talking about poop.

I had an argument recently with an ipad mom who didn't know the difference between peppa pig and elsagate. she was showing her kid elsagate and came onto a forum wondering 'why is peppa pig so violent'.
It really hurts me as a longtime creator on here seeing Elsagate come back. When I started YT in 2018, I remember seeing how horrible it all was. But seeing it relapse, despite RUclips and even the COPPA trying to get rid of it, it still has stayed and gotten worse. And I'm saying getting worse as content farms have used characters from stuff that shouldn't be known by kids like Wednesday, Squid Games, or even TADC as Gooseworkx has stated before that it's not for kids. She even made a recent tweet about warnings for the series, and while the last one was a joke, majority of said tweet should be taken into account with this. But yeah, I do feel as if it's worsened this time around. And no matter what, just like last time, these originals videos didn't get taken down. But the moment a creator speaks up and shows some of this (even if it's the more tame content slop), we get in trouble for it. And even worse, I've seen creators from fandoms such as Mlp, Sonic, and the cartoon community get their videos falsely marked for kids by RUclips despite said content on purposely not being for kids, having 13+ warnings, and such. Or even worse, get their videos taken down by RUclips cause of it. It's horrible and RUclips seriously needs to fix that. And parents also need to get their act together and actually watch over their kids instead of just putting a screen on their faces 24/7. It's harmful for their mind, thought process, and mental health for so many reasons. Just actually parents your kids, we creators are not babysitters, dear god.

when i was a kid we went to the library to access youtube and my mom hated what videos we watched, which were claymation videos. as kids we were fine with it and honestly im still fine with it, but looking back we sort of knew it was wrong, and i probably should have asked my mom instead of the internet

When i was a kid, i watched a LOT of elsagate and brony content on youtube since I was around 5 or 6 during it's peak. My younger sisters all have a lot of internet access and I really want to help them stay away from that content but they're just obsessed with this type of content. The effects of watching these videos as a kid really change your brain functions and it makes me sad. I'm glad that there's people out there still actively trying to bring this content to life to make RUclips safer for kids.
During Elsagate, I was 9-10 but I didn’t even watch RUclips. I’m glad I missed it.

It's.... really weird to me that its not kids show characters in elsagate anymore. It's primarily mascot horror characters and it's weird, i guess?.? I mean it makes sense, it's "mascot horror." Kids are probably attracted too it because its cartoon and horror has been watered down recently to "ooh scary cartoon thats so spooky!"

Honestly a lot of mascot horror seems have a scarily high amount of children. I think a lot of it is the mascots designs naturally appeal to children
Poppy Playtime, for example. I see a lot of children with Huggy Wuggy plushies or shirts because he looks like a toy, even though Poppy Playtime clearly isn’t for children
The worst part is some of these horror games seem to be for children specifically, creating mascots that prioritize appealing to children before anything else
@@mangledfoxy2052 Well, mascot horror is supposed to kinda be horror games for kids as some kids naturally do like horror. So, it's meant to not be too dark for kids or for those who can't tolerate most bigger forms of horror. A lot of mascot horror originally didn't meant to attract kids as they were just made by indie creators. But ones intended for selling merch like Poppy Playtime did it on purpose, and in a way that isn't that great. But there's also mascot horror like Bendy, ATA, Tattletale, and such that were just made for fun and try to appeal for teens and young adults. But yeah, it could definitely be a problem if the creators behind it are like Mob Games. And I especially know this as an indie mascot horror fan that would like to make those kinds of games someday.

I unfortunately saw some elsa gate videos before it was even coined or under the media's eyes. I was into shipping 2 characters and this channel had alot of videos about them but the theme was water belly (I don't recommend you into looking that up) it was horrible.

A way to fix this (to some extent) is that parents who really don't have time to entertain their children at the very least choose what their kids can watch, they could watch some videos and make a playlist with videos that their parents think can be good for them, im shure there is a way to do that wich doesn't involve making a playlist on youtube that can differ from what their parents have chosen for them because of autoplay or clickable thumbnails (yes, it takes time, but having a child takes time)
Me personally, I just don’t think kids need internet access. When I was little, I had a book of dvds to choose from and that was my entertainment when my parents were busy. Otherwise I was playing with toys or friends

I have four younger siblings and I remember seeing stuff about Elsagate when it was at it's peak. I am so thankful that my younger brother didnt know how to search on RUclips because, as much as I don't like to think about it, he was very "curious" in exactly the way that Elsagate would have attracted his attention.
I probably won't see nay of these types of videos in the wild, but if I do, I'll report them. Thats what I did back then and I'll do the same now.
Also, I believe that if grown people make sexual content for children (like on Elsagate with actual people performing) then it should be seen as immediately sexually predatory.
It kind of reminds me of the weird debate avout Colleen Balinger (I'm pretty sure that's wrongly spelled and I don't care) about if she did or did not want to actually interact sexually with children. She made content with obviously sexual themes targeted to children, so it's sexually predatory.

(this one should be called AlphaGate i guess, basically same premise but since the ol' elsa and marvel character shtick was being watched by youtube, they switched over to post-2020 "memes" and indie projects, which really puts a sour taste in anybody who enjoys indie projects)
