Tsunami in Rikuzentakata (陸前高田市津波) - Iwate Prefectural Takata Hospital (岩手県立高田病院)

In my opinion Rikuzentakata is the most devastated area in 2011 event. The town together with entire local river valey was hit directly from the tsunami source. The long narrow bay just made it worse due to amplification of tsunami energy.

震災後から今の今まで色々な映像観てきたけど、これが1番怖い。他のものは高台の安全な場所からの撮影だけどこれは違う。動画でこれをもしみたら卒倒しそう。でももし動画だったら世界中に津波の恐怖を教える為の最もすごい「教科書」になるだろう。

助かった人の
家族は当時指定避難所とされていた
陸前高田市民体育館に避難していましたが
悲しいことに
そこは天井近くまで津波に飲まれ
亡くなられています
市民体育館には100人以上が避難していましたが
助かったのは3人だけです

自分も(身内の葬儀の為)帰省した際、(兄の車で)日没後の陸前高田方面を通過したが(断片的にですが)津浪の被害を目の当たりにした…高波を受けた学校(中学校?)の各階の窓枠が殆ど紛失していた…回りに家の灯りが無かった為、真っ暗で物静かでした…自分自身(その惨状を目の当たりにして)言葉を発する事が出来ませんでした。
